Hello Dear Viewers :D
Today, I am doing a video about showing the new AMD Adrenalin 24.6.1 Drivers.
These drivers bring the usual FIXED ISSUES, AI improvements, ROCm for Windows and Anti-Lag 2! BUT, as usual, when many things are added, some things tend to be broken, in this case the shader cache loading issues that happen in some games and make them unplayable with the 24.6.1 Drivers.
00:00 - Intro (24.6.1 & Shader Cache loading Stutters)
02:05 - Fortnite (24.5.1 vs 24.6.1)
03:03 - EA Sports FC 24 (24.5.1 vs 24.6.1)
04:40 - Should you use the 24.6.1 or DDU and use 24.5.1?
07:11 - Final Thoughts

Just small video showing you what I found about the 24.6.1 Drivers so far, and why you're having issues (stutters) in some games
Can't believe your gameplay on 24.5.1 is smooth. I have had stutters since the introduction of DXNAVI. Turning dxnavioff doesn't always help because it lowers FPS
@@natenexx9974 you have issue then mate, you need a better disk/CPU maybe
Interestingly, the issue also affects dxvk, even though this is the first driver where they allowed dxvk to use the graphics pipeline library extension for vulkan, which should reduce shader compilation stutter...
@@AncientGameplays I don't think so. I have RX 6600 + R5 5600 with lexar ssd nm620.
@@natenexx9974 Try disabling Above 4G decoding in your UEFI menu. If the stutters stop, it's an issue with AMD SAM (Smart Access Memory). I've had this happen on my system (5800X + 6800 XT) and what fixed it for me was using AMD cleanup utility for GPU driver (reboot), uninstalling chipset driver (reboot), then reinstalling GPU driver (reboot) and then installing latest chipset driver (reboot), then re-enabling Above 4G decoding and AMD SAM.
Respect to you covering FC24, as soon as I updated to 24.6.1 i was thinking wtf lmao and instantly downgraded. But it's nice to see you're aware about the games that don't really get talked about on majority of benchmark related channels :)
I played a Game and was wondering as well Whats going on
same i even repaired fc24 and reinstalled it like 5 times so fustrating
you know drivers are fked when even adrenalin is laggin
Yeah I noticed that too, adrenaline is laggy af
XD yes the older driver was better and way consistent across all the games I've noticed that
@@Omen09 yea i noticed that
@@TheRealName7 yeah i can barely use it
I bought a 7800x just as the 24.6.1 drivers came out and I noticed stutters in some games, so i did some research.
In power settings > choose AMD high performance plan, and change the following settings to 100%, it seems to help, somewhat - change plan settings > change advanced power settings> process power management > process idle demote threshold > 100%, process idle promote > 100%
With 24.6.1 drivers AMD finally corrected the "broken" CPU & GPU metrics @ Overlay (and Performance tab)
- The metrics are working like a charm. Thanks to U AMD 👍
Yes. I also had same issue, but with 24.6.1 it fixed. My card is RX 6600 XT.
I had to DDU and reinstall twice before it corrected itself on my 6750xt. For fun I decided to do a playthrough of GTA V last week and it was kind of a stuttery mess.
The overlay can still break with user error. I find you might have steam overlay on by default, RTSS, something else and AMD going all at once. I don’t think they layer or mesh well stacked up.
Then why does my vram say 0 mhz
@@ilbro7874 my cpu temp even don't show up when i turn on my pc, reset the metrics and it work again , thank AMD
What makes this channel one of my favorites is that you really read comments and listen to your community.
I also had stuttering issues with call of duty, so i used the amd clean up utility and rolled back to 24.5.1
And now fine I believe
@@AncientGameplaysis there a diff between ddu and amd cleanup utility? Which one do you recommend to use?
Same, there was this unplayable packet burst every now and then but sometimes it get resolved when I do a complete reboot.
Also try disabling on-demand texture streaming option.
