I loved this video and you are so right we need to choose carefully what we bring into our homeschool. I don't have the mental space for busy work either. I told myself I am forever a minimalist homeschooler and then I forget myself and want all the things and then we end up with wasted memberships and books that make me guilty in my homeschool closet.
Here is to evolving and growing.
I hear and feel the nesting coming out haha 😉

Thank you so much. Yes, we can easily be consumed, thankful for mercy and grace as we continue to learn and grow as educational leaders in our home 🤍

I really resonated with this! I’m on our third year of homeschooling now and I feel I’m just now getting to this point of finally realizing I really HAVE to simplify, stop buying stuff/adding stuff, and be content with what we already have. I want to be a good steward our time, family, and resources. I think getting out of the mindset of feeling the answer has to be in something we don’t yet have and need to buy, will help so much. But it’s hard for me! Slowing growing though.

Amen. Once we step back and see what we have and how it is simply enough, we can then embrace the joy of presence with our homeschool🤍

I am halfway through my 5th year, and every year I struggle between minimalist and robust "do ALL the things". But I keep reminding myself, elementary is for exploration and enrichment, not expertise.

I'm 26 years in, and down to my last child at home..
And still struggling with a book addiction, still finding new "things" I just *have* to buy because I want to try it - in reality I really don't need to buy anything new other than restocking art supplies and books to write in.. When I remind myself I'm down to my last child - my brain justifies it by saying Ohh but eventually there will be grandkids that come along, it will get used again... Hopefully next year I will have a bit more self restraint.
