I could very much imagine a room full of ladies, present company included, sitting around on tufted cushions working on needlepoint while the clock chimes the hours. Lots of tea to be poured and sipped, stories to be told. Just a cozy room that says "welcome to my story". Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely loved this video! I am so sick of everyone thinking we have to decorate in a whitewashed world. Not my style. Your home is warm, welcoming and cozy! My friend and I have a UA-cam channel all about stitching ( country stitchers) so, your walls really spoke to me!!! Thank you so much, Deb

Vicki, I love to enter a home filled with the makers needlework, nothing is quite as personal, lovely and authentically historical. Most of my needlework pieces were "finds" and about a quarter of them are my own work.
Thank you Vicki! I think I've been collecting antiques since I was 12 yrs old, too old to change now. I just feel more comfortable in a house full of memories and history.

I have always had a love/hate relationship with decorating magazines and books. They say no artificial foliage, no clutter, how many teapots do you need, and on and on. Dear Jeri you are amazing and your style goes a long ways in showing how you can create the most wonderful home in your own taste. Your collections are so lovely. You inspire me to get some of my treasures out of boxes and display them regardless of "style". Thank you for the most beautiful video!!
I love to look at decorating books, but in the end I just go my own way. We should surround ourselves with the things we love, no matter what the "experts"tell us or what the latest trend happens to be.
This room makes me want to curl up and sigh with relief. It is so cozy and welcoming. I think people should decorate with things that they love. It makes them and their home more interesting.
I also love English cottage style. We had to downsize when we moved so the things I have left are the best of a life time of collecting. I have never grown tired of living with these things.
By all means don't apologise for the length of this video. It was such a pleasure listening to how you pulled all these elements to create such a charming and intimate, cosy room. This was a masterclasses in "storytelling through decor". Your collections and handicrafts are wonderful. Thank you Jeri♥️
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow My husband is an artist and has done many stencil jobs in homes and he has told me many times how hard it is to do, you did an amazing job, especially going up that high, not easy to do.
Yes...Yes....Yes Lots of pillows and Quilts and padding that is exactly what I love. My daughter went out with a young man and he used to make fun of my pillows everywhere but I’m glad to say they didn’t work out and her current boyfriend is so lovely now.. (he is a keeper). I’m so happy in my space and love collecting Art, pretty plates, cups, teapots, vases & plants. I must say that I have wanted a Green & Blue braided American rug for about 20 years....I think it is time I get one. Thank you for showing us your beautiful home 💐
Our house was built in the twelfth century and modernised in the sixteenth in Northumberland. I love your decorating style, but your house is positively modern.
LOL! Compared to yours it certainly is! It must be marvelous to live in such a house as yours. Trust me, by American standards, my house is anything but modern.
How very interesting to see your English/American style room so full of beautiful things. I can identify with some of them as I am English with a Dutch mother. I have quite a few pieces of very dark furniture in my own home because I like the Tudor style of furniture - reproduction. I think the Dutch Delft ware - blue and white - goes very well on the dark furniture. I have some of that, but not a lot now. Thank you for sharing your lovely home :)
the sampler you worked in 1982 is very similar to the one I worked in 1962. That was my first embroidered piece. I was 10 yrs old and received a blue ribbon at our town fair. It hangs on the wall in my log farmhouse. I enjoyed your home tour, thanks for sharing. I don't have collections per se and it is rare for me to appreciate seeing them in homes but yours are fascinating, valuable and well curated. My style is functional farmhouse and though it may look like we collect old vintage items, we actually use these things. The glass milk bottles on the hoosier, the various kitchen items and enamelware, the wood dough bowls, the big old cookie jar, the crocks holding potatoes and onions, all are quite experienced and still well used. I like to think about the women who used these items before they came to me, their stories are connected to mine. I imagine you understand this connection as well.
That is so interesting that you could see the age on the Sampler... I was much older than 10 when I stitched it. I use many of my old items, especially kitchen items. More fragile things such a quilts and baskets are for display only. I'm glad you put your wonderful old history items to use. I have a 200 yr old wooden bowl ,passed down in the family. it is a total pleasure to use it.

What a wonderful room. The colors are so warm. What a treat of a video.
Well very interesting 🧐 I enjoyed your tour and explaining all ...I have had material exactly like your stenciled walls...and I would call my style “eclectic” ...thank you for your sharing 🙏💖🙏 Carolyn
SOme would say mine is also Eclectic... that's good too.
So comfortable and cozy. I really love the dark homey feeling.
Amazing and pretty room. I love the red love seat. Red is my favorite color. This room looks very cozy. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful.
Bertha, I never knew how much I would like RED until I found that little Red Love seat and the color became the basis for the room.
