- What I've learned about wall hangers for guitars is buy nice or buy twice...the second time after one of your guitars falls off the wall. Big thanks to @herculesstands61 for sponsoring this video and providing the product!

Just watched this. First of all, you are my hero for catching that! My heart leapt when it started falling... you saved the day.
Hahaha, my reflexes aren't so bad I guess
Third slo-mo was the best
You can really feel the impact
That was a fantastic catch!
Hahah thank you!
Omg the slow mo again and again, with the look on your face.....SO GOOD!! And wow this is a really cool way to learn about Hercules hangers. I'm curious about them for securing guitars if there is an earthquake. :)
Nice. I had to buy a bunch of hangers recently, and it can get very expensive. That said, it’s nice to see the guitars every day and be able to easily access whichever I feel like playing.
Bought a bunch of the wall hangers last year. Great product, fits all my headstock shapes, even the weird Yamaha sgv 800👍
I'm so happy with them
Lovely video!
A word of caution, I had an Hercules hanger fixed to the wall with molly bolts anchors and, as my son kept hanging the guitar by dropping it for the last 1/16th of inch, the drywall eventually gave way, killing my old Black Profile guitar after it dented the piano sitting under it while on its way to the floor.
I was quite mad at myself and made sure, as part of fixing the whole mess, to fix the hangers on solid 2x4 framing through the drywall this time.
Even if the hanger's manual suggest you use drywall anchors, don't trust those. I learned that the hard way.
Oh man ... that is something I had not thought of: fatiguing the drywall from use/pressure over time. Thanks for that perspective!
Girl! you was like the flash catching that guitar though! Great job!!!
I had those hangers but with the 3 hole metal part that screws to the wall and they were all pretty good.....only thing I found with it is that the foam pad tends to want to eat through some types of lacquer on the neck and will leave a black spot on the neck over time.
Yeah, that's a big issue with certain guitar finishes for sure.
Their floor stands are sure great and can be relied on. However it seems they have a limited lifetime. A few months ago, the stand I had for about a decade (still a fairly long time), the locking mechanism of the height adjustment just broke out of nowhere as I hung the guitar back on the stand. Stand just went down and the bottom of the guitar (well, the strap pin, fortunately) hit the floor. The plastic for the release mechanism was all sticky for some reason and it was brittle (no excessive heat or anything, in fact, it happened during the winter and the stand wasn't near a heat source). So my advice would be, if the plastic ever become sticky, I would replace the stand before something bad happen. Note that they may have changed the kind of plastic they use since.
I have a hercules stand and the foam that holds the neck compresses over time and now it won't hold up teles. Kind of a bummer but I think they include smaller plastic parts to hold smaller necks/headstock shapes. Still sucks though.
Yeah that's that NINA system I think. Looks more robust for sure.
Maaaan . I really wish this video had dropped like two weeks ago when I was in the market for a handful of wall hangers.
Awww I'm sorry! I had to wait until I had a day to install just in case I hit difficulties.
Good reaction time!
Thanks!
great save
Looking back, I have no idea how I did that.
@@GetOffset haha thats ok, we all saw it and thats what matters, hope all is well - Cheers!
Cool video - sorry for the unfortunate mishap but you seem to have caught the guitar in record time! I am doing my room right now. I'm not sure that I am going with Hercules just yet (I hope I don't regret it if I don't) but many kudos to them for reaching out to you! I am in still calculating spacing for each guitar, etc. Also, I am doing some pedal shelves too - where did you get your shelves?
Those shelves are just from Amazon--the style is called "Picture Frame Shelf"
@@GetOffset many thanks! Oh, and I did order the Hercules :)
Yes. Yes I am worried. I'm always worried!
Yeah I always be anxious
Got Herc hangers all over my walls. If anything, Gavin them out and visible, it does result in playing more often.
100%
Good catch though!
Definitely saved it from worse damage
When my wife and I moved into the new house, the basement was a wood shop so the side wall was entirely covered in peg board… my guitars all hang there now… lol
I was seriously thinking about getting slatwall
@@GetOffset it works, but a lot harder to install
_Here's in slower motion_ *looks like a building imploding* with all those pedals.
Edit: Hercules wall hangers worked well for me so far, I can atest to that.
Hahaha you can really feel it
You don’t need the locks, only to deter theft at a show. The will not fall out ever.
Nice save all the same
haha thanks!
awesome save, coulda been so much worse!! others have learned harder
Poltergeist wanted to play, lol
Or attempt murder!!!
Good catch on the guitar tho could’ve been worse
haha you're not wrong!
Erm… 😬
Not the best thing that's ever happened to me
How about just don’t use wall hangers… Eliminates the possibility completely lol
Best place for them outside of a case
dont use hercules fail !!!
Totally not happy with my Hercules stand. The rotating finger that holds he guitar head onto the stand, suddenly flipped up. Instantly, popped and will not function anymore. $50 for a years worth of guitar stand. Maybe placed my guitar on and off it 100 times max. It took a month to get a response from Hercules. To assist me they wanted every bit of information off the receipt that I didn’t have - including the serial number which aI would have had to have saved the box too! What the…! Another former user, Sh*t out of luck. I just wanted help to repair it. Nope. No resources online. Shove-off Hercules and your overpriced imported junk. I’ll buy a rip off model that’s illegally using your patent(s) for half the price and probably get a longer life out of it.
