Packrafting Adventures, North West Highlands | June 2018, On the Adventure Trials Scotland

- Packrafting Adventures in the North West Highlands. Flanked by An Teallach and Beinn Dearg Mor, Loch na Sealga provided a superb gateway from the estate track that runs from Gruinard Bay, along the river and then to the Loch. The outstanding wilderness scenery was a special moment we had both been hoping for. Weather was hot which ultimately altered our plan A. This wasn’t to spoil our adventure, in actual fact it made it more enjoyable! As always, plan A was possibly slightly over ambitious which involved a summit camp on Sail Leith, this wasn’t to be, for now!

Hi Ian, Hopefully we can all get back out in the near future. The packraft doesn’t half inject a new dimension to our adventures. Hope you enjoy when the time comes. D&L 😀

Thanks for sharing ATB ALAN GREGORY ADVENTURES 😀😀😀😀
Alan Gregory Adventures THE GREAT OUTDOORS thanks, it’s great to vary the adventures. 😀🙏
Beautiful
Simply brilliant. I sold my boat for a drone :( Miss on the water. Plan A? That's the excuse to get you back there. Great video, great edit. Cheers
Thank you mate.. its an awesome place isn't it!
Fabulous 👌🏻
Fantastic video, looks like a great trip! You can tell you put a lot of effort into making it, some of the shots where you set the camera up must have been a pain to go back for!
S Fergus haha yeah can be hard work at times. Worth the effort though.
Lovely stuff 😎 First time I've seen this... Ye cannae beat Fisherfield like. I thought at first yous had pitched up at the bothy then re-pitched by the Loch till I realised it wis probably someone else's tent 🤪
That was a great trip. We wanted to stay away from the bothy area, was really busy! We were really lucky with the weather. I was burst in the way back. 😅😂
Great video I am heading up to Corrour next month for a fat adventure with midge spray and net at the ready :D
Love that area. Just hope for a small breeze to keep the we buggers away.
Nicely done, Fisherfield is hard to beat. I take you cycled in from Gruirnard Bay? That's the approach I fancy doing for the two Corbetts.
Hey Robin, Yeah that's the direction we came in from. We would have done those Corbetts but we ran out of time...next trip though !! :-)
Not like we need an excuse to go back. :)
Fantastic Scottish scenery and been very close to here in the past. How much are those kayaks to buy ? As I wouldn't mind a go here myself
Hey Darren, Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed it. They aren’t cheep but you can actually hire them and try them out (before you splash out) Andy Toop @ backcountry.scot/ does them if you are thinking of trying this out in Scotland. Here sells and hires. All the best. 😀👍
superb. Loch ......whilst you were rowing who took the drone footage 🤩🙏🏼🚵♀️
We just put the drone up and left it to film. Yeah it’s a beautiful place. 😀🙏
That's the Fisherfields. I recognise the Corbett in the background.
Lovely area. Thanks for watching. 😊👍
Wow
Wonderful vid, tremendous landscape. Pity the narrative is drowned out by the background music.
Thank you. 🤙
Just re-watched this one again for some lockdown entertainment. Such a brilliant adventure you had to an amazing location. The midgies never seemed to haunt you either! Looks like the MSR Access 2 you have there? Very close to buying one myself. Any real world feedback for it, other than the inner first issue? Looks big enough for two and a great all round tent. Cheers, James.
Hey James, Thank you for watching! 😀👍 We really like the Access 2. It’s everything we need in a tent that can be used in a number of scenarios. If we had one criticism it would be that it’s not brilliant in STRONG wind. It’s didn’t stand up well on one trip during the pretty strong gusts. That said, It never broke and alway sprung back into shape when the gust passed. That’s a very small critique but it wouldn’t stop me buying another. Hope that helps. D&L 😀👍
@@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389 Cheers guys, good to hear that. My eyes are peeled for the next site to offer a wee cheeky discount 👌. Hope you're both staying sane and well 😁
James Bell we are very well but very frustrated. It’s time to open up the outdoors again. ASAP. 😀👍
@@ontheadventuretrails-scotl9389 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 pretty please!!!
What did you do with your bikes? Lovely vid thx
PACEUK22 thanks for watching. We tucked them away off the track, locked them together can covered them. We’d have been very unlucky if someone had found them lol 😂
On the Adventure Trails - Scotland thx to you both for making it 🤘
Beautiful adventure! What tent ⛺️ is that you’re using?
Thanks Jen, It’s the MSR Access 2. Really like it for what we do. 😀👍
A really good video as i am looking to buy a packraft. One Criticism is the over powering music I watched it vid with the sound on mute as it drowned out the talking and any sounds of nature. Sorry just had to say.
Hey Alan, thanks for watching. Well worth investing in a Packraft. Yeah I agree with you about the music. That was old editing software which was hard to work with on the sound. Hopefully our more recent ones are a little more balanced. Appreciate the constructive point you made. Thanks. 😀👍
This is a great video, but unless I’ve missed something? What did you do with your bikes while you went canoeing? I’m sort of new to all this, so I’m just curious.
Hey, thanks for watching. We hide the bikes. 😀🙏
On the Adventure Trails - Scotland pmsl.... quality. Happy travelling and stay safe. 👍
Curiosity thank you and all the best for now. 😊
So they come and pick them up for u because your making the video ? It’s good if the company did that for you ,
Any more info on the inflatable rafts? Are they only in the UK?
Paul, Head over to backcountry.scot/packrafting/ This is where we get our kit from.
I need some help, I bought a packraft from Poland, and am having a bit of trouble with a small leak, I can`t find any holes in the fabric (after performing a soapy water test), I contacted the company in Poland and they said I should `bleed the air valve` does anybody know what that means? Thank you
m8tie2405 sorry mate not sure what that means. Strange!
