Very interesting to learn about Devil's Fingers. A fascinating fungi with a wonderful strategy! Thanks for sharing the information and great images. Best regards, Cathy
Hi Rob this was so interesting and informative. Those devils fingers are fascinating especially how the tentacles come from an egg shape. They really stand out on the grass there. The New Forest is so beautiful and interesting 🙂👍~ Anna
Tx Anna, I was pleased to find these last week. I replied to your vid but somehow it wasn't accepted (2nd reply). I'm well but been very busy lately with various things (inc a new puppy called Dorothy) so not so much time for vids. Catching up now. Tx for watching! Rob
@@LivinginTheNewForest Ah no prob, us too, its the first new video in a few months so I'm catching up too. Your puppy I'm sure is adorable. Hope Edith is OK?
@@FXWalesAnnaAlf Sadly we had to say goodbye to Edith back in the summer. She had an autoimmune problem where her body was killing its own red blood cells. It's called IMHA - look it up. She had various treatments but she went downhill. She was only 7, very sad. That's why we now have a puppy - she won't replace Edith, but it's a new chapter. And at the moment, it's a very time consuming chapter :)
@@LivinginTheNewForest Aww Rob I'm so sorry to hear about Edith, that's so sad, I used to love seeing her walking and enjoying herself with you. Like you said, you won't forget her, this is a new chapter with a different dog. Hope you're both doing ok 👍
@@FXWalesAnnaAlf Tx Anna. Yes we are OK but Karen is still very upset. We scattered Edith's ashes in the forest where we walk regularly. Not sure if that was the best idea as it's still emotional to walk past her resting place. Life's hard sometimes but others have it much worse - we're fortunate really.
Wow, they are, well , ..like their name , I think. I have what we called in french " coeur de sorcières " ( heart of witches ) ,Clathrus ruber , of its right name . As filthy and stinky as his cousin, but, well, it’s a matter of perspective. I think I would be more tolerant if they didn’t spread in my garden... Thanks Rob for your new story about The New Forest 😊
Thanks Gaddielle, I'm pleased you found the vid interesting and you know about them in France. 'Heart of Witches' - interesting name. Yes, they do smell but I have a terrible sense of smell so they don't trouble me :) Best wishes, Rob
