Some good friends of mine have worked there, good machinists, they have Good machines and the metrology lab is well equipped. I have a 20 power loupe in my box that is basically two lenses with a coupler, it was a gift that he had made out of scrap, I use it daily in my current job driving horizontal’s. As an aside I went to high school with the old man’s grandson, at Beaverton High.
I guess Unertl didn't have their 10x on the USMC M40A1 with the first mil dot reticle. Leupold was definitely NOT the first to have a purpose made military rifle scope or "tactical" rifle scope.
I have been using Leupold scopes for 60+ years! I am a gun collector and I only buy Leupold when it comes to new scopes! I have just about owned every model at one time or another and they are the Best Buy for their price range on the market
I didn’t know they where in Beaverton and I live near there I always thought they where in Portland proper bu😢 I guess unlike like Nike that is also headquarters in Beaverton at least leupold makes their product here and not in Asia somewhere.
The only Leupold I would buy would be the mark 5 HD and maybe the mark 4 hd series. Only in pr2 and cch reticle. Leupold sucks at innovation and is often behind the curve.
Avoid Leupold , I fell fore the Massive advertising campanj and stuck with 2 of them , could not sell them , All of my shooting and hunting friends only have Leupold as a backup , they have made the same mistake as me BUY KAHLES ore the Razor Vortex line , Was very surprized when we did a comparison test in the hunting store , the owner put all the different scope up side by side so you could compare them when the sun goes slowly down , that scope that surprized me was Vortex PST gen 2 1-6 , This medium price scope had very good glas , The Kahles has both K16 1-6 and the new K18 1-8 with new reticle , fore longdistance scope check their webpage , have used the old 84 KAHLES many years , I regret that I sold it .
Been a Leupold fan my hole life means alot made here for us by us !
The leveling line would be a nice feature have on the commercial market.

What’s not said often is the people at leupold are so genuine and caring. They’re just good people all around.

I have never understood the MOA adjustments with the MIL reticle… y’all have fixed that now right? Right?
I am proud to say I have three Mark 4 optics topped on amazing rifle systems !
I have a few leupold scopes wish they would open the custom shop back up I would buy more then
I second you on that. I think it was about 6 or 7 years ago now they quit changing reticles out
they need to bring back the custom shop
Love my Leupolds

They were not the first. We used Unertl in WWII
Leupold didn't make scopes till after the war
Re-open your Custom Shop.
American made 🇺🇸
Only the military would use mill adjustment with moa recital ? Or vice verse .
if only leupold made scopes people outside of hunting actually wanted lmao
Why does everyone say "running" - can't they just say "utilizing"? :)
Because no one says that in common language
But it's from Oregon
No, no… he has a point.
So am I, that scope on your rifle was probably made by someone I know.

How does a scope “run”? How does someone “run” a scope on a rifle? Why has this term become synonymous with gun accessories?

BUY KAHLES ore the Razor Vortex line ,
Was very surprized when we did a comparison test in the hunting store , the owner put all the different scope up side by side so you could compare them when the sun goes slowly down , that scope that surprized me was Vortex PST gen 2 1-6 ,
This medium price scope had very good glas ,
The Kahles has both K16 1-6 and the new K18 1-8 with new reticle , fore longdistance scope check their webpage , have used the old 84 KAHLES many years , I regret that I sold it .
Leopold doesn't sell some scopes to citizens so they don't get my money.
Love how they completely skipped over the nog so successful Mk6 series