@@0g779as far as i know, kinda... Amd gets the job done but DDU rly cleans that shit DEEP.
I honestly think DDU is much better, never heard someone having problems after using it or rather not fixing driver problems using it, the same cant be said about AMD one.
Can be wrong tho but DDU is amazing thats for sure
Idem 😭😭😭
Thanks for the update Fabio. One thing I've noticed is starting with 24.5.1 I get much more stable undervolt performance on my 7900 XT Hellhound and 24.6.1 continues this trend. I'm running it at -110 with all the usual tweaks and its been rock solid with everything I've thrown at it. Previously -80 was the max stable undervolt I could get before crashes started. Win/win!
True, they need to make it better
I noticed this, too. I have 7900xtx nitro+. For awhile undervolting wasn't good
Interesting my Msi 7900xt was at 1040 UV last driver. This driver I had to increase to 1045-1050 UV to stabilize. Still runs at 2800-2950 htz at 72 hot spot 75% fan so no big deal.
I actually mentioned this in a 7900xtx Facebook group my undervolt is a lot more stable then it used to be and my memory over clock seems better as well I hit record highs for my card on 3dmark
I noticed this as well with my 7900XTX
Love the channel! Thank you so much! You are one reason I own a 7900XTX!
Thank you as well!
This channel helped me hold out for the fine wine. 🍷 HODL
I know its an older game, but 24.6.1 causes Starcraft 2 to BSOD Windows. confirmed with multiple people. 5800x3D + 7900XTX + 980pro ssd + 32GB DDR4 3200
Bro 32gb ddr4 Vs 16gb ddr4 Which one is better for windows 11?
@@manu-singh It depends on the game you play. Some games might perform better with 32GB of RAM. For me, Warzone 2.0 can get unplayable at some point with 16GB of RAM. If you can get 32 GB, don't even think of getting 16GB as the price difference shouldn't be that big.
pretty similar setup 58x3d, 7800xt, win10. new drivers
Crashed instantly on loading in game in League of legends. "driver irql not less than zero" BSOD. lost a ranked game for free :c. used windows restore to fix
... you playing that old games and u still update to a new driver ... wait or get a second old gpu as a backup (like a AFOX GeForce GTX 1050 Ti LP) ...those updates rarely improve on that old games and its far more likely they brake something. gl
@@philosophia_melancholia6614 Yeah if you want to play older games just find a driver which works and then stick to it. New drivers won't help old titles..........
I just installed the 24.5.1 drivers again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I see haha
same
Same here 24.6.1 driver doesn't work, I can't launch a freaking game...(7900 XTX)
Need a 24.7.1 quickly !!!
It’s ok to revert buddy. It’s usually only a problem if your game just launched and needs support. If it’s not a new game from June then just go back to greener pastures
Why did you update it in the first place ? If it worked completely fine, there was no logical reason to change it
I'm still using 24.4.1 as the previous drivers since 24.2.1 introduced heavy latency in my pc, audio crackling with high dpc latency, I'm always checking this channel, thanks for the info!
Im still using 24.2.1 but havent tested any after that. Is 24.4 better? You had issues with 24.5?
@@olwiz For me it was, I haven't tested 24.5 because of the problem I had with previous drivers, a problem that lasted two whole months, so I'm keeping myself from updating, it seems it was a good call considering 24.6 may cause stuttering on some games. Tho 24.5 likely has no issues.
@@Mattotk Thanks! I may try 24.5 but its good to know i can rely on 24.4
Thanks for talking about this. Love your videos!
Cheers Fabio. Thank you very much for comparing to the 24.5.1. I ended up using DDU and going back to it. 99% of games and Windows 11 itself are fine with that driver. I've seen tons of people say that 24 XXX drivers have not been up to standard, and I know a few trusted friends on reddit who are still on 23.11.1 because it is very stable. However I don't enjoy being so outdated with my drivers because I enjoy playing the latest AAA games😅
Thanks for putting out these videos my man. The news is super helpful.
