Amazing how when the Wright brothers flew their first airplane the Wright Flyer, the furthest distance it went on initial flight could be captured in the length of this beast. Look at how far we have truly come. Salute to another awesome vid!
My father had a part in designing the new 747 program. I have Boeing in my blood. Remember sitting in my dad's shoulder's during the first public roll out and again at the first test flight. Every time I see a queen I get goosebumps. My uncle was the paint crew chief and still has a piece of the skin from the left side lower that received minor damage and had to replace the piece. He said the alluminum never shined quite like the original piece
These beasts fly right over my house here in Southern Indiana going into their hub in Louisville KY from Anchorage... Really rattle the house since they are dropping altitude
Hard to imagine he would have made it if an engine had quit just after V1. Looked like he needed every foot of that runway! Beautiful plane, and "thanks UPS" for bringing it!
Early in the 747 life a commercial pilot landed at an old Columbus, OH airport that is much smaller than the main commercial airport. Passengers were bussed to the correct terminal. The stripped the plane of seats any thing else they could, brought in a Boeing test pilot to fly it out. That plane was so powerful it much less than the available runway to take off. It was speculated it could have taken off full. Obviously safety first. I’m pretty sure the UPS plane was way under it’s max weight, and could have made a more impressive takeoff, if management had allowed it.
We had the NEACP, the Air Force Mobile Command Post 747 frequently stopping at Grissom AFB IN. The first one in parked in a reserved spot, but when he went to taxi out, it lifted a 20 X 20 foot section of ramp right out of the ground. We had to redo the entire parking ramp just to handle it.
@@roberthouston6562 which is probably a treat for the ups pilots to fly that empty plane to an event like this. I saw those wings rocking tho. He was pushing it.
This beast is nimble in the sky's like driving a Cadillac on the road. Interesting things I noticed about the 747-8 UPS freighter. On the nose where they put the UPS logo it looks like a persons lips or a smiling logo (intentional or not) That landing did not take long to almost a complete stop (very short in my book) compared to the take off of a very long run down the runway before flight. I always hoped someday they put four of those huge Trent engines on that aircraft, kind of like adding superchargers to a car engine. But that will never happen and they only put one engine on a 747 wing for engine testing in the sky and I saw that video.
In an increasingly oil scarce world the 747 is an anachronism. It's been discontinued for passenger service because it uses too much precious and expensive fuel
What are you, stupid? This is now a freighter, and is THE most efficient way to move freight fast. Tell your hysterics in the Biden administration clowns like John Kerry who fly around the world preaching their cult science of man-made climate change to sail their way to their next climate change meeting in Brussels. I'll bet they'd tell you to take a hike. And oil is NOT scarce. Just ask Russia who opened a new fossil fuel pipeline lifeline to freaking EUROPE while Biden killed ours.

I can't wait for humans to perfect space tourism to the point it's affordable for anybody to travel to space even if it's only for a few hours.
5:03 the wingwave 😍
0:23 LOL that's me on the bottom of the screen wearing a green jacket trying to get a good shot
Well, did you??
Awesome airliner! Thanks UPS and Boeing!

“747 tighten that base! All the way in the air to the green dot! Left turn into the grass.”
Looking so nice for this pasted show...So nice having the 747 land.
That was nice that crew made her give a wave!!! So nice!!!
747 up so close ❤❤
Beautiful capturing ❤
beautiful aircraft.
still has the new plane smell. delivered to UPS on July 8
Best smell ever. Even better than the smell of a new car. I've ridden jump seat on several acceptance deliveries for Delta.
I’m almost crying that’s so beautiful and sad.
IKR?
How true, and the wing wave was awesome!

Floyds Knobs here. We must be neighbors.
@@Kevin_747 I am just SW of Bloomington
Yup same here! In California, they Land at the Ontario Airport, after a long flight from Honolulu! always hearing them drop in altitude!
I unload them and the 757
If anyone is interested in seeing every single flight airborne anytime of day worldwide. Download the "Flightradar24" app in your playstore.
I love UPS trucks & planes🤎🤎🤎
747 Rock your wings, thanks for that.
747 Beauty for ever!
We'll miss them when they're gone!

They did a derated takeoff
No sense stressing the jet unnecessarily
Enjoyed that! Hopefully one day I'll make it up there.
I love freighter aircraft. I guess becasue of the cartoon Tailspin.
Still want to see a 747F and Antonov An-225 Mriya one day
That was really tight.....!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a cool take off, with the little wave at the end there
The wing wave at the end =D 5:00
Wow! That HAD to be cool in person! I didn't realize that the airfield there in Oshkosh could land something that big! Incredible!
They had the AN 225 there several years ago
Awesome aircrafts! ✈️🛫🛬🛩🚁
What a beauty
Saw that little guy on final behind the 747 when they were beginning the takeoff roll. Thought to myself that wasn’t a good idea!
Amazing how quickly it decelerates.
ups 747 driver isa shooow offffff!!!! show offf.
nice short field work just the same

Pilot flexin on that climb rate.
Basically empty plane that is used daily at a much higher weight. Short T/O no problem, Steep climb out no problem.

Better looking than the passenger version with the longer hump
🤣 that'll help dry up the runway
I bet a lot of small plane pilots had a bit of envy that day.
Wow. Oshkosh doesn’t see too many planes that large I’d imagine.
The plane rocking at 5:00 is them saying goodbye
Smooth like soft butter on warm white bread straight out the oven
That plane was shined up beautifully. Normally the belly gets stained and some putting. The plane looked brand new. Very cool UPS.
A UPS pilot there in the plane told me it was only about 2 weeks old!
@@gboaa just checked. They are down to their last 10. Atlas Air cargo will receive the last 4.
@@thereissomecoolstuff That was N628UP and we will keep receiving new ones until we get to N633UP.

UPS delivery exception
I was 5 minutes behind the departure!!
I wouldn't want to be any sooner than that lol
Caution turbulence if you were a lot sooner - that things is a LOT bigger than many of the planes flying around.
I’m guessing they had to land on the brown dot?

2009 saw the Test A380 and Eve land fro the south end of 36
What noise did the UPS Jumbo make when it made a bumpy landing? Boeing! 😣 Great vid
This joke is a hate crime.
Nice video
Did it break when it landed?
Omg 😭😭😭
Does this plane use the same engines as the C5? Sounds similar.
No, 787 Dreamliner and 787-8 share the same GE engines. Just as the 747-400 share same engines as 767s.
Lucky crew get to check Oshkosh out for free!
why does it look like its too big for that airport?
