I love Beatrice Potter but I didn't realize there were so many books about her. What an amazing collection. I will start looking for books about Beatrice Potter for my great grandchild. We have the PETER RABBIT SERIES. I HAVE ONE OR TWO ABOUT TASHA TUDOR. HAVE MANY BOOK COLLECTION. NEED MORE BOOK SHELVES. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL ❤
I miss my little English grandmother so much. She passed 10 years ago at 93. Still sharp as a pin and did her own housekeeping to the end. Although there was nothing fancy about her cups and serve ware, my mom and I, even sometimes my husband, would sit for hours and chat having several pots of tea and biscuits (cookies). We never missed a chance to do this at the holidays too. I know it sounds terribly old fashioned but they are my most treasured memories of very simple afternoons for many many years (decades) until I was mid 50’s and she was early 90’s. She loved her English biscuits. Now the tradition is naturally carried on with my mom whenever we visit. Both my mom and grandma loved their gardens and flowers. My mom is 83 and still gets out there doing what she can. Then she still quilts and LOVES color and design. Having tea and connecting with others is something that really needs to come back. Who needs cell phones and the internet when we can connect over tea!! Thanks for reminding me of this cherished time. 😊. I also have been thinking of ways to bring the garden in so I can savor it a bit longer!!
That's a treasure of a memory with your Grandmother and mom, simple things like that have such meaning. . I always serve tea to my guests, some of whom have never had a Proper Tea. My mom is 93 and she still loves her Tea and books.
Janette, I really enjoyed reading your comment. Sharing afternoon tea with others is always time well spent. It's great that you have such wonderful memories of your dear grandmother, and are continuing this simple, yet worthwhile ritual with your mum : )
“Keeper of the past”, yes, I too relish that small fragment of another time, another place. I often think of all those items, who has owned them, the lives of the owners, the daily life and then death. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Blessings 🐶🐾🐾🍁🍂
Oh how I wish I lived in an older home. I love wallpaper and wish I had it in every room of my house. I will have to be happy with my flower needle points, quilts and prints with Asian accents thrown in. Love your home! ❤️🥰
You can't go wrong the your quilts and needlework, that is what really makes a home a cozy place. My parent lived in a brand new "cookie cutter" suburban home that they totally recreated to look like a charming little cottage. Using wallpaper, beams on the ceiling, woodstoves and some bricked walls, lots of quilts, antiques and needlework; it was just like stepping back in time.
I absolutely love your voice... it is so soothing.. I watch and listen while I am quilting. I love the history that you teach as well. I am a retired teacher and thought I knew so much.. you have taught me much... Thanks for sharing all that you do.
I have so many things I love much like you. My Tom is putting up another shelf for me because of you. I love history and have even been a museum exhibit curator and collected antiques all my life with my parents and into my adult years. My 1938 house is only 800 square feet. We have been restoring it for three years and I can’t wait to open all my boxes of precious things!
I have wall papered in the past and it did transform rooms. I have since downsized and no longer have space to use that is needed for proper affect of wall paper. Love the style and relate to vintage wall papers with florals more than other designs. Thank you for the tour.
My sister was housekeeping for a country estate in England it was the most fabulous old place. The owners were abroad a lot so I went to help her out. You would have loved it. Things like all the old pottery and cookware displayed in big cabinets the bedrooms were wallpaper in floral lots of green and yellow. To cut a long story the owner passes and the lady of the house wanted to move abroad. My sister rang me constantly asking if I wanted things as what was not getting shipped was getting thrown away she had to fire lots of stuff. I ended up with lots of old stuff which I still treasure. It broke my heart not to have the room for it all. Your home very much reminds me of the big house
I collect antique Nancy Drew books from as early as the 1930s and also have the ones from my childhood in the 1970s! Thanks for demonstrating on the dresser how you layer and arrange your beautiful antiques and books. I am struggling with that in my own home and appreciate the tips!
I like the illustrations in the 1930's editions the most. Glad to be of some assistance in these decorating tips. I think a lot of women have questions on making arrangements.
I love how you have stained and painted your doors. I have recently moved into a 1920's home and have those style of doors... I will be decorating my doors in a similar way Thank you for your inspiration. Your home is gorgeous. 🌹🌻🌺
I love that wallpaper is in vogue again. I've always loved it. There IS truly wallpaper that is dated....but there are prints that are timeless....and they bring such warmth to a space. I'm in love with your lifestyle....and find it tremendously inspiring to watch you let us into your space. Everything you do taps into something I aspire to be....but will likely never be....so I find an odd comfort in living vicariously through you. And once again....everything you do, brings a calmness, a comfort and a soothing feeling. Thank-you again for letting us in.
A lovely room. I’d get along just dandy in there... I wonder if today’s young mother reads Beatrix Potter’s books to their young children? Such lovely, sweet little tales.
When I do art shows to sell my own books, I speak with many young moms (and grammas too) and it seems they are sharing Beatrix P.'s books with little ones.
I just love seeing your house. I especially love the quilts and the furniture. Love bringing the outdoor garden things inside. The inside of your house just feels like we are walking into a great big bouquet of flowers. So very enchanting.
I just came across your web I love everything you do I love everything you do in your garden what you have done is absolutely beautiful I love your house everything you’re so wonderful to carry on these traditions for I also love gardening I am 75 and I just bought a house it’ll be two years in September and I’m dreaming and planning and it’s just wonderful God is good take care keep on keeping on God bless you‼️THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INSPIRATIONS❤️👈