I recently bought a FULL AMD PC Ryzen 7 5700X3D + Radeon RX 7800 XT and I didn't know why my games had much stutter! now I know why thanks a lot for do this video xD
fabio doing his best mario from sm64 impression today: "thank you so much a for to playing my game"
And I was about to install... Thanks for the video.
Thank you for listening to us! Your an EXCELLENT PC investigator! A++
Hi! I upgrade from xbox to pc, i have a 7900xtx and 7800x3d and I only play warzone. Recently I started to have sttuters i dont know if it is the game or the drivers and I upgrade to 24.6.1. and it makes the problem worst so I use ddu and rolled back to 24.5.1. and the game works better but in the big map(Ursikistan) I still having sttuters. Someting that helps was that yesterday upgrade the chipset drivers, the bios and a lot of your tips of one of your videos and the things are better. So its hard to play in pc i had to learn a lot and watch a lot of tutorials But I like the performance when everiting runs well. Warzone had a lot of issues whith the Vram I had to have in 50% the vram if I increase it the sttuters return. Thanks for your content !
Brilliant, thanks for letting us know!
Of course just updated last night for a new build for costumer that’s picking up today and now we’re going back. Thank you for the heads up and keep up the videos. You have a niche other UA-camrs don’t.
Thank you

Here again the note that, according to many reports, DDU did not completely remove 24.6.1. The problems remain with 24.5.1
Many users then used the AMD Cleanup Utility and the problems disappeared after using it. So with 24.6.1 it's better to use the AMD tool and not DDU.
you need to keep updating DDU as well
Yeah, I'm never downloading an update without watching your vids 😅
Thanks Ancient Gameplays ! You are Great man ! I'll stay on the 24.5.1 Driver ; )
so glad to see this covered. its been driving me absolutely crazy. Monster Hunter world and GTA have studder issues for me. 7900xtx with a 7800x3d and 32gb ram. Crazy....
use 24.5.1
Well, fuck, brought a 7900gre yesterday and think I installed them drivers as well. Can't say I've had any issues with the drivers so far, but I'm not playing any of the games mentioned. Hopefully they sort it soon. Thanks for the heads up as always Fabio.
You can download old drivers and downgrade em
@@AdamNRG316 how’s it going with ur setup what kind of cpu do you use with the 7900gre I recently upgraded and got the Gre as well and went with a Ryzen 7 5800x still got a bit of stutter how’s yours going? I’ve also got 32gbs of ram not the best with pc stuff js need help
@@SteadyWatch Running it with a 12400f with 16bg of ram. Not had any issues at all so far but im hardly pushing it to its limits. Had a quick play with it with maxed ray tracing with quality FSR as well and it actually worked pretty well. So yeah no issues at all so far.
Huh no wonder, i was stuttering in warzone within like an hour in or 2. I thought it was my ram or pbo offset. Glad to know its the driver
Great stuff, really appreciate you going and buying fc24 and taking the time to test other titles to verify the issue. I think it is exactly the same issue AMD fixed earlier this year, only to bring it back. Does not look good for their driver team. It is pure incompetence. I love my red devil 7900 xtx and want to keep it, but AMD are making it hard to believe in them going forward.
thank you for watching
Rolled back to 24.5.1. Thanks. Every game now works flawlessly.
Update : even after reverting back with ddu to 24.5.1. the ideal temp seem 5-6 degree high. And takes too long to settle. Dunno why is that, previously it used to ideal down to 35-36C instantly.
Mike Ehrmantraut Kitty 🤣🤣
Fortnite was terrible with the RX 7900xt, 5700x3D, 32 ram 3600 and nvme 3.0. The stuttering won't happened just in the first game, but frequently, even after many matches. I decided to try the pro drivers and fixed all the stutters. Definitely a driver issue.
