    I'm glad you're making instructional videos. The only reason I can transfer with a slide board is because of UA-cam!

    Just started learning to operate the grapple.They tell me it may take a while to be more proficient and quicker.One guy told me he picked it up right away.I say different strokes for different folks.Im trying though I’m not as timid as i was a few weeks ago

    Similar to operating a front loader/backhoe on a tractor with a few more axis controls. Very cool stuff, this was a dream job when I was a kid haha.

    Is there a way to switch the controls like how you can on an Excavator? I’m so use to “CAT” controls, not “John Deere/Volvo” controls.

    I've been operating heavy equipment for 17 yrs running anything dealing with dirt work. The controls for the this grapple would have me looking like it's my 1st time on equipment lol, they're completely backwards compare to excavators

    • @johnvicol2344
      @johnvicol2344  3 роки тому +1

      And you'd absolutely correct, they are ass-backwards from everything you know!!!

      Running a excavator, or as how they're called pretty much everywhere a track-hoe or hoe for short lol. I operate using the SAE pattern & not to brag or anything but lol I'm a grade A hoe operator lol not the best by any means but I know what I'm doing. I can half ass operate with the ISO pattern but it looks like someone green operating lol

      My favorite thing to operate is a Dozer & have been told many times "not saying you're not good on a hoe, but you shine on a Dozer. My brother always hears the opposite. Alot of operators, superintendents & PMs considered him I've one of the best hoe operators where we live in southeast TX & Southwest LAST

      I just started getting my crane certs, and that's an animal all to itself!! But I'll be back working in Western Louisiana here in the near future, if you get involved in storm cleanup, let me know, we always need good operators!!! (Skid-steer w/grapple, bucket-truck, crane, mini-excavator w/thumb, CDL)

      Depends if it has extention, 15' to 20'. But it's been a while since I've gotten to play on one...

    I bought a freightliner rear mount rotobec 80 elite and I put the outriggers down hard and with it stretched out to the side the truck is tipping and lifting opposite side outrigger off the ground, am I doing something wrong or do I need to have debris in box for weight when reaching out?

    • @johnvicol2344
      @johnvicol2344  3 роки тому +2

      When you say, "down hard," are you lifting the truck off the suspension (with your outriggers)?? Make sure the rear (truck) is up and level, you have to be level and completely off the trucks suspension. Both of those are important. Because the only time I've had this problem, is while unloading, and that's just because I picked a lot of weight out of my box, and as I was swinging out to dump (very fast, because I had a double-pump system), the momentum starts pulling me over. And I was setting it nicely down, so the excavator could reach it (at the dump). But normally, normally (without seeing your setup), the system just won't pick-up the load, like huge stumps for example.
      Hope this helps....

      Hopefully you see this Brandon Kelsey I just bought a mid mount elite 80 as I reach out the other side comes off the ground with just the weight of the loader like your situation! Did you find a fix? Thank you!

    Just started in graple truck this is day 2. The truck I'm using is having a number of issues even the out riggers decompress while in ues. Any advice?

    • @johnvicol2344
      @johnvicol2344  3 роки тому +2

      Best thing you can do, is trace your hoses for leaks, once you get on top of your leaks, make sure your running your system high enough (10-11 RPM)... If your out riggers aren't holding, you might have a bad check valve (that's another video in itself), which isn't that bad, just get to know your machine, and once you get one top of things, life becomes a lot simpler...

    Tell the truth ..its fun till your at a 60 to 70 hour week ( storm duty)and driving the truck, every bump feels like a direct hit on your back , then climbing up & down even starts to be a choir ..lol running that part is fun , the rest of it is a job , like anything else , better have a passion in it somewhere ..