Hallo Jeri! I'm from Germany. Me and my Mom,we love your videos!! They are each one a piece of art! My mother does not understand English at all,but she looks your videos for inspiration. Thank you and best wishes from Germany!❤
Love your style 😻I also am a collector of things past . It takes ages to find and arrange my finds . It's never just any old thing . Your voice is magical, my mum , grandmother and great grandmother were from a line of American women from early Quaker settlers originally English so I have a feel for your style. Xx
Hello Jerri, I have just recently started watching your videos, I live in England my heritage is Celtic and English ,I love staging in my garden and home I am a collector too, as Spring is approaching my thoughts are turning to staging an indoor display using dried hydrangea and ivy, and of course books and spring hares, I love colour and crafting rummaging in thrift shops my home and garden reflect my personality . Colour light and joy. Afternoon tea is a must and my friends and I gather to partake in exactly that we have cake and biscuits or sandwiches depending on the season. I grow my own herbs for my teas my friends drink regular teas so a treat is Asssam or Earl Grey , I agree with your sentiments sitting and having a pot of tea and a treat to eat is something that will always be special . Thank you for your interesting videos. 🙏
Hello Jeri thank you for your reply I wasnt sure if you would see my comments because it's a few years since you recorded the video, So a special thank you for doing so. I live in a small village local shops and facilities are fairly limited here but there is always great finds and flea markets and antique fairs in the next village Port Sunligjt, The city of Chester is a 20 minute train ride and antique shops a plenty. I'm sure as neighbours we would get on famously, 😊🙏 Regards to you Jeri. Hugs and Blessings 🌞
You will get me drinking more tea, that's for sure. The frame/wallpaper idea looks wonderful, have to think about that. Thank you for an other relaxing gorgeous video. All the colors made me dream.
I so enjoyed this video. Jeri you have a beautiful home. English country is my preferred decorating style. I love being surrounded by my "things". Love your teapot and having tea with you today. As Anne would say, you are a kindred spirit.💗
I have just discovered your channel and it is so refreshing and beautiful. We love wallpaper too. Our daughters' rooms are wallpapered and we are about to do our master and I am so excited. Thanks for the lovely tour! ~Jennifer Scott
That really is a gorgeous tea pot and cup, saucer set. The area on them both are truly beautiful. And you just answered my question because whenever I heat a half of cup of my coffee up in the microwave, it taste like absolutely strange and almost like fish and I spill it out and I bet that’s why! Interesting
Thank you! I love the fabric the curtains are made with. I have similar shades of green in my home. I use cheese and hat boxes to elevate items when I decorate too. I have lots of old pine pieces my Mom got at auctions on Cape Cod in 1960s and 70s when nobody collected it - she loved auctions and estate sales to find treasures. I rearrange and change my arrangements when I dust! We are def. kindred spirits! Wish we lived closer so we could enjoy a cup of cinnamon tea together! Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you for the SWEETEST 29 minutes and 35 seconds including the cuppa. So enjoyed the tour of your house..i have some collections of cups and silver and books can wait to rearrange them .❤📖🌹
You have the most comforting, peaceful voice to hear. On another note, I would love to see what are some of your favorite books/authors, or some of your vintage book collection-- it seems like you have quite a charming library.
Johanna Elizabeth I’m going to repeat my comment from above bc it applies here as If you haven’t seen it yet, you should watch one of her early videos about a front yard cottage garden. It’s the first one of hers I ever saw and I think my comment was very similar to yours....i remember thinking she had a soothing voice. it was the most peaceful and relaxing UA-cam video I had seen. I’ve actually watched it a few more times, almost like therapy, when I’m feeling stressed and chaotic. I’ve been a fan ever since. Thanks zjeri, for these glimpses into your beautiful world.
