I bought an rx 7700 TX about two weeks ago. I was so disappointed when I booted up Fortnite thinking I could finally play it in High Settings after 3 years of playing it at low on my almost a decade old GTX 1650 Super. Sadly I got nothing but stutters and unplayable framerates. I really was sad because I've heard nothing but good things from AMD. I really thought my new GPU was malfunctioning. I tried absolutely everything under the sun to fix it. A guy on Reddit told me he was having the same issues with his 7900, and that the drivers were most likely at fault. So I've been checking AMD Adrenalin for updates for DAYS now. I opened UA-cam today, saw your video and had to immediately go update my drivers. And I am now SO GLAD every issue I had is GONE! No more stutters on any game that had them. Thank you!
Glad it worked for you, for me it shat on my RX 6800 in CS2 in some cases i lost up to 50% fps. Will have to try again after DDU, to install agian and try.
Exactly this. I was going crazy trying to fix my 7700XT for a week now, was just going to end up buying a new one. Feels so long that I'm just paranoid with this new driver too lmao
Welcome to the wonderous world of AMD drivers. Be prepaired for a hoist of new and old problems with the release of each new driver version. You`re glad now but just wait for the next driver release, your troubles will appear to be back again faster then they where gone.
Yeah i was surprised when my Rx590 downloaded it, doesnt seem to add anything new to those since they are way old so its probably just for game compatibility, but its a nice touch still.
With this drivers i dont have the tab screen i guess it is called, in spanish is pantalla do you have this problem too? i mean i cant activate superresolution freesync etc
Why do you shill for AMD? Are they paying you? Just spent an hour trying to get this stuttering garbage to work. How come for 10 years of using nVidia I never had to once worry about breaking my system with a graphics update? Now I am currently looking at a pc that will not run after this. I don't want to use a fing 3rd party download to uninstall my drivers every update. Never had to worry about that BS with nVidia.

For me this is the best driver since i bought my 7900XTX 10 month ago. And i tried all of them (with DDU). For the first time i can play the Big Map (Urzikstan) in Warzone without micro stutters. I hope AMD will also work with Activision to implement Anti-Lag 2 in the new COD / Warzone.
try this method might be a windows bug messing with you so if you use DDU sometimes the windows updates can conflict with DDU and prevent the removal of an older version of the drivers you install. try these steps it helped a lot of my issues. Also make sure to be in safe mode when using DDU and make sure you have latest version! it really does help! i also have a red devil 7900 xtx and this driver has been amazing ! Amd driver issues resolve delete older version of amd software in registry 1. Open regedit 2. Navigate to: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\ 3. Find any entries that begin with AMDRyzenMasterDriver and DELETE ALL BUT THE MOST CURRENT DRIVER VERSION. For example: I had folders titled AMDRyzenMasterDriver, AMDRyzenMasterDriverV17, and AMDRyzenMasterDriverV19. I deleted the first and second folders, but kept V19 as that is the latest (at this time) Driver for the Ryzen Master software. 4. Restart and you should no longer see this error in event viewer
I can confirm that significantly more games than stated now run significantly better than with 24.6.1. The micro stutters have actually been noticeably reduced or completely eliminated. The same applies to Driver Anti Lag in combination with FSR3 FG. As additional information. The early access game Grayzone Warfare runs better than before with 24.7.1. Better frame times, 1% lows and less microstutter. Natively or when using FSR3 upscaling and/or with FG. (inclusive with Anti Lag)
Thanks for the honest feedback. Alot of AMD gamers will be happy for this. Do you recommend a direct upgrade through the Adrenalin app or a DDU. I'm kinda curious for the best procedure..
@@Ladioz If you're upgrading from 24.6.1 a simple, quick upgrade through the Adrenalin app is fine in this case. You don't need to DDU and you don't need a factory reset.

