- My first trip up to Durban, fishing in the Scottburgh Kayak Fishing Comp on my Legend Kayak Trident kayak.
Handled the surf like a dream!
The surf was pumping like Austin Powers, yeeeah baby yeeeeaah!!
I got out through the surf and was straight onto live bait where my Redeye got sliced by something. Was really rad being out in new waters. Unfortunately slow day for a comp with 3 fish in total coming out, 1st place a yellowfin, 2nd a GT (released) & a n 8kg bonnie.
Man those waters were warm!!
Sadly the Saturday was blown out & had to spend the day on the beach making sand castles...
Definately coming back to fish another comp, hopefully can get my flights sponsored else I better start walking!

Here in Cape Town it's 3 pelagic species. The rest is bottom fish... eish!! 😂😂

Surf is not always so bad off Durbs, just some days (usually every weekend), but just big enough to have to launch with rods in the hatch 😂. If you ever find yourself in Durban and lost for having someone to show you where the fish are then message me.