Well done! Love the way you arrange your vignettes inside! I am probably the only one who noticed this, but i love the sound of the clock ticking in the background. Very relaxing ... and so inspirational. Thank you Jeri! ♥️🐇🥕🐇♥️
Absolutely Gorgeous , eye candy everywhere . Charles Dickens , Great Expectations is my favorite book ...but then again I have quite a few favorite books . I can visualize linens in your pantry cabinet . Bunny bookends Perfect ! No clutter there but charming , I love the little stories that go along with your collections , Delightful ! The colors in your dried flowers are so lovely .I could go on and on , but I think maybe less is more...I think you can get the idea that I have enjoyed this video just as much as the others I have watched . I plan on spending a part of each of my days watching more . Thank you for sharing . God Bless you always in all ways .
Jeri, I knew your books and a bit about your genius talents many years ago, and have just been over the moon to find you again, but this time in your home on UA-cam!!! I can’t even tell you how enchanted I am over every single thing I’ve watched so far! I want to tell you how much I admire you, how much I relate, (though I do not have near your talents). I just really want to thank you for going to all this work for all of us! I’m going to try to budget so I can buy some thing before too long as I would just absolutely treasure having one of your tiny Hop Along hollow folk chickens or birds. Something that’s affordable for me, but oh my goodness, I am in seventh heaven, loving all of these things right there with you! Bless you and Thank you thank you for all these incredible gifts you’re giving us just by sharing your world and who you are with us! With Much love and admiration, always!!! Cheryl
How very nice! Did we meet at a show? So nice to have you here in Hopalong Hollow. I have a website here, if you'd like to visit it...www.jerilanders.com
Jeri you make everything come to life! You have a magic touch. I feel I'm in a secret gardem having tea. Thank you so much Jeri. In a world that can be so cold. Your videos bring so much warmth.
I have always loved wallpaper. It sets the stage for the room. Your videos leave me speechless! Your studio amazing! I don't know how you do it all!! Blessings Jill
Thank you for bringing so many beautiful memories of my mother. She loved many of the things you love. I have dedicated a whole room in my home with her not so new yet beautiful things. Have a wonderful week.
Your channel inspires me to actually go out and do things. Yesterday I watched only part of one of your videos and then I got off my phone and went outside and collected acorns and gathered bouquets of grass and berries and roses. And now I’m about to buy wallpaper for my bedroom! 🍂🌾🥀
Very lovely. I just love everything you showed. The book "The secret garden" had many years a special faszination for me. When I was young our teacher in school would read it to us. The year came to an end and vacation started and we never got done with the book. This followed me and stayed on my mind till I was grown up and could finally find the book and buy it for myself. ☺
It was one of my mothers favorite stories. I started collecting the copies with the best illustrations ( so many artists have illustrated the story) I really must do a video on the book over the Spring.
Thank you our Dear Friend Jeri for a lovely tour of your Sweet & Peaceful Antique Bedroom, So enjoyed your tips of decorating & arranging the top of your Dresser Furniture. I too love the Twining Teas , I always wondered if maybe it could have been one of the Teas that ended up in the Boston Harbor since it is such a old line of English Teas. LOL! My Best Regards to you! Rebecca
I love English style, i love tea , i love cross stitch and patchwork ( i practice my self ) my favorites colors are pink and green , i love your house and your voice so you’ve owned a new subscriber 💕💐
I used to work in a unique toy store called Geppetto's A Child's Fantasy and that's the first time that I was introduced to Beatrix Potter books and ceramics. They really are delightful...
Watching this had me lost in a dream of croquet on the lawn with birds singing and children laughing. A charming English afternoon. I so agree we have to buy and take care of these old things to keep history alive . I am a new subscriber and looking forward to watching more. Lots of love from Wales uk