Idk why but after this driver the stutters are fixed and i have 20-30 more avg fps in fortnite but the 1% are lower and this driver makes every game fell more responsive btw i have an rx 6600
Btw don't use texture quality on performence is looking a loot worse than standard and it dosen't give a segnificant fps boost and also that amd api setting put it to use apllication settings instead of amd optimized will fix a lot of wierd fizzines in some games and sometimes can provide you some extra fps
I have a 6800xt and have been using 23.11.1 drivers since new drivers have been cancer until today. Haven't had any issues so far and have been testing almost all my games now. FINALLY!
@@KnightZeemo depends on price. if they are the same, definitely 4070 super. But usually GRE is cheaper and a better deal than 4070 super, meanwhile 7800 xt should be much much cheaper then.
@@KnightZeemo 7800xt or 7900 gre. More than that I would go for a 4070 ti super. 4070 super only has 12 GB vram. In my opinion for 1440p it is not enough unless you want to use DLSS or upgrade soon. Drivers are good nowadays on AMD and the only reason to go for an nvidia is ray tracing but ray tracing on a 4070 does not make sense.

Man thankfully is fixed! the 24.6.1 drivers were making every single game stutter, just to name some: Fortnite, Xdefiant, God Of War 2018, Rocket League, Halo Infinite and Mortal Kombat 1
it caused my system to endlessly loop and i had to downgrade to 2 sticks of ram from 4. i was banging my head against the wall and trying everything to get it to work properly again, even resetting windows and dduing old drivers. eventually, i returned to 24.5.1 and no problems since.
24.7.1 has high consume power on desktop idle confirmed. I use RX 7800 XT 24.5.1: 31 - 33 watt 24.7.1: 52 - 64 watt If anyone concern about this, I recommend 24.5.1 or 24.4.1
on my 7900 xtx with 2 ultrawide monitors i idle with this new driver around 8 to 20 watts hangs mostly around 15 , try DDU one more time and sometimes you might have to go through regedit to make sure it deleted an older version of your driver. if it didnt it can cause conflict. every driver install i go through regedit to be sure. its happily only happened 2 times over the time of owning my 7900 xtx which is the red devil as soon as it launched. here is how to see if you have an older version. Thanks Fabio, I'm always checking your videos before I decide if I want to update the drivers or not! My personal experience with Ryzen 4100 / Intel 12400F / 5800x3d / 7800x3d and RX 480 8GB/ 6700xt / 7900xt - Regular PC games mostly playing EA FC24 and Fifa 23, CS2, COD MWII and MWIII all of them were running fine, but the game I play the most - World of Warcraft - actually terrible from October 2023 until today - DX12 is 100-150% less fps and stutters and crashes in raids. I will test 24.7.1 and update comment. I will also test BF2042 with 24.5.1 and then 24.7.1 and update comment - On the other hand VR improvements last 3-4 months are a no brainer and keeps getting better. EDIT1: BF2042 is perfectly fine, no crashes/stutters with 24.7.1 for me with 7800x3d+7900xt and performance is better. EDIT2: After 8 months of digging and stuck playing at DX11 I found what the problem was in World of Warcraft - at DX12 the render scale is absolutely broken, as soon as u change it no matter if you increase or decrease it - it lowers your fps by 100-150% - for me it was from 430 to 130fps + stuttering and crashes in raids. At DX11 this problem doesn't exist and you can adjust render scale as much as you like and use DLSS or FSR freely, but for DX12 the fix is to keep render scale at 100%.
Hi, can you include Warzone in your driver videos? I have been watching your videos for a long time and a great part of the AMD gamers community really like the AMD performance on this game but some drivers destroy the game sometimes so I would like to hear your experience playing this game using the new drivers. Keep up the great work and awesome breakdown of the new driver.
On my 7700X and 6950XT with a quest 2 seems to have had a lot more stable performance and seems to have increased my fps quite a bit. Very happy with driver. Every game I play is now smoother and seems to have a decent fps increase.
@@Definedd be careful, you'll have a bunch of sycophants blaming everything but the driver even though there's absolutely no way to confirm anything without actually examining YOUR system. 24.5.1 has problems, but doesn't bsod. You aren't missing out on anything. 24.6 & 24.7 are busted.
Please do a video for issues! Amd forum is full of issues with this driver. I have two bluscreen with old dx11 games, now come back to 24.5.1. 7900XT here.
I waited with desperation until this video dropped before risking the update! The new update fixed all the issues I had with last month's drivers! Now we just have to wait until September for that AV1 recording issue to be fixed!
If anyone is having the issue with Radeon settings taking a long time to start and show up in your system tray, reinstall the latest AMD chipset driver. My Radeon settings was taking upwards of 1 minute to launch after rebooting, and reinstalling the chipset driver brought that back down to the usual ~5 seconds.
since updating to this driver ive has a similar issue, make sure chipset is up to date! i went from 1 min or more for adrenaline starting to about 30 seconds or less. also having the amd adrenaline . exe set as administrator seems to make it take a tad longer. mileage may vary on your pc. im also on windows 10

