    For all the people who were like me and wondered whether to go for this car. Do it! Having owned my Sky Blue i30N (Pre-facelift) for nearly 2 years now, I can safely say it is the best car I have owned and the only one that actually turns heads! It really appeals to the inner child in me and it never fails to make me smile. I'll run through some pros and cons:
    PROS:
    1- Car sticks to the roads like glue, it is tight in the corners and has rapid acceleration out of them. The handling is great and you really feel connected to the car and the car connected to the road
    2- The noise is the kind of noise that makes you tingle. The pops and bangs are common place in custom N mode and are loud enough to make you smile
    3 - The exhaust is loud and makes a very nice noise under acceleration. You don't get all of the noise in the cab, but from outside it sounds amazing
    4 - The customisation of N mode is great, you can set the car up exactly how you want it, whether that be comfortable or bone shaking with the suspension, yobish or refined with the noise
    5 - Whilst in this video it was mentioned about acceleration and drag racing not being this cars speciality, it isn't a slouch! I have beaten Tesla's, Range Rover Sports, Type R's, Mustang Mach E's and various other cars off the lights in the N. Furthermore, I have given Mercedes and BMW's a run for their money whilst at speed.
    6 - As it is a standard i30 on steroids, it is a practical and spacious car. 5 people can comfortably sit in the car with a decent amount of rear leg room. The boot takes all of the luggage that they will have and the car is powerful enough to not feel a huge difference with the weight.
    7 - The 5 year warranty is quite flexible. You can modify to an extent and the car will still be covered on parts that haven't been modified
    8 - It looks amazing, it is menacing on the road and has great road presence.
    9 - The power at stock is more than enough for a fun time. 275HP is not to be sniffed at and easily beats the likes of the ST Focus, Golf GTI and Seat FR. Golf R and Focus RS's you can still have fun with, but they can leave the N in the dust
    10 - The car is very robust. The standard parts can be pushed almost up to 400HP (so I have heard) before you have to consider fuel pump changes etc. to manage the power.
    11 - The front bucket seats are very snug and hold you tight when cornering at high speed.
    Cons:
    1 - The car drinks fuel. You put your foot down in it and you can see the milage reduce by large amounts. I average 21mpg in mine and that is regular city driving, nothing abnormal or illegal
    2 - On long trips it can be uncomfortable. The firm suspension may be good for cornering, but does mean you feel long journeys in this car
    3 - The turning circle is that of a bus
    4 - Fuelling mine takes an age, as for some reason the tank clicks at 10 litres below capacity. It then keeps stopping until it is eventually full
    5 - The interior quality isn't the best. The surfaces scratch easily and squeak too (my steering wheel squeaks when I turn)
    6 - Running the car burns a hole in your wallet. I've already had to put 2 full sets of tyres on the car, due to the power going through the wheels.
    7 - The Pirelli's that come on the car are dreadful. No grip and wear within 6 months
    8 - The car attracts all kinds of wrong attention. Thieves have attempted to steal mine twice and failed both times. Furthermore, it attracts other idiots on the road ALL OF THE TIME.
    9 - The paint is very thin and scratches easily
    10 - The exhaust in the quietest setting is still loud
    To sum up, the car is amazing. I would advise that anyone who is considering buying one do it, so long as you have the money to keep it running!

      @@georgebates728 ah yeh I have heard those focus’s are very good on fuel. But there are not many hatchbacks that come close to the i30N (especially not in its price range) for performance and sound. So the extra running costs are 100% worth it. Like you say, it’s perfect in every scenario.

    Nice POV !
    Picked mine up last week :@ , where did you get the intake from ? Did you install manually or through garage as well?
    More back road content would be nice , i think you can turn off the braking assists stuff on settings , only got mine to LKA nothing else.

    • @HammoTechReviews
      @HammoTechReviews  2 роки тому +4

      I have only had mine a couple months so still learning that type of stuff. Thanks for the heads up!
      I got the intake adapter and open air kit from Forge motorsport. That’s also where I am looking to get the ecu tune from as they seem to know what they are doing. (You can see The intake when I open the bonnet in my review of the car)
      I will do some more back road content on the weekend and get that up next week. Shame the camera can’t pick up the exhaust sounds as much as I would like but it seemed to work well.
      It’s an awesome car, hope you enjoy it

    Hello just saw this video. Not sure if you can take time to respond. i30N gen 1+ induction kit+ chip to about 320hp vs the stock Type R would that be similar? I can see the insurance for i30N is way lower than the civic type R and also the car price is about 3k cheaper than that of the civic type R. I can see people saying Civic type R performance and handling is better than the i30N but would that be so much different, if I use it as a daily with occasional family hauling/b road/ track day? I have also heard that oil temperature is a problem with i30N as they get very hot in spirited driving. Is that an issue you have encountered? Thanks

    • @HammoTechReviews
      @HammoTechReviews  29 днів тому

      @@Duck_Head I never encountered an issue with oil temperature, although I never drove mine on a track, but I definitely did drive with spirit! 😁 I think they’re a brilliant car overall, the Civic Type R is probably more refined, better gearbox and shifter feel definitely, and maybe handling. But nothing that’s going to give you a massive disadvantage, on a track they’d be side by side, and remember, the I30N sounds wayyyy better than a Type R. 👌
