Michael, buy a lab grown diamond and take it to Peter Marco and Yossi Dina and ask them how much they would pay for it, but don't say that it is lab grown. That would be very interesting to watch their opinion on it.
Yes, very good idea
Adam, please pass this idea onto Michael
@Tamer Ciftci well that is why i want to hear a professional jewelers opinion. Without being said that diamonds are grown in lab. Would they find any difference between a not natural diamond and a natural.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that’s what they’ve been doing to Michael 🤕
@Tamer Ciftci definitely agree with you. It seems suspicious when the "lab made" diamond cost 5-10 times less than a regular diamond which is found in earth. I would like to hear Peter Marco or Yossi Dina opinion about it and then make a conclusion about all this thing.
Yossi Dina is already selling the lab grown diamonds for natural prices
😂
Everybody knows, that whole diamond industry is just big scam :-)) Just a simple way how to shave those filthy rich celebrities or rappers, natural or lab grown - it does no matter...
Spazik86 same with anything luxury really. They charge what they do because the market will pay it. An old master painting if you take in labour and materials is not worth tens of millions, it’s what someone will pay, it’s all smoke and mirrors
Timepiece Enthusiasm 😂😂😂😂😂😂
But you cannot get it. You don't want to buy this. But I sell you this for $2000. You cannot get it. Seriously.
all the rappers are going to love this
And their gfs 🤣
Michael: Are these diamonds?
Patrick: These are diamonds...
Michael: diamonds?

I’d be great to hear Peter Marco’s opinion on this!!
7 B. in diamonds, that' s more than Peter Marco has in his boutique :)
He's probably using them lol..
Peter will be upset.. I guess)))))
I'm sure Peter at least has a bunch of them in his inventory.
I think they made a video before mentioning it ima go look and see if i can link it
That moment when you can see Michael reconsidering a few of his vault investments
This is exactly where my mind went and I would have to imagine it could be a genuine concern for a collector (and jeweler). Of course, the novelty of "natural" will have it's allure but when two items are indistinguishable in quality but separated by that drastic of a price point it's absolutely a huge threat to the industry. For that reason I could see some sincere steps by big business to remove them from the market in whatever means they can.
Dermot Convery 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😂😂😂😂🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔😵💀
@@V0KAN If they are detected as "real" by tests, that's kind of a problem, yes?
Ryan Chase I mean it’s checkmate at that point
They should have the diamond making machine underground so they can still say it was "formed within the earth"!
It is
Better yet, name your lab “Earth” or “Natural”.
GREAT
Lmao
I would love that hear that they have around 400+ machines running 24 x 7 and can churn out diamonds the size of small potatoes within 2 weeks! Putting that DeBeers diamond cartel out of business will make us smile.
I think we need a video where peter Marco expresses his feelings of lab diamonds
I Heard that Peter Marco was always selling lab grown and got them certified as real diamonds illegally and sold them to the public at real diamond prices
This would be very interesting
shav legit I wouldn’t doubt it.
I assume that because of the "unfair competition" that this would imply for the billionaire diamond industry, laboratory diamonds are bound to have a brand or signature that makes it obvious that they are laboratory diamonds, otherwise the diamond industry would fall down... ... it is right ?
@@shavlegit7087 where did you hear that , bitch

Lab-grown diamonds have decreased in price considerably since this video was filmed 4 years ago. But because they are mass-produced that is the reason. I would definitely buy a lab diamond
My fiancé just bought me a pair of 1ct (each) lab grown diamond earrings yesterday that match my engagement ring and they are STUNNING! I began to prefer the lab created diamonds after he bought me a 1ct pendant which is also stunning. I’m just a regular gal but my jewelry says I’m special 💎

Not gonna happen. Synthetic diamonds are not a new thing. They have been around for decades. If they were going to disrupt the diamond industry they would have already done so long ago. Patrick Fay was not 100% honest here. Yes chemically, laboratory grown diamonds are the same as naturally formed diamonds and visually they look identical. It is not true though that the two are indistinguishable (for example fluorescence is not the same). With proper specialized equipment, lab-grown diamonds can be singled out. If you have your diamond GIA certified, they will issue a report stating whether it is laboratory or naturally made. GIA now sells a device that allows you to test lab-grown diamonds. Have a look at this article from the Gemstoone Institute of America (GIA): www.gia.edu/gia-news-research/difference-between-natural-laboratory-grown-diamonds
Since the two types of diamonds can be distinguished, there is a big push right now from natural diamond sellers to continue the dialog that natural diamonds are rare, made by nature and giving a natural diamond is the way to go if you truly want to express your love. Lab made diamonds will put some pressure on the price of natural diamonds but it will certainly not wipe them out. Also, since no major new sources of diamonds (mines) have been found in the recent years, there is contrary upward pressure on prices due to increasing scarcity of new supply. So, the chances of the price of natural diamonds dwindling down to almost zero is slim.
I would be careful about buying large lab-grown diamonds at this time. There are current a limited number of manufacturers producing high quality gem quality diamonds. But many many others are coming on line very soon. With a flood of new producers, this will cause significant downwards pressure on lab-grown diamonds as they become more and more of a commodity. So, will some of the lab-grown diamonds that currently sell for 30%-50% lower than natural diamonds, eventually sell for 95% less than natural diamonds?
Large diamonds have good resale value due to scarcity. What will the resell value be for lab-grown diamonds? Remember that the production cost of lab-grown diamonds is very low. Let's imagine a scenario where the actual manufacturing cost is $1000 for something that they will sell for $50,000. What is the incentive for them to buy back at a later date that diamond from you at a decent price (say $20,000-$25,000) when they can just make another one for $1000. In the long term, the buy back price will be close to manufacturing price, and not perceived market value.