I tried the 24.6.1 and it was stuttery mess with my trusty 5700 and the 24.5.1 did crash more often but general performance was better. Division 1/2 and suicide squad / Fortnite / eafc24 . I’ll have to try this new one and see :) tx Fabio
@@babytronsab hi , id test a selected few games and get some fps numbers note them down . Do a complete DDU on ya driver and remove the chipset drivers . Follow ancient gameplays on installing the drivers properly and see how it improves ….. get stuck drop me a message
Same for me. I have a 7800XT and this driver is unusable. Just really laggy in general use and games just crash upon loading. Even if I load a profile that was previously stable on the previous drivers, it crashes the computer. Awful update from AMD.
my girlfriends computer has a 6800 xt red devil and i updated her to this driver it all ran perfectly fine actually fixed a lot of her issues that she was having, just make sure to go to regedit and make sure ddu actually removed old driver folders . reason why to make sure to have latest version of DDU. im also running windows 10 on both me and her computer i have a 7900 xtx red devil with only one issue which is stupid minor amd adrenaline takes about 30 seconds or less to boot after a restart. here are the steps to see if you still have older versions installed or parts of the driver in regedit. Amd driver issues resolve delete older version of amd software in registry 1. Open regedit 2. Navigate to: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\ 3. Ever since 24.6.1 I get extremely loud coil whine and it's the same with 24.7.1 I've reverted back to 24.5.1 and have no issues, it's impossible to ignore you get it when just scrolling the internet.. Dunno what's going on over @AMD.
I've been looking into this and AMD mods are pretty much brushing it off like a customer problem and making jokes about needing better power supply's etc etc. Kind of disappointed in the childish behavior from them ngl.
Are you changing hardware? If not, why do you use DDU? I have been installing the drivers from the adrenaline software for a while now and it's been all good. I used to use DDU for driver installs all the time but then found out it's not needed unless changing hardware.
I don't upgrade drivers with every release, I only use DDU after a few updates, just in case. Seems to work pretty well, possibly owing to more matured software and hardware.

Updated, 0 issues so far. Temps are slightly higher but may just by 1 or 2. Also the shaders load a lot faster compared to all previous 24.X drivers. From 20 - 30 sec down to 2-5 sec in total. Looks like the first good driver for a while, finally
The high idle power consumption issue in my RX 6600 with Wallpaper Engine in background is still in this driver version. Rollback to 24.5.1 when this issue didn't exist :(
OMG!! The stutters have been driving me crazy, I thought it was something related to full-screen mode or windows borderless, or maybe related to full screen optimization, or performance mode, or with wallpaper engine... I changed tons of things in order to fix my stutters, I didn't know it was my AMD drivers. I hope it's fixed now.
7900 gre user here 24.6.1 didn't work for me at all so I stayed at 24.5.1. Today I saw the newest driver installed it and hoped for the better and yeah.. its basically the same benchmark won't run and the moment any game has to render 3D the pc freezes and it restarts. Went back to 24.5.1 and everything is working fine as before. I think I might stay at that version for a long time😅😅😅
@@4bodeyt646 use antilag and enhanced sync, if the game has V-sync try turning that on see if that also helps, perhaps try reinstalling the graphics driver

