Lol exactly what I thought, “ if you are on a a couple arches of land and have an expendable income you’re 13 things that you should do!” Lol if you didn’t want to make it seem like this video was made for the Rich, maybe don’t show the more expensive ways to do up their backyard! Lol
I love your work, my husband has been I’ll with dementia and has he to go to a Memory Care facility, we have a good size back yard and it would be wonderful to transform it so I can maintain it. I find it very difficult to keep up the maintenance by myself that was something my husband always loved to do. Thank You for doing what you do and inspire people to dream and work towards making the dream come true. A relaxing space now wouldn’t that be magic
Love the free-standing ideas with overhead lights installed. I have a large backyard I would like to break up with part of it to be an entertaining area. Thanks for the ideas!
Yeah. I loved to southwest Georgia 3 years ago after living most of my life in the west. The humidity is real, but so is the greenery and vegetation, and no need for sprinklers or drip systems.
I love the work you guys do !! I love how you utilized every single area and as well how you add all the elements (fire, water etc ) We are original from Colombia but we live in San Antonio, Texas !! Definitely looking forward for you guys to make your magic in our backyard ❤️
I love your ideas & outdoor living areas! Most wouldn't work in my development bc the houses are too close together! An outdoor theater would guarantee police visits! 🤭 But that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the beauty of spaces that have the blessing of lake front property!
Have seen many videos on the topic, but many were impractical as there were on roof over it!!! How can one expect to protect costly electronics live TV and furnitures like sofas when it rai, snow of by sun exposure?? So i really liked your insistence on roof. That made you sound so practical. Loved your video
Wow your stuff is exactly what we are looking for!!! Money due in later next year but we may sign up for an appointment soon! In the meantime maybe I'll play with one of your self-design programs. Thanks and we'll definitely be looking you up!!!!!!
Depends on climate but a covered outdoor living space in cold climates makes more sense than free standing. I want to use mine in the winter even if its just to grill and dont want to walk through a foot of snow to get there.
I’m sorry… very nice but it’s like a second house. I live in the cold north. I need something a little closer before trekking thru the ice & sub zero temps. Unless I had a tunnel. I have a heated attached mini greenhouse I’ve used all winter. Tropical bliss. 🥰
Really like your approach in the utilization of space. I agree with you, create destinations which pulls/attracts people towards different locations and functionality
I am totally inspired by your ideas. I am looking for some help to design my back yard. I have tradesmen to do the work but would like sone guidance to design it. Can I get some help? I am in Surrey, BC
My idea of an outdoor place includes a moderate kitchen with a bar area, in the backyard. landscape plants 🪴, for 🐦birds, a swing, and yes a hammer, a small/ medium fish pond. I prefer a gazebo in the front yard or somewhere not to far from the front yard with lots of flowers and plants 😀 nicely landscaped.
So many of these ideas seem limited to people in Southern areas where snow isn't a thing. Here in Michigan the usable span of outdoor time is pretty much May thru October, only five months (if you're lucky). My house's previous owners were landscapers who did an elaborate deck with koi pond and stream. Unfortunately, they were followed by a guy who bought the house cheap and utterly neglected everything for 15 years before dying. A neighbor said they did a massive jungle clearance before selling it to me, but I'm left with reed-choked mosquito breeding ponds and a rotting wood deck. I think a complete clean sheet redesign is going to be required, but I'm having heart palpitations at what this will cost. But it needs doing, so I want it to be cool.
I agree … if you live in a zone that freezes … what you need is SO different from we can use in the south. ALSO … what is needed in California or Arizona or New Mexico is considerably different than Florida! We live in Central Florida - and between the tropical storms, sun showers and humidity, what we can use outdoors as far as fabrics/foam and what decor can withstand the weather - it’s far different than the west where is is dryer. However - you can beat our options for landscaping! My banana (trees) plants are 12’ + ! Lemons all year round! Grasses, flowers AND cacti ! What is missed in almost EVERY outdoor plan is an insect plan!!
I think that folding/sliding glass doors would be the solution. That way it functions like a lounge area but away from the house, and when it's hot you open the doors and the "wall" essentially disappears, bringing back the open space that you want for those hotter months.
@@BigBoomOfDoom2 That would be more like building an addition to the house with something like a garage door opening. I've seen those and they're dope, but not suited for my particular house and yard.
Lol. I'm the Outdoor Living Guy....not a financial expert. My advice would be focus on building memories in your backyard at whatever budget u can handle. Set goals and work towards them but don't neglect the people u love...that's why I love a backyard retreat. It provides a great gathering place for all of our busy lives.
Man, this is great, I'm doing a design for a client with two acres and multiple spaces designated for different activities. This gives me some interesting ideas to incorporate
Thank u Creator Wizard! That means a lot coming from a genius like u with how to get sponsorships. This is an area I am still learning to navigate through. Have an awesome day
Hi Antonio, we would love to help with your project in Charleston. Feel free to reach out here paradiserestored.com/contact-us/ I will send over our process video and pricing brochure and then we can schedule a zoom meeting if it seems like a good fit for you.
You know, many ordinary people who make the most of what they have really live well in free societies but n restrictive lands, none eventually will enjoy the fruit of their labors…. Lovely video of possibilities.
This was such a fantastic well put together video!! We just bought a house with a little over a half an acre. I’ve never had any land before so it’s so important to me to make really good use of it and I was looking for ideas 🙏🏼🌈 to make it a great place to be
So you think I should make a covered area, with a kitchen, a fire pit, a tv and a bar? So you mean I should get everything? lol! Loved the video, you have some really cool designs!
I like your approach and use of space. Thank you! I'm curious about the screen, you mention at around 2:50 minutes in you video, using it against the wind. We live in an area that is windy in the evenings, making our backyard too cold to use even in the summer. I wonder if you have any information about the screen or any other ideas other than building a wall. Thanks! & Much luck to you!
Hey man, is it possible that you help me with a patio terrace suggestions? I’m in the middle of a construction of two bedrooms on the first floor that open a space below then forming a terrace. Can I send you a few images for you to suggest something?
Would love to implement many of those features at our lakefront cottage. Unfortunately, the various biting flies, mosquitos, and worst of all, the 9 months-long freezing cold spell kind of prevent us from investing in developping the backyard.
We live on about 6 acres and our pool is over a 100 yards away from the house with an old school Caribbean shack/bar/refrigerator...having it away from the house makes us feel like we are on vacation when we go there....
The bar with the pivit bar stools facing the water would have been nicer if the counter top came out enough to put your knees under, the way it is you have to sit side ways at the bar.
Thanks for the advice Katheleen, The homeowner needed to keep the bar surface to a minimum as they had very little patio space due to the setbacks from the river. Have an awesome weekend

For larger backyards, gravel paths are cool along with edible landscape, if done _tastefully_ (no pun intended).
