    I followed this recipe tonight as close as possible. Finishing up my burger during dinner, it dawns on me all the many burgers I’ve cooked in my life were not as good. I was sad until I ate another half burger. 150g patties. Perfect. Thanks for the video recipe!!! #kamadojoe

    Just now seeing this one. Oink! That sauce looks killer. And I love the remark about the onions: "You can almost read a newspaper through 'em." You have a touch of the poet, sir! Nice, old-fashioned treatment for these burgers.

    Hi, I discovered your channel recently and decided to have a go at the smash burgers on my Classic 3. I tried to stick to your sauce recipe but could not get the last ingredient here in the UK, so I improvised. I must say the burgers were great, but the sauce was fantastic. Thanks for the recipe.

    Looks great - just got my cast iron griddle today. My Joe is on hiatus until the spring but can’t wait to fire it up. I usually butter my buns before roasting them - if you are going opulent with that sauce - might as well go all the way. Best of luck with the channel!!!

      @KamadoMax  4 роки тому

      Thank you! I usually do throw some butter on but with the sauce and cheese, thought I'd probably skip it for once. Hard to beat a buttered bun though. Happy grilling!

    Awesome content and video!!! I tried smash burgers on my kamado and cast iron griddle but actually smashed them on the grill. Ended up with a grease fire that wouldn’t quit until I snuffed the fire out 😡🤬🥵. This technique seems to get around that!!! Thanks

    First time I’ve seen the burgers smashed outside the griddle, interesting! Talking about griddle, how do you keep it so clean. Mine still have like old butter/grease stuck to it. Seems I’m not cleaning it well. Thanks for the video!

    • @KamadoMax
      @KamadoMax  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks for watching! I sometimes smash them on the griddle but for whatever reason I did it manually this time! On keeping it clean, what I do a lot is wipe it down after the cook, then flip it over so the side I cooked on is now over the fire. That helps burn off any excess grease/food!

      @@KamadoMax Sir, What you did was not wrong but different. I saw another post where you said that sometimes you smash then on the griddle. What works best for my smashing needs is not a spatula or a burger smashing tool, but a drywall tool. Also to keep it from sticking to the burger I set it on the griddle to heat it up.

    Put the wax cube in the bottom where the ash goes...that way the flame actually hits the coals...

    • @KamadoMax
      @KamadoMax  4 роки тому

      I've done that before but when I want to create a specific zone of heat, I'll put the cubes in that area and open the bottom vents!

    • @Matarman
      @Matarman 4 роки тому

      @@KamadoMax I know everyone has their own way, but putting the wax on the bottom does a few things. First, the coal will be lit wayyyyy faster. Second, you wont need to use as many coals. Once there's some embers, then you can stir them up a bit to make sure they all catch. Last, if you use less coals doing this process, you'll save money AND you can rearrange your coals where you want them. Plus, you can always add more. Anyways, like the channel so far keep it up. Food looks bomb.