Yeap, fortnite has been silky smooth for me in MONTHS, but these drivers made it bad for sure
This started to happen to me. I was finally thinking I might have a stable AMD driver. Before this every driver I've used on my 7900XTX caused black screens in Hunt Showdown. When I used this driver the crashes finally stopped but now I'm getting this. I'm glad I picked up a 4080 super and had it in a box as I'm done with AMD gpu's.
I spent the longest time trying to find the issue with my pc. I reverted back to 24.5.1 and everything is fine now
I'm starting to lose my patience with AMD drivers, now I have to worry every time a F'in driver comes out, I'm not a beta tester, I'm a customer, soon to be former customer
Then you'll do the same with nvidia, they've been having some odd issues lately as well
So when i look at Nvidias driver site there no bugs listed?
After 4 years going from a RX580 - 6650xt - 6750xt I have decided not to buy a 7000 series Gpu and instead save for a 5000 series Nvidia card. Enough is enough for me and I'm with you bro having a head ache with most drivers from AMD and having re install older drivers is something we should not have to put up with in 2024.
Go buy an Intel GPU and tell me how it goes.
@@toivopro Because they just don't list the bugs. I'm not kidding you that's really the reason.
Yessss finally i went back to 24.5.1 first day i updated bc there was so many stutters
I feel you...
also noticed an increase in micro-stuttering in ac creed valhalla for example. Now I switched to an older version of the driver
If your game has a problem please consider turning on the telemetry in the Adrenaline settings. It’s below where you turn off Ads and animations. When you submit a bug report AMD only gets a nugget but if you keep that toggle on your issue will dry up in one or two drivers. The drivers launch for new game support. If you see new games coming you are getting a driver so don’t expect instant gratification. Your fixes come peace meal with the new game support.
Thank you for voicing driver problems! For Dota 2, the best driver so far is 23.8.1, I use 6700xt, I tried 24.6.1, it was the best of those that have come out recently, but the process was not smooth, unfortunately.
Your intros are absolute peak, plz continue doing them :)
these drivers are terrible, bf2042 crashes with error about directx...
2042 😂
I crashed in battlefield 2042 loads yesterday, then windows fucked up and I had to reinstall windows and wipe my ssd. Think I am going to roll back
Bf2042 was super unstable to begin with
@@TheSometimeAfter stop laughing...
BF2042 works for me, 7900XTX with 7950x3D using 24.6.1
Thank you for this video, we just put a new gaming PC together at work for the Boss' kid, and were struggling to figure out why Fortnite was running like crap when all the other much more demanding games we tried were running smoothly.
My card is fine. I got a Rx 7900 xtx absolute beast. Zero issues zero games. I’ve actually got better performance with each driver update I’ve done. But both games mention I haven’t played. So….. I get the frustration with the amount of money spent I hate whenever it’s less than optimal.
Depends on the game as I stated
i m having some stutters in War Thunder and less in HD2 with 24.6.1 on 7900 XTX
i've got some bad stutters in warthunder before 24.6.1 disabling SAM helped quite alot for me
Also memory leak, handle count goes up to 90k
handle? didn't find any memory leak though
Handle count of the game that is? Or of an AMD process?
@@AncientGameplays In CPU metrics in task manager, it shows threads and handles.
Task manager > details > add the handles tab.
The RadeonSoftware.exe had like 90k for me yesterday.
I had to spend too much angry time solving this myself. Found out turning off shader cache altogether worked. Forcing preloading in games. Anyways I have no ideia WHY they did this. Shader cache is ESSENTIAL
How did you force the preloading? That would be a good video
It's happening to me too, RX 6600. Played other games (non competitive FPS) and I didn't notice the bad stuttering, but Fortnite was stuttering and I had lots of FPS drops.
24.6.1 is literally the first time since the ati days that I have had driver issues, and it's for the onboard video since my main GPU is a 4070ti super
Overwatch 2 its big problem for me now..
Great video it helps a lot and end of the day Nvidia, AMD and Intel all have some issues with drivers. Only way is for everyone working together to let people know if you are having issues and then hopefully they can be fixed. I had a issue with a AMD driver pushing the RX 6600 XT so hard it made artifacts in games and PassMark benchmark so had to install the older driver.
