No matter what it takes, I’m getting this degree and I will be apart of the top 1% of electrical engineers. I came from poverty but I’m not going to stay in poverty. I was made to be an engineer and this is my purpose no matter what people say. I love physics and electronics and have a deep passion for it. These are some good videos that people need to see and listen too more. I’m 24 but if I had this advice when I was 18 I would be in a different place but that’s okay because the advice you give are reaching a lot of people thank you!

Whilst I am not a US student (UK) I was genuinely wondering if you had advice on being completely and utterly overwhelmed with my electrical/electronic engineering degree. I appreciate that, by feeling like it's too much sometimes alone, I am part of the 50% you mention but I thought I'd ask regardless.
Im that 1 out of 100 (at least I believe that I am) 💪. I agree a lot with your emphasis on following your passion to motivate you for hardwork instead of relying on external motivation like money which won't be enough to drive you when things get hard. It doesn't even make sense to dedicate yourself to something you don't like doing even if you're earning a lot cause you won't enjoy your life anyways.

28 now, did a business degree before and I’m now doing a second degree in math and stats. 100% would not have been able to handle this when I was younger. But I don’t regret it much, I’m happy I got to work on my soft skills in my first degree and I have a clear idea on why I’m back in school. Even though I’m more mature (or so I’d like to think), I originally enrolled as a part-time non-degree student, I still had to* late withdraw from a course once or twice. Now that I’m accustomed to the workload and full-time I’m getting straight As.
After my business degree I felt as though my knowledge lacked foundation. Now I’m happy that I can derive some of the formulas that I had to memorize for my exams while not understanding where there came from, still I continue to realize that I know nothing lol

I am not sure where you are getting these statistics. I am a senior mechanical engineering major right now. White men are dominating electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering. In my mechanical cohort, which is a massive program, less than 10% are women. If that. Maybe the stem umbrella is saturated because more women go into biology and there are more majors there than there are engineers in stem and that’s what is saturating the statistics. But from my experience, in engineering, this isn’t true at all. In fact, the only engineering major where it’s roughly equal is biomedical- where they forgo advanced physics for memory intensive biology classes. It’s not true in math either. Half my friends are math majors and women are less than 10% there, too. Another possible explanation is less woman go into engineering-which has a high failure rate. Women who go into STEM dominate biology. It’s an easier degree so they finish it. 50% of people flunk out of engineering, most of which are men. So it appears women have high STEM completion but they’re completing less rigorous degrees with lower fail rates. Research comports this intuition, too. 60% of biology majors are women. 90% of MechE and electric majors are men.
As an engineer, I would think you'd take a deeper look into the studies by doing research. In the US, only 42% of students in college are male. Amongst the male students about exactly half are white. half of these students do not complete a stem degree. 15% are not from america. More than half are over the age of 25. The numbes would suggest, and based on my personal observations, if you are a white male age 18-24 us born american raised, you are 90% unlikely to finish a STEM degree. I dont want a high paying job. I want a job that actually creates value and purpose and advances the technology. I dont want to waste my time trying to make $12 boards cheaper and faster but they break after two years. I dont want to be listening to a supervisor who has lost his ambition and drive to create something better because his wife left him. I want my effort and work to actually be useful. Because and engineer solves problems. Lately its them that have been causing them. All love doe🖤. Maybe people need to stop worriyng about the money and actually doing something with what they are teaching. Maybe they pobably need to start eating better before telling those that make good choices everyday to make "better choices".

No matter what it takes, I’m getting this degree and I will be apart of the top 1% of electrical engineers. I came from poverty but I’m not going to stay in poverty. I was made to be an engineer and this is my purpose no matter what people say. I love physics and electronics and have a deep passion for it. Whilst I am not a US student (UK) I was genuinely wondering if you had advice on being completely and utterly overwhelmed with my electrical/electronic engineering degree. I appreciate that, by feeling like it's too much sometimes alone, I am part of the 50% you mention but I thought I'd ask regardless.

