I started with the first stand you showed and hate those! They tip over super-easily and are horrible for securing your guitar. Spend the extra money and get good one!!!

I bought a Hercules mini stand for my Steinberger copy that would slip on my regular stand and do a belly flop. While waiting for the new stand to arrive I figured out that wrapping the guitar cable around the neck brace a couple times kept the guitar in place very well. Well the Hercules stand does a fine job and looks cool. If you have finish burns try heading over to your hardware store and get a foot of clear plastic tubing, cut it in half and slide it on the stand's legs.

I can vouch for the Hercules stand. I own a Jackson Warrior guitar, and if you look at the shape, you can understand that you can't put that guitar on any kind of stand. The Hercules stand like in the video accommodate it without problem. However, because of space constraints at home, I did buy a side rack, because these Hercules stands do take a lot of space when you have 3-4 next to each others(they do sell a stand that holds 3 guitars, but you can't really put it in a corner or along a wall, it needs to be in the middle of the room, so a rack was better suited for my needs). For the Warrior, the longer pointy part does rest on the floor with these racks... So I do put the strap underneath that part so it's not resting directly on the floor when I put it in the rack

How do you feel about the Hercules stand after 2 years? A lot of reviews say some of the rubber in the mechanisms breaks down and becomes gooey after 2 years and the stand becomes worthless.
I have little A-frame stands that I love and cost me $20. They have lasted for over 10 years. They are great to put guitars on throughout the house, but the main flaw is that on most guitars, they interfere with a right and jack, so you can't leave a guitar with a guitar cable or wireless plugged in, or they will damage the cables/wireless or whatever. Using the A frame stands, I often have to resolder my cables at that end because they short.

Regarding the Hercules stands: I have two, same model. I bought the first one in 2011 I believe. The second I bought in 2017. the newer one broke and got sticky, the old one is nice as day one. I guess they changed some parts in the grip to save 4 cents. I have these weight washers and I tried to descrew the stand to just cramp the height down but the screws are so low quality, you can’t even do it without spending half an hour I guess.

And for those of you that have a guitar with an unconventional shape, like an Explorer or a Mockingbird, you might want to take a look at a fully adjustable model like one offered by Quik-Lok. I've always had good luck with them and there's also a Fender that has a set of adjustable legs also for a non-standard shaped guitar.

@DylanTalksTone I know this is an older video but I came across it as I'm looking into guitar stands for my epiphone korina flying v I just bought used, will it fit on the hercules without any issues? Also I'm worried about the nitrocellulose finish issue, im not sure if mine is or not and im waiting on a response from eoiohone about it unless you happen to know the answer to that as well. Thanks for any help or info you can give.

Cool vid. We have a Hercules GS412B which is slightly different from yours and it holds a Jackson RR guitar, again something that is normally difficult to put on a stand. The GS412B holds it at max extension with the larger wing about 2 inches off the ground and is quite stable. We also have some cheap Stagg stands that have a plastic clasp at the top which are great value for money and according to at least one retailer I looked at, are safe for all guitar finishes. They also have folding legs like the Hercules. If I had a nitro finish instrument though I'd put it on a Hercules stand anyway just to be safe.

I came across this video just at the right time cuz I was looking and thinking about getting some stands for my guitar because she had a right when the guitar is just out there and you can grab it it's a lot easier than digging up the case and taking it out and putting it back in and I can see how you play guitar more often but does anyone know of a good type stand for a Firebird or Gibson Firebird because if its shape I wonder how stable it would be on most stands I'm also thinking about getting some wall hangers for them any way any information would be great

In my opinion, Hercules as a brand sucks. The rubber disintegrates, the springs and plastic do not last as long as the guitar. This is an item I hope to only purchase once.

Hercules is the worst stand I have ever owned. They turn a real nasty sticy type shit that you would not like on your guitat or hands.

Totally not happy with my Hercules stand. The rotating finger that holds he guitar head onto the stand, suddenly flipped up. Instantly, popped and will not function anymore. $50 for a years worth of guitar stand. Maybe placed my guitar on and off it 100 times max. It took a month to get a response from Hercules. To assist me they wanted every bit of information off the receipt that I didn’t have - including the serial number which aI would have had to have saved the box too! What the…! Another former user, Sh*t out of luck. I just wanted help to repair it. Nope. No resources online. Shove-off Hercules and your overpriced imported junk. I’ll buy a rip off model that’s illegally using your patent(s) for half the price and probably get a longer life out of it.
