Great videos of suspensions in full action. Very informative and telling on how our trucks work in real life. Not just parts and pics.
The whole time I was filming I was thinking one good pothole and the camera is toast. Thanks for watching.
awesome video on the 5100's. I just ordered front and back 5100's for my Tundra. going to run it on the top setting for that lift up front plus a space for the driver side for the sag. Going to see how this setup will sit before I add a lift to the rear. Thanks for the info before I install this setup.
@@gcyang83 you are welcome, thanks for watching.
Great video…thanks for the update on these 5100’s
Got my set sitting in the garage, just waiting on some time off to get them installed. Another great informational video.
Thank you. Those shocks are definitely worth the time to get them installed. I love mine.
Bringing in my 2020 tundra 1794 non TRD on Monday to put on 5100’s all around top setting with 1” shackles in rear Method 305 NV wheels and 33” Nitto Ridge grapplers hopefully it gives the look and handling I’m looking for
I was looking at 6112 front and 5160 rear but from your video and multiple others I’ve watched I feel for what I’m using the truck for it would of been money wasted with that set up
I only off road occasionally when I go to my gold claims up in the sierra’s twice a year and the roads really not that bad
If that changes I may upgrade after a few years
Hopefully it helps with the front end nose dive because the OEM shocks suck .
Thanks for the video subscribed
I’ll think you will be very happy with the 5100s and your new set up.
Bro you where right the look the feel , handling everything is perfect put the 305 nv methods (bronze) with the nitto ridge grapplers (34”) the truck looks amazing rides like a beast . Also put the Dirty Deeds BAM 8” exhaust if you don’t have an aftermarket exhaust check them out talk to Kieth the owner very helpful individual and they have a lifetime sound warranty which means if you start hauling a lot and the sound is to much for your wife and children he’ll take it back and trade you for something more bearable like the 10” .
Most insane warranty I’ve ever heard of
The truck looks and rides and sounds great . It’s like Christmas morning looking for reason to drive it lol 😂 normally a struggle on who’s going to the store for dinner 😂 I’m like I’ll go no problem ha ha ha 😂 anyways just an update take care thanks for the video brother
@@savagestacker that is great news on the exhaust. What a great warranty. Enjoy your truck.
Man thanks for your channel. I’m getting the fronts 5100 and alignment for $850 out the door. I’ll do the backs plus a sway bar in the summer.
You will not be disappointed. Thanks for watching.
If you’re just changing shocks why do you need an alignment?
@@flight2k5the 5100 have a different length and give you 1-2” lift. You have to get a front end alignment after. Also even if it was OEM replacement it’s a good idea to get an alignment. You have a lot of parts that get taken apart to get to the shocks
5100 seems like a winner. ill be sporting these soon
I’ve been very happy with them.
I had put Bilstein 5100’s on my Tundra before I traded it in for my Ridgeline. I to went from stock to Bilsteins and it did make a noticeable difference in the ride. Bilsteins are worth the money IMO. 👍🏻
Absolutely one of the best changes for the Tundra.
Did same setup except put my fronts on middle setting 👌🏻👌🏻
Great shocks.
I have same set up as you on front, 5100 on top setting... I know most people go middle setting with the CM Tundra, so I always wondered if maybe thats better. I dead level as It sits now, no topper.
Question... Did you notice a difference with the 5100s on the rear axle? I'm still stock SR5 shock on the rear and question if there would be any noticeable gain. With no topper, and being so light in the rear, do you think it would matter what shock I run? I suppose it might plant the truck more, or lessen roll... much like a sway bar.
Your thoughts? Experience?
Correct the rear 5100s do help with body roll and are specifically made for a lifted truck whereas OEMs are not. I do not think there would be any extra lift with the rear 5100s. You would have to add as block, shackles or Airbags for that.
Hey brother are you running stock springs
Yes, they are the OEM springs for the 5.7 V8. I put the shocks on when the truck was new, so if your truck has over a hundred thousand miles of hard use I would replace the springs.
Thanks I've got a 08 tundra crewmax with 172ooo on it I'm definitely going to try the 1500 really enjoyed your videos Thanks again
@@briansalling1707 thank you for watching.
Thinking of doing 5100s all the way around and coachbuilder 1” shackle in the back. I think that would make it sit pretty perfect with highest setting on the front.
The ride quality is great.
Can’t wait! Coachbuilder recommended doing the +3” shackle. Gives it 1.75” lift in the back. He said this will work perfect with the .5” shims up front . It will keep the rake enough to make the TSS sensor work properly. Did you have any issues with that?
@@rjnoj-xb5kq my 21 Tundra SR5 crew 4x4 with the towing package came with an aggressive rake. I assume that was for towing and tongue weight. I installed the 5100s and set the spring perch to the highest point for the most lift 2.25-2.5” of front lift. That alone leveled the vehicle but I was worried about sag when I load up the back. So later that month I installed the airbags and cradles. Note: I have 5100s all the way around. OEM and Bilstein 4600s aren’t really made for any sort of lift which is why I did all of them. I really like the ride I have loaded or unloaded, the Bilsteins make a real difference. Thanks for watching.
@@828findadventuregood stuff! Thanks!
Are you running any coach build shackles?
@@qouavang3646 no, just the Airbags and Bilstein 5100s.
Hey what headlights are on that Tundra? Thanks.
I am running the OEM halogen headlamps that came on the 21 SR5, with these bulbs. amzn.to/3T3EhJq
@@828findadventure So your truck did come with the LED DRL strip at the bottom of the headlight.
@@DatdudeTi yes, I’m still trying to figure out if it is actually LED without removing the headlamp which is a pain,
@@828findadventure Well what was the OEM headlight function? Cuz my 2017 Platinum is halogen hi/low bulbs but has the OEM LED strip at the bottom of the headlight. I guess what I get at is did your OEM lights have the LED strip?????? An do the new have it or what is your DRL cuz the lower models it was the Turn signal as the DRL.
@@DatdudeTi that lower strip on mine is DRL, but doesn’t not work as turn. That would be cool in Amber though.
