#19 Boat Kittens, and a Wedding...

- Welcome back on board The Piano Boat!
The big question here is: Why can't Masa practise?
In case you don't know us, we are both classical pianists living on a widebeam canal boat, with a grand piano taking up half the saloon.
Lately, it has been difficult for Masa to practise - and you probably already know the reason! Recently, we brought home two little boat kittens! We're very excited to introduce them to you, and no doubt they will be getting more screen time in videos to come.
The second big event (although it happened first) was our wedding. Not on the boat, unfortunately! But we had a lovely and fairly quiet day all the same. We had actually been engaged for too many years so it was about time!

Now for the really important question: figuring out the cats' musical tastes.
At one point, we had three, and it seems that Mozart and Bach were their favourites. All of them liked sounds close to human voices--choral music and the sound of the viol da gamba. Our last remaining cat is now about 20 years old, and I don't think she can hear much anymore, but I still frequently put on a CD both for my own enjoyment, and just in case she can still pick up a few pleasant vibrations.
Intriguing! So far, they haven’t shown much interest in piano playing which tends to be prominent on board 😅, but a good idea indeed to broaden their musical experiences!
We’ve been advised to put on some music when not on board which we haven’t gotten round to, so I shall look forward to playing a variety of music for them and see how they respond ☺️

Ah a good observation! Fortunately, they haven't been hugely interested in jumping on to the galley worktop (yet...food hygiene could be an issue anyway so we don't normally let them in the area anyway), so they have not met with that temptation!

Thanks for the heads-up! We naively thought ah well maybe someone could look up MOT records, but clearly a lot can be done with number plates...! Thankfully UA-cam has the 'blur' function, which we have now facilitated! ☺
