Thanks for posting, will probably get that gazebo soon. Looks like she did all the work....up and down the ladder, drilling. Taking control of the situation...you go girl!

Thanks Evan! Yes I am the handy one at home. :) This particular gazebo was super easy to build and put together step by step.

I'm doing the same one right now. It takes forever if you are doing it solo. I'm ready to put the roof up and I'm not trying that by myself.

What you don't understand is that in the USA instalation of the Costco yardistry 12X14 requires a building permit. But Yardistry refuses to provide the purchaser with the structural engineer information required by the local building and safety department. I was threatened with fine and forced removal if I erected the gazebo/pavilion. I ended up in a battle with Costco to come get the 3 heavy boxes and refund our money. Is this really a company you want to by from?
They are selling products to US buyers that the know can't be permitted! There ought to be a law against this.

So sorry that happened to you and that was your experience. In my state it goes by a city bylaw and you are correct the height is unacceptable however it really comes down to a neighbour complaining to the town to have the city come and give ticket. I’m glad Costco gave you a refund they are a great company. Perhaps wrote that comment on the feedback for yardistry.

@@danielle7139 all cities adopt either all or the majority of the two US recognized residential or uniform building codes. The often combine them, selecting parts the like of each. Many cities and counties have a building permit exemption for sheds and shade structures that have a usuable floor area less than 120 square feet. (Area under the roof) but still require an application to ensure zoning and setback requirements are met. So 10X12 may be exempt but never the 12X14. These always require a building permit. Unpermitted structures are often a big issue when property is sold. What's frustrating is Yardistry's out right refusal to assist buyers. I was floored by their verbal and written responses to my requests for help.

Sorry that this was your overall experience. My video was just to show how easy it is the build this particular gazebo, not the permits specifics. I hope you have better luck in the future with another gazebo company and build.

I build this thing, it took myself 2 days to assemble the pieces and put the base up then had a friend come over on the third day to put the roof up. I’d say 18 hrs total from start to finish

Be ready for a ton of pieces and little oddball tasks. My advice is follow the instructions like word for word. And have a helper take plastic off panels. Also get an organizing tray or something to put and label all the screws. It's not hard, but it takes a lot of patience and will take double the time if you skip steps. Been there, and I am a carpenter

@@arturovaldivia8233 Airplanes are a lot heavier than 600 pounds and that roof is a wing. A high wind could lift that thing and throw it into your neighbour's yard, (or your house, garage, car, etc.), faster than you can say "oh f--K!" Get some lag bolts and the right masonry bit and secure it to the concrete.