After a few random crashes, even on idle, I had to roll back the driver to 24.5.1. The worst offender was when playing D4. The driver crashed, and even after restarting, no display driver was found (even if adrenaline showed the driver as installed). Had to DDU, re install the current driver (24.6.1) was okay for a few hours, started soft restarting randomly on idle. Tried playing Control and had a few freezes (had to use task manager to kill the processes) lowered frequency etc, nothing worked. I am back to 24.5.1 using my custom profile and no issues... will wait for a couple of driver versions before updating now lol
But....but.... you told me the driver/SAM wouldn't do this. Except it was this exact issue that would crash the driver in games with SAM enabled, if you disabled it, it would improve or go away for some games. That was the cause for many in Warhammer 40K Darktide. It's literally the same thing just now apparently more wide spread huh?
Do I get my apology now?
Don't regret replacing my 7900XTX for a 4080S one bit after a month of use. I'm no longer screwing around with drivers and random crashing issues and can just enjoy my PC. Guess that proves it wasn't a hardware issue huh? The card worked fine it was just certain games and stutters on current drivers with SAM enabled would crash it. Roll back to year ago drivers it didn't but then you'd have other issues trying to play new games etc. Guess I do know what I'm talking about. It was only a SAM/Driver issue. So I'll be waiting for the apology.
Funny part is, especially for the games I play the 4080S destroys the 7900xtx I had in performance. Like Darktide I had to run on medium to low settings with LOD etc turn WAY down, no RT (which is w/e I can take or leave RT) With FSR 2 enabled and I would get 90-120 fps. Now I have the game completely maxed (no RT, although with high/medium RT I still get the same fps as the 7900xtx) and I get 140-170fps, which I cap at 144 even though I'm on a 170hz panel.
It wasn't just Darktide though, it was similar case in several games, and the biggest change, not pissing with driver issues and random driver crashes. Went from a routine every couple days or once a day depending on the game to not a single hiccup once in an entire month. I've got no regrets getting rid of the 7900xtx for a 4080S if it means I can finally just enjoy my PC. I can fully understand why AMD gpus are falling and still not picking up traction.
I said it before, AMD is trying to rush to match Nvidia features at the cost of the most important and basic thing. Stability. They've been doing it for several years now and the stability of the drivers at least my my experience with the 7900xtx for over a year is they have gotten much worse. I didn't have the issues for the first 4-5 months I owned the card. Rolling all the way back to some of the drivers did help, but for current games caused other issues. I've also mainly had AMD gpus my entire life, from my first build I did myself with a HD 7870. I've had the 7870, 5700xt, 6800xt and 7900XTX from AMD. I've only ever had a 1070 and now the 4080S from Nvidia, so I am definitely no shill, but AMD is just straight dropping the ball on their GPU market due to their willingness to sacrifice stability so they can market features that aren't even fleshed out to try and match nvidia right now.
Laughs in MESA on Linux.
Funnily enough one of the mesa devs has gotten mesa RADV working natively on windows now as well lol so maybe it will be usable for windows users at some point as well - phoronix just wrote about it
I went back to 24.3.1. Played the last Descendant for a few hours it seems fixed. I'll play some more later on to confirm.
thank you for testing FC 24 bro! I noticed something lagging in the only 2 games I played first when I just bought the 7900 GRE and came back from team green. almost wanted to switcht back...
Glad I don't play any of these
Switched from AMD to NVIDIA recently, no more problems 🤨
And I had more problems with nvidia in the past year... every experience os different

@@jamminwithmatt5313 Ye i looked at 7800XT before getting the 4070 super but I was like, "Hell naaw, not a second time"
Not really. Just read the nvidia changelog. There is no perfect software out there.