Oh yea!! What a treat. A Jeri Landers vid. Thanks for sharing your home interiors. Gorgeous!love the arrangement. Very well done. I too, love history encapsulated in antiques. Gazing upon them will transport us back in time.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. And doing a designing of that dresser vignette. 'Bleak House', Dickens..one good book. Oh your tea pot , cup and saucer! Earl Grey is my fave tea. Indeed there is a ritual to proper tea.
Hi dear friend, just love your videos, you bring such peace to my life. You were encouraging me to rethink how I do things on my channel. You have such a calming sweet Voice. Getting more of a cottage garden in my garden and the way you’ve decorated your home everything is so calming. In our Busy lives we need some place to go unwind and be calm .
Hello, Jeri, what a lovely video. I just found two quilts that my grandma made so I'm decorating two bedrooms. This video gives me a lot of inspiration, as always. My mother has the most beautiful pieces of furniture. I love to decorate her home as well. We will definitely have some tea too - Thanks, I love this video!
Inspired by you, I've started drinking Lavender Chamomile tea. It's like drinking 💐 flowers. My Mother always had a knack for arranging things, to make attractive displays.
Dear Jeri, I'm delighted with your decorations and your illustration works. It was a coincidence that I found your videos, but through them I discovered a book about Beatrix Potter which I didn't know about "Beatrix Potter Journal". I already bought it, second hand, but it's like new! I'm a collector of antique illustrations, and names like Beatrix, Maud Humphrey, Margaret Tarrant, or Cicely Mary Barker are icons.Thank you so much for the excellent sharings and your good taste in home decorations! Hugs from Portugal
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this video! I too am a keeper of the past. Every time I start to pare down and to get rid of something I stop myself because I think I need to keep this to teach my granddaughters about “the way it was”. I have beautiful one year old granddaughters so I guess it’ll be a while before I can get rid of a lot. Please make more videos like this. 🤗BTW I’m a new subscriber.
I'm with you when it comes to sharing these old items with grandchildren. I can't wait to play some of my antique board games with my wee grandson and read to him from 100yr old storybooks.
I just love your home so much and it is so cosy and inviting. There is nothing in your home that i don't like as you have such good taste and grouping your collections together makes it more interesting.
Jeri, thank you so much for the beautiful tour of your rooms and the tea lesson. I live in a small farm community in western Iowa, so when the snow is on the ground, I enjoy all the plants that I have brought in for the winter. My husband and I had a sunroom built on the south side of our house and a local gentleman built three window height long shelves for me where I set all my plants. Our house is an old farm house that was moved into our small town. We spent years fixing it up and love it too. My daughter & son-in-law lived in England for 16 yrs. and we visited many times. There are wonderful big botanical gardens and gardens on estates open to the public. My daughter was wonderful in indulging me in their beautiful little tea rooms. I collected many teapots over the years and friends & family added beautiful "one of a kinds" too. Your teapot/cup and saucer is one of the prettiest I have seen. You are a lady after my own heart. Whenever I see you have a new video up, I fix a cup of coffee and enjoy. Thank you so much for taking the time for our enjoyment. Blessings from Iowa. How are your cute geese?
Elaine, Having a sunroom filled with your plants is JUST the best way of literally bringing the garden inside, so nice. I bring in all my more sensitive Succulents, that would otherwise freeze. Love seeing them lining the windowsill in a nice warm room. You are so fortunate to have spent so much time visiting England and seeing the wonders first-hand; it's such a special country with rich history and fabulous gardens. Thank you for enjoying a cuppa with me! Oh, my baby geese have grown into total rascals and we added 2 more beautiful females when a stranger just dropped by and asked me if I would adopt her geese.... of course, I did.
1-11-2024 Delightful days spending time with Jeri. While i am healing from leg wounds.
I love Beatrice Potter but I didn't realize there were so many books about her.
What an amazing collection. I will start looking for books about Beatrice Potter for my great grandchild. We have the PETER RABBIT SERIES.

