I've been watching David on Cruising The Cut, I checked his recent history, comments and edits and saw him mention this. My emotions are high already due to recently losing my father to a heart attack in my arms, I'm a mess, I then hear this heartbreaking news and it's got me tearing up again. No cancer is nice and I'm only 5 minutes in and I've had to stop for a minute to clear my eyes, I really wish you a full recovery and I hope the pain goes away very quickly. My father would've loved your boat, I grew up on boats and he loved his Yamaha Disklavia (That may be spelt wrong!) And quite often he would sit here with music playing throughout the house, yes, boats went around 2007. So this hits me in multiple ways and I honestly wish not just you Masa but everyone around you all the best and maybe one day I'll see you with your beautiful music serenading the canals and rivers ❤️
Thank you for sharing this ( I was thinking I’d not heard from the Piano Boat for a while ) . Good to see you both staying positive in such difficult and uncertain times ( My brother is currently having treatment for inoperable Cancer ). We are so lucky to have the internet , so you can continue to share your Music with everyone . Best Wishes to you both .
So sorry to hear about your brother. I hope he is managing the treatment okay. Chemotherapy was challenging for Masa but fortunately that has stopped for now. We’re just so pleased to have a period of time when hopefully he should be well enough to get back to the cruises over Christmas. -Rhiana
Oh my dears, what a surprise vlog! So sad to hear of Masu’s diagnosis and the total interruption it has been for you. Thank you for sharing your gentle, positive approach with so many. May your talent and music continue to bring blessings to you both and the folks who are fortunate to be able to be at your concerts. Joan 💐
Thank you so much, Joan. It has really upended things for us but we’re looking forward to getting back into the rhythm of doing cruises over Christmas. Hoping to get back to some normality sooner rather than later ☺️ -Rhiana
I'm sorry to hear that we have so much in common. Neuopathy in the hands can be very challenging. My oncologist changed the chemo formula as soon as I told her about it. Oddly, it persists in my feet: the soles of my feet feel wonderfully warm on these cool autumn days!--but the effect in the fingers has gradually gone away. If I let my hands get cold, I get "chemo fingers," but otherwise I have regained full function and sensation. So far, I have beat a Stage 4 and a rare subsequent Stage 2. Beating the odds has become part of my new "normal." 7 months and 17 days cancer free. Not much of a track record, but I'll take it. One of my comforts while not being able to move a lot has been watching your videos. Very best wishes--especially, that you be as ridiculously fortunate as I have been.
Wow, thank you so much for sharing this with us. It’s so encouraging as of course there are positive stories but we know pancreatic cancer is not something anyone wants to be diagnosed with. That’s just amazing that you’ve come past a Stage IV and II and very uplifting to hear it from someone! Masa has struggled with neuropathy in his feet too but doesn’t really ‘care’ so much as he does about his fingers so doesn’t notice as much! Very glad to hear you have regained sensation though. We’re sorry too that you have been through this but I for one certainly remain optimistic (can’t help it really) and it’s very heartening to hear your story. We sincerely hope your health continues and those 7 months become many more years. -Rhiana
That was quite a shock. I assumed that you were just busy and hadn't had time to post. You have a wonderfully positive attitude - and that's a large part of the battle. I wish you a complete recovery Masa. Both of you take care. My prayers go out to you.
Damn-it!!!! Why is it that all the good people have the crappy luck.I love you both, take care of each other stay positive.Bright Suns and may the force be with you now and forever my friends.
Thank you so much ☺️ it has been a bit rubbish but y’know, we’re still going… 🙂 and will be back soon to cruising at least, and even sooner with another vlog! -Rhiana

Thank you so much. It certainly changes your perspective on life, but I am ever the optimist and plan on having a long time together - and with the boat - yet! 🙂 -Rhiana
Thank you so much. We are taking each day as it comes - as I'm sure you will know all about! - but it certainly has made us both re-evaluate our priorities, Masa in particular. I hope you are doing okay. It can be a bit of a rollercoaster journey! -Rhiana
Oh my word.. I have loved the piano boat adventure, I love your boat and what you have done with it. I can only wish you both all the very best. May God be with you. I don't even really believe in God, but I wish you the best of luck and love. Fingers crossed for you. We all love you. XXX

I'm really upset to hear this news, I have followed the progress of The Piano Boat from the beginning and it was always the plan to come on board this year.