I treat college like a job. My classmates barely show up to class and think I am a genius. haha
Im that 1 out of 100 (at least I believe that I am) 💪. I agree a lot with your emphasis on following your passion to motivate you for hardwork instead of relying on external motivation like money which won't be enough to drive you when things get hard. It doesn't even make sense to dedicate yourself to something you don't like doing even if you're earning a lot cause you won't enjoy your life anyways.
It's the little ones that matter :)

28 now, did a business degree before and I’m now doing a second degree in math and stats. 100% would not have been able to handle this when I was younger. But I don’t regret it much, I’m happy I got to work on my soft skills in my first degree and I have a clear idea on why I’m back in school. Even though I’m more mature (or so I’d like to think), I originally enrolled as a part-time non-degree student, I still had to* late withdraw from a course once or twice. Now that I’m accustomed to the workload and full-time I’m getting straight As.
After my business degree I felt as though my knowledge lacked foundation. Now I’m happy that I can derive some of the formulas that I had to memorize for my exams while not understanding where there came from, still I continue to realize that I know nothing lol

I am not sure where you are getting these statistics. I am a senior mechanical engineering major right now. White men are dominating electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering. In my mechanical cohort, which is a massive program, less than 10% are women. If that. Maybe the stem umbrella is saturated because more women go into biology and there are more majors there than there are engineers in stem and that’s what is saturating the statistics. But from my experience, in engineering, this isn’t true at all. In fact, the only engineering major where it’s roughly equal is biomedical- where they forgo advanced physics for memory intensive biology classes. It’s not true in math either. Half my friends are math majors and women are less than 10% there, too.
Another possible explanation is less woman go into engineering-which has a high failure rate. Women who go into STEM dominate biology. It’s an easier degree so they finish it. 50% of people flunk out of engineering, most of which are men. So it appears women have high STEM completion but they’re completing less rigorous degrees with lower fail rates.
Research comports this intuition, too. 60% of biology majors are women. 90% of MechE and electric majors are men.
As an engineer, I would think you'd take a deeper look into the studies by doing research.
In the US, only 42% of students in college are male. Amongst the male students about exactly half are white.
half of these students do not complete a stem degree.
15% are not from america.
More than half are over the age of 25.
The numbes would suggest, and based on my personal observations, if you are a white male age 18-24 us born american raised, you are 90% unlikely to finish a STEM degree. This is an average of the whole-not your class alone.

Firstly I wanted to say that I found your channel very recently and I found your content very enlightening and eye opening, so thank you for all your content sir. Sir my question is that I am a psychology major, and I know you mostly focus on STEM major, however I would like your advice on what steps I can take to thoroughly understand the research methods and analysis part of psychology, since that is something I struggle with, and I would like to in the future be actively working in the field of psychology (I am a second year uni student), and I fully understand that RMA is a crucial part of psychology which I must learn how it works, not just to pass the courses related to it in uni. Do you think it's a good idea to write using a fountain pen and notebooks, or should we try using a computer directly, like you do?
It is a good idea to learn how to use as many software applications at a professional level as possible before graduation. Challenge yourself or remain the same. Your choice.
I've been basically crawling through a degree that I was kinda pushed into by my parents, and basically I am a huge fuckup.
No idea what I can do now really.
Maybe Master's?
it’s okay to feel lost sometimes, but you’re not a fuckup-you’re just figuring things out. if a master’s aligns with what you actually want, go for it, but make sure it’s a step toward something meaningful for you, not just a way to keep going aimlessly.

I dont want a high paying job. I want a job that actually creates value and purpose and advances the technology. I dont want to waste my time trying to make $12 boards cheaper and faster but they break after two years. I dont want to be listening to a supervisor who has lost his ambition and drive to create something better because his wife left him. I want my effort and work to actually be useful. Because and engineer solves problems. Lately its them that have been causing them. All love doe🖤. Maybe people need to stop worriyng about the money and actually doing something with what they are teaching. Maybe they pobably need to start eating better before telling those that make good choices everyday to make "better choices".
Good goal! Don't get comfortable, comfort will destroy that mentality. The second you use a bidet, toilet paper will become the tool of a primitive neanderthal hahahaha
