Tim you need to find another way in to your pond where no one can see you.haha
My boss has the same machine can you tell me why it has know power when lifting a load
Sorta like dancing with some other guy's partner. You know that both of you know how and what to do, but it's awkward as heck.
+Justanoldguy '46 LOL, that's a good way to put it!
Tim, you still make a hard job look easy !
Nice vid.
x2
I'm not laughing at u.... I ended up spending 4hrs swapping swapping my 753 over to Forestry control cause I was in smoking red oak stand when I got it and was tearing some butts trying to get use to it...I gave up...I don't know why the Forestry stuff dosn't have a valve to switch like excavators...
Hey I'm new to this channel...you ever run a loader before?
Just kidding man. I know the feeling. I get the same way even when it's something as simple as using a different garden tiller.
I vote you should of just went fishing.
hell bud you did fine for what ya had!! I really!! dislike all the heavy equipment now days! all joysticks sucks!!! I want my levers N steerinwheel back dammit!! lol LET'S FISH! TIM PISS on work!! ;-)
haha! i've had that same situation Tim, you made the right choice though if you went fishing you would be thinking about them boys the whole time, wouldn't of had any fun!
I ran a prentice loader for about 17 years then we got that very jd 437 d and at first i couldnt believe how fast it was . Looked like my first day for a couole days but then i could really get it done after a couple days
We know it was your first day on the job.
Tim your doing fine you make it look easy good job
man i hate john deere (loader) controls. not many guys can go between the two.
All those controls are adjustable
i thought there was a switch where you can change the controls
I ran excavator before, John Deere 200lc, so it sure would be the same
the boom on the other side is enough to mess me up not to mention the swing being down at your feet I've never been around a trailer mount but have heard they are a lot tougher is this true
you look cramped lol!
That's obviously a real practical problem for you jumping between machines when the controls are not the same but its made more difficult for you when the basic ergonomics of the controls positions are wrong as well!! Just how bad would it be for for someone 6'5" to work those controls - their chest would nearly be resting on their knees!!
Visibility is poor to boot but this is not helped by the truck being parked on your right hand side and the boom on the left side of the cab and the heavy grill infront of the windscreen.
Dan Whiteford it's better to load a truck on right hand side on them style of loaders because the booms not in the way of your view
Love me a good 437d.... slashed over 2000 logs a day in the mill for a long time.. only loader I liked close to as much was the 2154d but the 437 will always be my favorite
A three stick case backhoe is the same way for me . I have even crossed my arms and tried to operate it . Swinging with your feet is awful. You did a fine job man. Thanks for the video. I wish you would have gotten Phillip running the knuckle boom, tho. It's cool that you and Kevin bring him to the wood and let him learn stuff. He is learning common sense he can't learn out of a book.
Tim : I Can relate to what you're saying . When i 1st learned how to operate a Excavator i learned on A Friend of the family's John Deere Excavator w/ JD Controls . Then when my grandfather bought his 1st excavator he bought a 215B Cat . When i 1st operated the 215 I Almost slammed the bucket into the side of the Dump bed on one of Mack dump trucks . I Thought my grandfather , his Right hand man (who operated equipment & drove the trucks both) Were gonna kick my tail . All they done was laughed it off cause they knew i had been operating a machine with The controls backwards from what i was used to .
Hey Tim I'm a logger as well and run 210 Prentice loader but we are getting a jd 437 with a delimber do you have any advice for me on delimbing hardwood.Ive tried a delimber on a 410 prentice it worked perfectly for pine but was worthless on hard wood
i know what you mean between switching from machines. my 803 m track cutter is set up like excavator. the 437d is back wards. our loader man miss enough days to where it isn't hard to adjust to it now lol but before it was aggravating
Haha! Looks like you manned up!Work always finds it way! Pretty load! Straight and not crossed up!
I operate a barko 595. I'm new to the knuckleboom as of 3 weeks ago. do you have any tips as far as operation and keeping the grapple from unwanted swinging around?
and great videos btw. very very informative and entertaining. will continue to follow!
Hahaha..Woops Nobody's laughing, You can just tell you aint a bit comfortable..Your'e doing fine..BSafe Tim.
+Cynthia Herr after this past week and yesterday, I've got her whipped now lol
So true..
in the summer if you leave pine logs out do they get stain in the wood and the bugs that bore into the logs?
+brownlab3 yeah, if u don't get pine up quick during the heat, you'll have to haul it for pulpwood.
Love the pulp wood. Tim do they still have the magazine called Pulpwood Production?
I enjoy these truck loading videos. I used to run a Barko loader and it was always a struggle trying to get the correct weight and getting the wood to lay the way i wanted it too. You should upload more pulp wood loading videos like this. I like seeing the struggle and challenge of it.
i have trouble going between excavator and knuckle boom controls too
Still about 10 times better operating that than I'd be I imagine lol
You sure look like you are doing okay to me...don't be too hard on yourself
u done the right thing bud. I would of done the same thing. good dude
I feel your pain. I tried to operate a track boom not long ago and it's different
The Cat loader is the best loader I have ever operated.
dont let him lie to yall, this is his first time lol hahahaha
That the first time ever I've seen you struggling with a machine. Reminds me of the first time I drove a jcb 3cx having previously always just used 360s.
+Paul F I've got her whipped now ;)
What do you mean by "tie logs"?
For rail road cross ties.
@@cotontop3 That's what I thought. Very cool. I work on a freight railroad in NH as an engineer and mechanic, plus cut trees on the side to keep the tracks clear. We have a CAT excavator outfitted with a Rotobec grapple mounted on a flat car.
What antenna do ya'll use for the cb radio?
+Georgia_Agriculture we run Frances on all of our stuff
+cotontop3 have y'all tried a Wilson style out and if so how well do they work?
Keep up the good work
Great video
Good job
Good job
I knew something was up when you were wearing your Costas at work.
+Brenton Medders LOL, u had me nailed!
Hey Tim love the videos, is here a place to get the shirts online?
+Roger Jackson not yet, just hold tight for a little longer on that.
Tim, I have a question. How do you know how much weight is on a truck if you don't have portable scales, like how do you know how much is on each trailer axle?
+Clinton Stubbs the truck and the trailer have load cells that display on a monitor how much the truck is weighing.
+cotontop3 that is interesting. Now, I heard that a truck driver can measure how much of a load is on the truck by looking at the airbag gauges on the dash. Just wondering. I watched logging operations and they just guessed how much weight they had on the truck. Thanks for the response
That wasn't so bad! Also, you can adjust those joysticks up and down. Problem for me is when I put them where I like them, the left one hits the door bar when you open the grapple. I just open it ASAP so I don't have to push it over as far.
+Michael Hughes on this year model loader, you can not adjust the sticks up and down or I would have already done that.
I took a photo of the adjustment points for you. I don't see a way to attach a photo on here.