I don't play any of the games mentioned, but I guess I'll skip that driver anyway. Glad to watch this video in time, since I just downloaded 24.6.1 😂
Thanks once again, AMDesus! 🙌🏻
Only thing I noticed with 24.6.1 on 7800xt was increased stuttering in diablo 4 in some cities. The game has always be notorious for this anyhow, but it's certainly is increased a little in these drivers.
Lag in D4 is still easily fixed with frame limiting, chill or frame gen enabling.
No problems noticed in any other game for me.
I update the driver 3 or 4 times in one year and I have a good stability in game. No issue with RX6650XT

I love that you are even handed, my trusted source of information to start my investigations. Thank you.
I've been busy with a lot of PC issues lately. Malware removal. Upgrading a PC. A power supply died and was thrown in the bin and replaced. A second power supply was too inadequate but still works i'm swapping it to a rig that doesn't use as much power. I'm stress testing it later. Ya know, just PC stuff.
Yesterday Street Fighter 6 was a mess, stuttering and fps drops everywhere, don't know what happened, restarted the PC twice and didn't work better. Now suddenly it's OK.
I haven't experienced any of these issues but AMD needs to get this fixed quick!
for those wondering why their monitor is washed out after update, go to Window's Color Management and choose the SRGB profile, set it as default. You'll have to re-apply that every driver update.
My mate recently installed a 7800xt as a temp card in a high end system (used DDU). He was getting major stutters in the Rebirth map in WZ which made the game unplayable. He fixed it with lowering the VRAM allocation from 90% to 80%.
That doesn't make much sense for sure, but...
@@AncientGameplaysI agree, his average fps was around 170 (3440x1440), but he was getting a long stutter roughly every 5 seconds with a dip to around 70 fps. He turned down some settings in the game which made no difference (things were much better on the vondel map). Anyway in the end he lowered the VRAM allocation settings (think that is what it was called) and the problem was pretty much solved.
Every intro meme so far needs to be compiled into a video!
This driver update actually stopped my stuttering when playing minecraft
Well, great!
My 7800XT also began eating about 90 watts (twice more) while watching video on UA-cam with newest driver +15 degrees Celsius fans stopped
I'm still on 24.1.1 because of Instant replay bugs. Audio video are not synced on newer versions. I frequently use AMD instant replays to record high quality clips for my channel, that's why I'm not updated my drivers yet. and still i think 24.1.1is most stable version for this year till now. 🤘
Yeah i'm back to the best Drivers so far 24.5.1 😄
Good find from the community. Personally I ply CoD MW3 only and I noticed even more smoother playing expirience.
I've been having stutters on the 7900XTX when playing COD Cold War and other light games like Prey or even BF4
I noticed the stutters in FH5. Usually rock solid 165fps but it was dropping hard into low 100s all of a sudden and quite a lot times too at random places that arent even intensive but the benchmark gave about the same numbers I got with 24.4.1
7900 xt user. These drivers and PRO version Q2 send the PC to reboot each time I launch any game. After investigating, the issue was related to Enhanced Sync. Also, VSR is broken. Never had such problems before.
In helldivers 2 I sometimes have stutters of several seconds, maybe once every 3 matches (5800x3D+7900xtx nitro+, 32GB RAM C16@3600MTs).
Dead by daylight, Tekken 8, Witcher 3, Forza Horizon 4 and Frostpunk run smoothly for example.
I have stutters in Fortnite and Mortal Kombat 1 too with these drivers, thanks for the information you bring us in all the videos
Hi Fábio, your post about this driver is very cool and timely because here for me, I even notice that it improved the FPS a little in BF 2042, but shader loading is definitely appearing frequently and yes, stuttering especially in moments of action in the game.
