Tevia Talks to God
Вставка
- Опубліковано 17 жов 2009
- Tevia (Tevye) from Fiddler on the Roof talks to God. Reminds me of King David talking to God. Great passion, honesty, like a man talking and sharing with a great friend...and in SONG! I'm certainly not advocating asking God for worldly riches...but talking to God the way Tevia (and probably King David) did.
And now, Tevye is talking to God for Real.
Because our Beloved Topol, who played the character, just Passed Away Today at the age of 87, after a fight against Alzheimer
May God rest his soul in peace.amen
😞ברוך דיין האמת.
We adored Chaim Topol. RIP
I absolutely adore how he avoids directly insulting God while talking to Him.
A beautiful musical film in which every character played the part naturally.
I have never been too religious but this is honestly very endearing, Like I have a strange respect for this.
When piety is cloaked with a heavy garment of humility - the results, I suspect, would be heartening...
Jesus being identified as a drunken - and heard gladly by the common man - and despised by the religious establishment, e.g. white American evangelicalism, might all provide a clue...🙂🙂
religion dont need your respect kid
@@ms.stability what’s that supposed to mean asshole
In my headcanon after being forced to leave Anatevka, he finally strikes it rich and gets to sit and pray to God.
Fiddler on the roof
One of the best performances of all time.
Absolutely!!
You are right!! The best of all time!!
He was amazing!
BUt what have you got against my horse?! LOL
That's like Daryl from the Walking Dead TV show saying about me (Hannah L.M Alexander)"But what have you got against my girl?"
This is exactly how God wants you to be with him
This is the most loved musical movie i love
I have always said that my favourite song from Fiddler is L'Chaim (To Life). And while that is true, this is the absolute best number in the show. Just a man, speaking to his G-d and not really asking for anything, other than the time to "sit in a synagogue and pray". All the other things he talks about pale in comparison, because "that would be the sweetest thing of all". It tells you a lot about what kind of man Tevye is, and makes him all the more heroic. And a hero is what he is. Without a doubt.
Why did you censor God lol
@@BarthvaderHalloween I didn't censor G-d. G-d's name is not supposed to be written out when speaking of him. Or, for that matter, speaking either. That is why Jews call him Hashem. It is a way to reference G-d without saying His name.
@@haroldpolsky2984 Oh okay I understand. Thanks for the info!
Everyone favourite lyrics even in modern era "If I were a wealthy man I wouldn't have to work hard"😅🤣
This is more than amazing: iconic, archetypical!
Milk sellers are really good still today we are respect in India ✌️-Punjani culture know i have.
LORD, have mercy upon us...
Fiddler on the roof 😊
I love this movie! ❤❤❤
"Squawking just as noisily as they can"3:59"my favorite line.
I knew an actor who told me he practiced for Tevye's talks with God by saying them to his cat.
Cats are gods.
Fiddler on the roof
Madalena oleeeee el baile y el cante kesepega hablando con dios oleeeee
"You can die from such a man." :D LOL!
San La Muerte
I don't think Tevye is seriously asking for worldly riches, but he's more or less condemning or complaining about the existence of wealth. Because Tevye is critical of the idleness, waste and vanity of the rich in this song
Plutus
Where the deliveries ever made?
What's with all the singing? He has deliveries to make!
And he will be late for Shabat!
😀
@@greglogan7706 Well, he's talking to God so it would probably be forgiven.
that's praying with Chutzpah .,. like Moses or Abraham did
Many Jewish men do this irl
"I'm starving to death"2:07. Then eat. If you're staving to death, you should eat, man. You're a poor-rich man. Father of five daughters who are at the moment unmarried.
Barbie Alexander ....
@@AlejandroSanchez-pl6jw Yeah? What about me?
@@barbiealexander2744 eat!
Ah yes but the movie is about letting them choose love and their own life
first things first, then he eats
