    Tasha this was very thorough and I feel very much the same way about it! With you being a wonderful writer yourself, I loved hearing you praise the composition portion. With my reluctant writer, I struggle with knowing what direction to go and if we are doing enough to support her, so it gives me comfort hearing you say it’s good. Thanks so much for allowing me to collaborate with you!

      Aww thank you Kristie so much. Loved collaborating with you. Yes the writing definitely takes time and support. I allow Zoe to begin with her own thoughts and ideas and then I just support her in breaking it down. Reading her thoughts out loud so she can hear them.

    Leslie LOVED Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I love how highly you speak of the writing component. Although we’re not using it this year I’m hopeful that with the fundamentals we’re working on this year she’ll transition to it easier next school year. Thanks for being a part of this. I’m happy to have connected 😊

      Thank you so much for sharing this curriculum in this space with me. I hear you and love that you were aware on what was needed to best support your daughter. 🧡

    I love the sound of this, and watched other videos. Question about the composition, does it hold your (the teacher)hand through teaching your student? I saw the lists of character traits, and you discussed all the various parts of plot and the MLA formatting, etc, is that all in the guide for you? Or is that knowledge that you have personally and have implemented in the process? I need a step by step teachers guide ha...

      Great questions.. for the vocabulary work and MLA format is implemented by me. All composition exercises are encouraged by the curriculum to be completed in the students composition journal, including their rough draft. The teachers guide helps you with explaining the different formats to writing and sharing with your student why and how with examples. I hope this helps explain more.

    What have you found is the major differences or similarities between Writing With Ease and Lightening Literature?

    • @TashaPivots
      @TashaPivots  2 роки тому

      Great question! I think the difference is the child gets the opportunity to explore the characters of the stories by having days if not weeks with them, where with Writing With Ease it is short stories with short exercises. I also think the parts of speech exercises are repetitive in Writing With Ease where with LL you are seeing our the student can first acknowledge those parts and then put them in use as they compose. I believe that next year we will cease our journey with Writing With Ease if we decide to continue with LL. I hope this was helpful. Thank you 🧡

    I also am loving Lightning Literature! Do you feel that using this could take the place of Writing with Ease? I was thinking about using WWE before finding this curriculum but decided to do just this one as my daughter is in 1st/2nd grade.

      Yay! So glad you all are enjoying it. I think next year we may lay WWE down, if we decide to continue with Lighting Literature. It's been great to see Zoe connect her growth in WWE with the grammar and mechanic exercises.