Like many people recently, I just abandoned NVIDIA in May, and came to AMD on the 24.5.1 drivers, which were by far the best I've ever seen from AMD. So when I briefly tried the June drivers, I didn't want to do full testing. I noticed even when not "hard stuttering" the smoothness was still not as omnipresent. I'd been dealing with web browsing issues on NVIDIA for 2 years and them breaking every other driver left and right, so not only am I used to staying on drivers for 4-6 months, I've also decided to DDU and stay on May drivers for a while. I'm just tired of these corps not R&Ding enough and don't want to be their test monkey. I think AMD will figure it out, but it can take them time. With the May drivers working so well, I just have no reason to upgrade so fast. AMD has also stated on reddit this driver (June) is a NEW branch, with 24.5.1 being the end of its branch, so that should concern some people about upgrading for a few months.
I used AMD uninstaller and went back to the previous version, 5950x, 32gb, 7900xtx - new system I just built - I had stutters with Cyberpunk, Division 2 and Callisto, went back to previous and works like a charm. I hope AMD releases a fix soon for this driver.
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is also broken with 24.6.1 drivers. Stutters to the point it's unplayable. With older drivers it's fine.
Not only was I seeing stuttering in games like Fortnite, I also was seeing my wattage for my 7900GRE go from 260w down to 40-50w when stuttering. It drove me crazy and rolled back to previous version without issues using DDU.
I actually have a bit of a studders Starfield. I thought it was loading slowdown issue but now that you mentioned this I don't remember it happening before hand
Thank you, I'd thought I was going crazy after seeing insane drops in Fortnite after updating
Weird, i was about to go insane of the warzone stuttering, guess i´ll roll back to 24.5.1
And this is the reason why I am still using drivers from last year.
Thanks for the video. i was blamming my card for these issues. Good to know that it was software side of things.
5700X + 6800 owner here. Everybody saying they're downgrading to Adrenalin 24.5.1 but my PC has full screen blinking issue when using hardware accelerated browser or apps like Steam when using Adrenalin (specially when watching videos).
Do you know what's the solution? Pro drivers. They just work and are extremely stable. Seriously, to whoever reads this, give it a try.
thanks for the DDU video too, man
got back to 24.5.1
I've had to move back to 24.5.1 because of the stuttering issues in Warzone. I did a clean safe mode cleanup of previous drivers before installing 24.6.1 and still had stuttering issues. It got better after reinstalling shaders and rebooting my PC but it would still stutter every once in a while. 24.5.1 is much more smooth than 24.6.1 in regards to Warzone performance.
I dont have any problems 7700xt! Latest driver. Works stuning.
I'm on the RX 7800 XT. With HDR mode enabled, I couldn't even watch a video with 24.6.1. It would instantly freeze my computer for like five-ten seconds. Constant crashes and windows lagging.
Downgrading to 24.5.1 would give me an almost 10% performance increase in benchmarks.
I've had intermittent Windows reboots and issues with the CN folder getting corrupted somehow, and it seems to have something to do with the Epic Games launcher. I can fix it easily but it's obnoxious to keep doing.
I'm kinda hesitant to get rid of this driver though, cuz for whatever reason Hitman 3 now allows me to put everything on ultra with all ray tracing settings and gets 120+ fps before frame gen with 4-5 gb average VRAM use, where previously the game quickly maxed out my VRAM and performed really badly even with performance mode upscaling. Also, minor ray traced lighting effects like the camera flash in the Holiday Hoarders level caused the framerate to cut in half, whereas now it doesn't cause any performance drop at all.
I revisited the game on this driver and I'm blown away to see one of my favorite games running this smoothly with ray tracing cranked up on my card that's not supposed to really be able to handle much ray tracing. No idea if maybe I had an issue before that crippled my performance in the game or what, but it's baffling.
Oops, I forgot to mention that I'm using an R5 3600 and 6650 XT.
I fixed many of my issues with these drivers using AMD Cleanup Utility instead of DDU! It fixed Lossless Scaling crashing & Red Dead Redemption 2 not detecting all my VRAM. Hopefully a fix for stutters for ya'll too. 🤞
As most of you know always disable driver updates via Windows Update and install them from the actual manufacturer Nvidia, AMD or Intel.