Weed and videogames go hand in hand. I've been enjoying so many games lately. I got a great one last week, Dyling Light 2. The drivers are so good, I use Chill and Image sharpening and limit framerate to 75 FPS (75 Hz variable refresh rate monitor). Still a 1080p gamer so no need for anything too fancy. Only play about an hour a day though.
24.6.1 caused visual artifacting for me in the survival game RUST. I made a report and posted on amd website, hopefully all is well for that game as well when I update later. THANK YOU as always fabio!!! Need someone to keep me updated. 🎉
Again those drivers shut down my PC when starting games same like 24.6.1 did with RX 7900XT & 7600X... Going back to 24.5.1 where all is working fine... good I did windows restore point this time :]
@@sajithsaji3606 bro I installed those drivers after PC format to get as clean as possible, those drivers mess with my cpu usage which sky rockets when opening games and restarting my pc… also they mess up my usb ports need to wait 2min after reseting pc to be able use mouse and keyboard and put my pin in to windows login screen.. Im checking reddit since 24.6.1 and thery are very messy for many people 24.7.1 seems same :/ I wrote 2 tickets to AMD already… Im on 24.5.1 and all works fine. This is such a disappointment specially when Im on RX 7900XT and Ryzen 7600X… Im thinking now to go back to RTX after 3 years using Radeon.
It's interesting seeing AMD cards have issues with games nearly every Driver. Always nasty issues too. It's kinda weird seeing it as an Nvidia user. I truly have never updated a driver and a game stop working. Or suddnely allot of games suttering 1-2 second intervals. Nor any issues launching a game. Certainly no corruption issues, or boot loops lol. Man, the extra 80 bucks I paid to go Nvidia really was worth it. really enjoying my RT, and CUDA for my job. I paid more to play more.
I actually follow your previous video, where if I get any stutter in any games, I should report it to AMD, thank god AMD really did something good and pretty much solved all the issues that I have with AMD-powered laptops in this current version. Such amazing tips and videos you got there!
12700k and 6600xt massively improved going to 24.7.1. Battlefield 1 is working perfectly now, and the memory leaks I was experiencing on the desktop are now gone - went from 51% memory usage down to 26% with the new drivers.
I can't tell the difference I got the rx7900xtx and it just steams trough everything like a warm knife through butter. That's my second AMD build and I am very happy with their high-end cards. Raw performance over my 4070 is miles ahead.
To get all the menu items in the "Graphics" tab back (like it was before 2024.6.1), you can switch the view to "Advanced Mode" in the upper right corner in that menu

24.7.1 is great to solve game stutters but there is coil whine happening in idle desktop which is making me upset

@@Ladioz If you're upgrading from 24.6.1 a simple, quick upgrade through the Adrenalin app is fine in this case. You don't need to DDU and you don't need a factory reset.

Idk why but after this driver the stutters are fixed and i have 20-30 more avg fps in fortnite but the 1% are lower and this driver makes every game fell more responsive btw i have an rx 6600

Btw don't use texture quality on performence is looking a loot worse than standard and it dosen't give a segnificant fps boost and also that amd api setting put it to use apllication settings instead of amd optimized will fix a lot of wierd fizzines in some games and sometimes can provide you some extra fps

I have a 6800xt and have been using 23.11.1 drivers since new drivers have been cancer until today. Haven't had any issues so far and have been testing almost all my games now. FINALLY!

@@KnightZeemo depends on price. if they are the same, definitely 4070 super. But usually GRE is cheaper and a better deal than 4070 super, meanwhile 7800 xt should be much much cheaper then.
@@KnightZeemo 7800xt or 7900 gre. More than that I would go for a 4070 ti super. 4070 super only has 12 GB vram. In my opinion for 1440p it is not enough unless you want to use DLSS or upgrade soon. Drivers are good nowadays on AMD and the only reason to go for an nvidia is ray tracing but ray tracing on a 4070 does not make sense.

Man thankfully is fixed! the 24.6.1 drivers were making every single game stutter, just to name some: Fortnite, Xdefiant, God Of War 2018, Rocket League, Halo Infinite and Mortal Kombat 1

24.7.1 is crashing/screen of death for quite a lot of users atm.
For me (7800XT), freesync on = Black SCreen of Death when loading games
it caused my system to endlessly loop and i had to downgrade to 2 sticks of ram from 4. i was banging my head against the wall and trying everything to get it to work properly again, even resetting windows and dduing old drivers. eventually, i returned to 24.5.1 and no problems since.
Honestly no matter what driver I use, I always get driver crashes when a game is using DirectX 12.
On both the 7900 XTX and 3080 Ti.