I so enjoyed this video. Jeri you have a beautiful home. English country is my preferred decorating style. I love being surrounded by my "things". Love your teapot and having tea with you today. As Anne would say, you are a kindred spirit.💗

Interesting
So precious! I just love your channel!
Why do kindreds always live so far away?! My mom was the same as yours, collecting antiques and old furniture for as long as I can remember.
Thank you for the SWEETEST 29 minutes and 35 seconds including the cuppa. So enjoyed the tour of your house..i have some collections of cups and silver and books can wait to rearrange them .❤📖🌹
Arranging collections is an enjoyable pastime, especially with a cuppa!
You have the most comforting, peaceful voice to hear. On another note, I would love to see what are some of your favorite books/authors, or some of your vintage book collection-- it seems like you have quite a charming library.
That's a nice idea. I do have some interesting old books I would love to share....
@@Julie_Krantz I actually remember your comment from years ago, because it was such a nice one.
julieanna65 that’s the video that got me hooked! Loved it! Still go back and watch every so often.
Thank you kindly. Great Expectations was the first Dickens book I read, I was about 13 yrs at the time, but hooked for life!
The world is cold indeed, that is why we have been given BEAUTY. So lovely to have you here at the tea!
Чудесный дом. Сказка!
Jeri, you have such a romantic way of looking at everything and I really appreciate that. I love your site.
I think I must be a romantic at heart...
I have always loved wallpaper. It sets the stage for the room. Your videos leave me speechless! Your studio amazing! I don't know how you do it all!! Blessings Jill
Love 💘 the picture of the ballerina, calling cards with book.
Thank you for bringing so many beautiful memories of my mother. She loved many of the things you love. I have dedicated a whole room in my home with her not so new yet beautiful things. Have a wonderful week.
How lovely to dedicate a room to your mom, she would love that.
Your channel inspires me to actually go out and do things. Yesterday I watched only part of one of your videos and then I got off my phone and went outside and collected acorns and gathered bouquets of grass and berries and roses. And now I’m about to buy wallpaper for my bedroom! 🍂🌾🥀
I'm loving this!
Did you wallpaper your room and how did it turn out. I want to do mine . It's been prolonged because we moved.
Thanks so much! Your videos are so inspiring!
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow I would love it :-)
Lovely Jeri, I read Nancy Drew as well. Very pretty tea pot. Thanks for sharing your home and sharing your display talents. xx

Rebecca
Rebecca, That might make an interesting study to find out which tea company's TEA was dumped!
Great ideas and beautiful display.. Thank you! The tea pot is gorgeous. So enjoy these tea times. :)
The Scottish oatcakes are great with good cheese. I’ve just found your channel and it’s creative and relaxing so I’m subscribing. Hi from Ireland 👋

That is so very nice, I am so glad you enjoyed it.
I'm seconds into the video and OMG, how lovely!
I used to work in a unique toy store called Geppetto's A Child's Fantasy and that's the first time that I was introduced to Beatrix Potter books and ceramics. They really are delightful...
Even the name of the store sounds wonderful!
Watching this had me lost in a dream of croquet on the lawn with birds singing and children laughing. A charming English afternoon. I so agree we have to buy and take care of these old things to keep history alive . I am a new subscriber and looking forward to watching more. Lots of love from Wales uk
We do play croquet on the lawn.....with an antique croquet set!

Just sitting and hemming a skirt is relaxing too, lovely.

Oh yea!! What a treat. A Jeri Landers vid. Thanks for sharing your home interiors. Gorgeous!love the arrangement. Very well done. I too, love history encapsulated in antiques. Gazing upon them will transport us back in time.
Even the simplest of antique items speak volumes..
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. And doing a designing of that dresser vignette. 'Bleak House', Dickens..one good book. Oh your tea pot , cup and saucer! Earl Grey is my fave tea. Indeed there is a ritual to proper tea.
That Bleak House is an 1868 copy with 10 etchings inside, really great book!

Enjoying a cuppa right now!
This is awesome and I agree!
Thanks Bertha, Nice that you have your mom nearby, So sweet that you decorate her home for her!
Inspired by you, I've started drinking Lavender Chamomile tea. It's like drinking 💐 flowers. My Mother always had a knack for arranging things, to make attractive displays.
Wonderful!
What a delight it was to watch this video, I enjoyed every minute of it : )
Dear Jeri, I'm delighted with your decorations and your illustration works.
That is my very favorite Beatrix Potter book, so glad you found a copy! Also love Cecily M.B., Tarrant, Ernest Aris, and Anton Peick
Another beautiful video❤️
Beautiful video as always... Thank You for the lovely indoor English Garden, and especially the Cuppa!

Having a cuppa right now...
Your home is so lovely...thank you for sharing.
I love your home and your deco ideas! I also love history, it sure was a different world.
Thank you so much, it really was a different world a century ago... in some ways better, in some ways worse. Oh well!
I just love your home so much and it is so cosy and inviting. There is nothing in your home that i don't like as you have such good taste and grouping your collections together makes it more interesting.
Kind of you to say so, it always feel cozy to me and the family.
Loved it so much, think I'll watch it again...
Cheers and a Cuppa!
I just love, love what you do x
