I like how, of all the Monsters to fight Nergigante, Bazelgeuse ended up being the one to give him the most trouble in a 1-on-1 tussle. He even started that particular fight very strong.
Nergigante is a ground-based predator. preferring to pin his opponents down before finishing them off. But Bazelguese is a master of the skies, perfectly suited for air-based combat; Nerg attacked bazel while it in its element. Despite this, the elder dragon's sheer power and superior fighting technique were too much for it to bear.
@@RubyCarrots3232 But kudos to Bazelgeuse for hanging in as long as he did. Few could stay airborne after a surprise attack like that, and even fewer still could resist Ruiner Nergigante's bites while essentially carrying something larger than themselves aloft and ALSO manage to briefly outmanoeuvre and damage said Elder Dragon. It speaks volumes of Bazelgeuse's place as a proper Elder-level threat in his own right in addition to basically being the sole species to keep Deviljho in check.
bazelgeuse, rajang and deviljho (basically all non-elder T3 monsters) are roughtly equal to elder dragons, they just don't have legends told about them and the power to stand on traps
Some say Nergi is weak bc hes a dragon who has no elemental attack For that reason he is a literal tank with high elemental and physical defence, stamina, regeneration, and hits like a truck on 120km/h
They also think he's weak because he "Only attacks weakened Elder Dragons like a Vulture" When really he can take them on either way and still come out on top
10.50 Now, don't get me wrong here. I was NOT trying to actively save you two (and also the tiny woman you seem so fond of carrying around). I like how as strong as nergigante is, it knows when it is outclassed. It never challenged Safi, Alatreon, or fatalis (but fatalis was in the old world, but still) because as strong as it is, it knows when a threat is simply too powerful to take on.
@@cowpokemorgan9147 Nergigante ran away from Teostra and Lunastra, and safi is a much bigger threat than the 2 of them. So he has his limits. Unless they make a brand new species or deviant, but even then black dragons are beyond even those.

"Black Dragon" isn't a level. It's an alias. You people need to stop hyping them up inconveniently. An alias is represented by what a certain being does. Nergigante is an Extinction Dragon and he is called that because he stops extinction from happening.
Nergigante is there to balance the ecosystem, which doesnt mean much when you try to compare hum to creatures who can control or destroy the entire ecosystem.
@@consumerjtc5835 Nergigante hunts literally those creatures. Even in TEPPEN it's said that he's a Legendary Dragon and a diabolical cataclysm who wakes up every once a decade to hunt strong beings.