on my 7900 xtx with 2 ultrawide monitors i idle with this new driver around 8 to 20 watts hangs mostly around 15 , try DDU one more time and sometimes you might have to go through regedit to make sure it deleted an older version of your driver. if it didnt it can cause conflict. every driver install i go through regedit to be sure. its happily only happened 2 times over the time of owning my 7900 xtx which is the red devil as soon as it launched.
here is how to see if you have an older version.
Amd driver issues resolve delete older version of amd software in registry
1. Open regedit
2. Navigate to: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\
3. Find any entries that begin with AMDRyzenMasterDriver and DELETE ALL BUT THE MOST CURRENT DRIVER VERSION. For example: I had folders titled AMDRyzenMasterDriver, AMDRyzenMasterDriverV17, and AMDRyzenMasterDriverV19. I deleted the first and second folders, but kept V19 as that is the latest (at this time) Driver for the Ryzen Master software.
4. Restart and you should no longer see this error in event viewer

My personal experience with Ryzen 4100 / Intel 12400F / 5800x3d / 7800x3d and RX 480 8GB/ 6700xt / 7900xt -
Regular PC games mostly playing EA FC24 and Fifa 23, CS2, COD MWII and MWIII all of them were running fine, but the game I play the most - World of Warcraft - actually terrible from October 2023 until today - DX12 is 100-150% less fps and stutters and crashes in raids. I will test 24.7.1 and update comment.
I will also test BF2042 with 24.5.1 and then 24.7.1 and update comment
- On the other hand VR improvements last 3-4 months are a no brainer and keeps getting better.
EDIT1:
BF2042 is perfectly fine, no crashes/stutters with 24.7.1 for me with 7800x3d+7900xt and performance is better.
EDIT2: After 8 months of digging and stuck playing at DX11 I found what the problem was in World of Warcraft - at DX12 the render scale is absolutely broken, as soon as u change it no matter if you increase or decrease it - it lowers your fps by 100-150% - for me it was from 430 to 130fps + stuttering and crashes in raids. At DX11 this problem doesn't exist and you can adjust render scale as much as you like and use DLSS or FSR freely, but for DX12 the fix is to keep render scale at 100%.

On my 7700X and 6950XT with a quest 2 seems to have had a lot more stable performance and seems to have increased my fps quite a bit. Very happy with driver. Every game I play is now smoother and seems to have a decent fps increase.

@@Definedd be careful, you'll have a bunch of sycophants blaming everything but the driver even though there's absolutely no way to confirm anything without actually examining YOUR system.
24.5.1 has problems, but doesn't bsod. You aren't missing out on anything. 24.6 & 24.7 are busted.
Please do a video for issues! Amd forum is full of issues with this driver. I have two bluscreen with old dx11 games, now come back to 24.5.1. 7900XT here.

I waited with desperation until this video dropped before risking the update! The new update fixed all the issues I had with last month's drivers! Now we just have to wait until September for that AV1 recording issue to be fixed!
If anyone is having the issue with Radeon settings taking a long time to start and show up in your system tray, reinstall the latest AMD chipset driver. My Radeon settings was taking upwards of 1 minute to launch after rebooting, and reinstalling the chipset driver brought that back down to the usual ~5 seconds.

since updating to this driver ive has a similar issue, make sure chipset is up to date! i went from 1 min or more for adrenaline starting to about 30 seconds or less. also having the amd adrenaline . exe set as administrator seems to make it take a tad longer. mileage may vary on your pc. im also on windows 10

I tried the 24.6.1 and it was stuttery mess with my trusty 5700 and the 24.5.1 did crash more often but general performance was better. Division 1/2 and suicide squad / Fortnite / eafc24 . I’ll have to try this new one and see :) tx Fabio

Have a 6800xt with a 7800x3d and the new 24.7.1 driver is very laggy for me in the software and on windows desktop as well so i went back to 24.5.1
Same for me. I have a 7800XT and this driver is unusable. Just really laggy in general use and games just crash upon loading. Even if I load a profile that was previously stable on the previous drivers, it crashes the computer. Awful update from AMD.
my girlfriends computer has a 6800 xt red devil and i updated her to this driver it all ran perfectly fine actually fixed a lot of her issues that she was having, just make sure to go to regedit and make sure ddu actually removed old driver folders . reason why to make sure to have latest version of DDU. im also running windows 10 on both me and her computer i have a 7900 xtx red devil with only one issue which is stupid minor amd adrenaline takes about 30 seconds or less to boot after a restart. here are the steps to see if you still have older versions installed or parts of the driver in regedit.

