had this new computer and it would freeze in the bios. i thought it was the motherboard so i got a replacement motherboard. then it would still freeze in the bios. i had two sticks of ram and i just replaced one in the ram slot. it didnt freeze in the bios anymore but i couldnt use two ram slots.
so i bought two new sticks of ram and everything worked fine. crazy how these computers do this.

Hi @Electronics repair school. the simple laptops have problem recognizing the double row memory modules, always try with the single row ones as they are most likely compatible. Thank you for all the videos, helped me repair quite a few laptops and a tv. Mersi mult Sorin!
No worries... im sure someone was stumped by this... like you said, i would expect some beeps or blank screen... not power cycling. Ill keep this in mind if i run across a similar issue. Great content... thx for the video

I do now it this problem . It is new for me. Normally the memory ram is never broken. You have long warranty on the ram memory because they normally never break. Sorin thank you for the great approach to finding the problem. It’s not a waste of time for us. BBQ 🍖 was great
Good to be back and I got some new stuff to watch iv been away for a while. so i got a lot of new material to catch up on. hope all is well. got lost in apex from one of your older vids. took nearly 400 hours of apex to get back. ha. i got you to thank for introduction to game. i never even knew about it. tuff game to play with a hotspot and a garbage gfx set. looking hot in london. hot up north to. who the heck takes a acer laptop in to get repair ? chuck in garbage and buy a good one. :)

Just a quick question I have an dell inspiron 1525 board which does not come on and I have found a resistor that is getting really hot but I can’t find any information on what it’s value should be , From what I understand it normally has a three digit code on it but this just has 1.5 on it. I look forward to any help you can give me as I am a novice at this.

Can you do a video on inside laptop supply voltages e.g 1.5V or 3.3V or 5V or 19V and what sections of the laptop does they power up..

Excelente vídeo.. Computer repairs its a hobby that I have bean doing for some time.. By charging some jibes it anables me to upgrade e by tools.. Just got a mothen laptop hp slim Silva I believe ddr4 with exactly the same problem.. I will nead to by a ram stick because I don't have any DDR 4 spars and I will by a new stik for testing.. Sorin, I have a Compaq Presario CQ61. The laptop only works on AC power if the battery is plugged in. If I remove the battery and plug only the AC acapter, the laptop does'nt turn on. Can you tell what is the problem? Thks.

please help.. i have lenovo 3000 G410.. issue is no picture on screen but the vga does just the backlight only.. i already replace the lcd flex and lcd but is still nothing i already reheat the the graphics but i think the graphics is fine what should i do

While laptop open its ask for HDD user password. Esc for master password.but i cann't remember that i was set this.is there any option to reset this or others.my laptop is Asus brand.when i give any user password it doesn't show any error code also
I have seen all kinds of weird issues from bad RAM, it is something I always suspect.
So how would you know if it’s the ram if the computer starts and everything

I wanted to change the ram from an old computer to a new one but when i did the swap, and turned it on, only the fan started spinning fast and the screen would not load, so I put the old one back and now the laptop just starts the fan and doesn’t load the screen, what can I do?

I had a faulty ram and I fixed it by cleaning the pins with an eraser it worked and it works to this day.
is this humudity that caused the ram to fail ?

Ram is partially broken not a dead ram. When pc starts the graphic needs ram to show picture (because it is integrated gpu), but with faulty ram it can loop or in the midle of starting windows when it needs more ram the system will crash.
I had that same kind of issues before, with the laptops i am repairing, and indeed it always point out to the Ram fault... Sometimes eraser does the trick. 😀

@@joshuaemmanuel3378 you can clean the connector pins using eraser. Try to rub the pins to remove foreign dirt ( most of the time, thats the reason why ram reading gets faulty, because of dirt/dust) Gets the work done effectively.
Can I just remove the built in RAM module from motherboard? I will just try with external RAM stick. Will it work?

same problem with my acer 2years ago. I tried to bring it to technician they only said just buy new one coz the problem is in the motherboard...so i just leave the unit to them and never came back!
the first RAM you tried to replace may not compatible with the RAM code
I have a Asus Eee PC 1000HD. Power is on but the screen is not turning on.Tried everything from UA-cam but still nothing.Maybe a Iam not doing the right thing.
I had the same problem the board does not support RAM memory because it is DDR3 and to the newer board should go DDRL 3 Sorin Plase lock that Ram memory what you tacke aut put it in another laptop should work.

the problem is a corrupted bios, taking off the battery u have done a reset. i had exactly the sane problem on the same model and i have flashed the rom.

It will need the cmos battery for the bios to function. So it won't boot without cmos

PC3L(1.3 volt) ram is different from PC3(1.5 volt) thats why your first ram is not working in this laptop.i think so
PC3L Laptops do support PC3..
PC3 Laptops don't support PC3L..
it does not depend on the number of ram on the bar? 1Rx8 or 2Rx8? Because I already had problems of compatibility with this difference but with the same reference (12800S)

My ram is said to be 1.35v as i searched the exact specs. I bought pc3l, but the speed generation and voltage were the same as well. I don’t know what’s wrong here

Am acelasi model de laptop Acer Aspire, doar ca e argintiu. L-am cumparat defect (ecranul spart) de la cineva cu 40 de Euro, fara modulul de 4GB memorie si harddisk (altfel era 75 de euro) si desfacut complet in bucati de proprietarul dinainte care din cauza ca nu se pricepea a distrus niste conectori ZIF si niste cabluri plate. Am reusit sa schimb ecranul si sa-l fac doar touchpad-ul nu functioneaza inca, poate e defect sau cablul panglica e intrerupt din cauza excesului de forta a fostului proprietar. slava domnului ca nu a incercat sa-l monteze el la loc, era tipul de om care ar fi insurubat un surub lung pana iesea prin tastatura.
Ce voiam sa mentionez este ca e foarte pretentios cu memoria, cand l-am pornit prima data a mers cu un modul DDR3L de 2GB, apoi in configuratia final nu mai voia sa mearga cu module DDR3L de 4GB si 8GB care erau 100% bune si la viteza corecta (DDR3L 1600), pina la urma a acceptat o pereche de sodimm-uri Nanya.
Maybe ram memory have dirty contacts, try to clean it with eraser gum, thank you for share your knowledge master.!!

I think one of the ram was ddr3 and the other ddr3l. Maybe the laptop support the later.

Remove the harddisk connect and check because if we many times force shutdown harddisk will damage
