Shoei’s flagship helmet is designed for use in motorcycling’s most intense environment - the racetrack. It’s light, stable, well ventilated and offers great protection. Find out everything you need to know about the X-Spirit 3 here… - Авто та транспорт
I really appreciate this video, thank you so much! Just went ahead and pulled the trigger on this helmet and a transitions visor. Greetings from Tampa, Florida!
Excellent review. I broke down and decided to try an X14 since they are on closeout now. Hopefully it's worth the coin it garners.
I used to hate shoei, now this is the best helmet I've eve worn hands down. Also very light.
I would like to see more support on things like: How to adjust visor seal, what adjustments can be done with the liners, as I've 'heard' there are adjustment with no visual videos on what things do or why.
This is a cracking review with a lot of detail, thankyou!
Thanks for the kind comments. It's always a balance of trying to give as much detail as possible without getting too wrapped up in the specifics that are covered in the owners manual. You've given me an idea for how we could do our how-to videos in a new way in future, though - so thank you for that. Cheers, Tony
Most comfy helmet even in a slow scooter and in a most humid environment
I own this lid, and use it atop a fast naked bike, so I’m genuinely grateful for how stable this thing is in the air stream. It really is weightless at about 120 kph and remains super stable even well above that speed
whats it like for wind noise you know?
Nice review, what is the visor fit for the x spirit 3
Hi, thanks. The visor for this helmet is a CWR-1. The clear version is here... www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/206551 Cheers, Tony
Would you recommend this helmet for a daily use on a road? I'm in love with one painting... But I'm thinking also about GT air 3...
I know plenty of people who've used lids like this daily. Having an internal sun visor and a click-shut strap fastener (as feature on the GT3) makes life more convenient, and the close fit of a race helmet doesn't suit everyone, but there's nothing to stop you wearing an XSIII for daily riding. Cheers, Tony
Is Shoei planning any update of this model? Being it so long around ...
Shoei's MotoGP riders have been wearing an updated lid recently and we're expecting a road-going version VERY soon. Cheers, Tony
EDIT: The X-SPR Pro has just been announced... www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/articles/news/introducing-shoei-x-spr-pro-helmet
Very nice fit. What model is gloves and boots?
Assuming you mean the black Alpinestars boots and colourful gloves, they're Alpinestars SMX Plus V2 Gore-Tex boots and SP-2 V3 gloves. The white boots and black gloves worn on the Foggy Petronas bike are very old TCX RS-2 boots and Alpinestars SP-8 gloves. Cheers, Tony
@@sportsbikeshop tnx :)
What kind of bike are you riding on track? Looks like some kind of Foggy inspired machine
That's a Foggy Petronas FP-1 that belongs to Sportsbikeshop's founder. You can watch the video of the ride here... ua-cam.com/video/wIIv0dDNtgg/v-deo.html
How would this compare to the NXR2 🤔
This is more race-focused than the NXR2. Ventilation will be stronger and the aerodynamics will be designed for higher speeds. If you spend a lot of time tucked-in then the forward visibility will be better. I would say it's noisier than an NXR2, but I've not back-to-back compared them so that is only a subjective opinion. Personally speaking, if I spent a lot of time on track I'd lean towards the X-Spirit. If I was mostly a road rider and did the occasional trackday I'd prefer an NXR2. But there are plenty of people who wear X-Spirits purely on the road and swear by them. I hope that helps, and thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony
What is difference between Shoei X spirit 3 and X-14 ?
The X-Spirit 3 is for Europe and the X-Fourteen for the States. There may be some construction differences to suit the different certification required, but essentially they are the same helmet... www.shoei.com/worldwide/en/helmet/fullface/x-fourteen/ Cheers, Tony