Ever since 24.6.1 I get extremely loud coil whine and it's the same with 24.7.1 I've reverted back to 24.5.1 and have no issues, it's impossible to ignore you get it when just scrolling the internet.. Dunno what's going on over @AMD.

Are you changing hardware? If not, why do you use DDU? I have been installing the drivers from the adrenaline software for a while now and it's been all good. I used to use DDU for driver installs all the time but then found out it's not needed unless changing hardware.

I don't upgrade drivers with every release, I only use DDU after a few updates, just in case.
Seems to work pretty well, possibly owing to more matured software and hardware.
You guys need use instead AMD clean drivers,do the same work like DDU,but smoothest and easyest!

Updated, 0 issues so far. Temps are slightly higher but may just by 1 or 2. Also the shaders load a lot faster compared to all previous 24.X drivers. From 20 - 30 sec down to 2-5 sec in total. Looks like the first good driver for a while, finally

The high idle power consumption issue in my RX 6600 with Wallpaper Engine in background is still in this driver version. Rollback to 24.5.1 when this issue didn't exist :(

OMG!! The stutters have been driving me crazy, I thought it was something related to full-screen mode or windows borderless, or maybe related to full screen optimization, or performance mode, or with wallpaper engine... I changed tons of things in order to fix my stutters, I didn't know it was my AMD drivers. I hope it's fixed now.

7900 gre user here 24.6.1 didn't work for me at all so I stayed at 24.5.1.
Today I saw the newest driver installed it and hoped for the better and yeah.. its basically the same benchmark won't run and the moment any game has to render 3D the pc freezes and it restarts.
Went back to 24.5.1 and everything is working fine as before.
I think I might stay at that version for a long time😅😅😅

@@4bodeyt646 use antilag and enhanced sync, if the game has V-sync try turning that on see if that also helps, perhaps try reinstalling the graphics driver

I just wanted to report for people, bf 2042 on 6900xt and 5800x3d, no noticible stuttering like previous drivers, you should be good to go.
Weed and videogames go hand in hand. I've been enjoying so many games lately. I got a great one last week, Dyling Light 2. The drivers are so good, I use Chill and Image sharpening and limit framerate to 75 FPS (75 Hz variable refresh rate monitor). Still a 1080p gamer so no need for anything too fancy. Only play about an hour a day though.

@@sajithsaji3606 bro I installed those drivers after PC format to get as clean as possible, those drivers mess with my cpu usage which sky rockets when opening games and restarting my pc… also they mess up my usb ports need to wait 2min after reseting pc to be able use mouse and keyboard and put my pin in to windows login screen.. Im checking reddit since 24.6.1 and thery are very messy for many people 24.7.1 seems same :/ I wrote 2 tickets to AMD already… Im on 24.5.1 and all works fine. This is such a disappointment specially when Im on RX 7900XT and Ryzen 7600X… Im thinking now to go back to RTX after 3 years using Radeon.

For those who are having problems with version 24.7.1, update the amd chipset driver to the most current version, putting an end to the stuttering.
This should be common sense, but people always forget so I'll be leaving an info on the community section.

12700k and 6600xt massively improved going to 24.7.1. Battlefield 1 is working perfectly now, and the memory leaks I was experiencing on the desktop are now gone - went from 51% memory usage down to 26% with the new drivers.
I can't tell the difference I got the rx7900xtx and it just steams trough everything like a warm knife through butter. That's my second AMD build and I am very happy with their high-end cards. Raw performance over my 4070 is miles ahead.

To get all the menu items in the "Graphics" tab back (like it was before 2024.6.1), you can switch the view to "Advanced Mode" in the upper right corner in that menu
