You are the only vlogger to mention registration of 😮prescription drugs with the Thai authorities. I take controlled pain medication so thank you for this alert !
I was going to say the same thing! I watched that video last night and am now organising it, as nobody has told me this, not even the airline. So I am very grateful as well 💜💜💜
Very comprehensive, thank you.😊 Btw, is Klook good to buy tickets for the famous Thai boxing at a reasonable price? Also, do you know why LINE is popular in Thailand vs. Whatsapp? Japan influence? Just curious.
I think Line just caught on here… that’s an interesting question and now I’m curious too 😂 For Thai boxing, I recommend you check the price on Klook for any event and then just compare it with the listed price on the website. This is what I normally do!
Hey Cal I like your insights. Any advice for dating for a serious relationship (not holiday gf) in Bkk? I’ve had a long term relationship with a great Thai woman but didn’t work out and find it hard to meet someone with the basic qualities I think are important.
I could definitely make a whole video on that one. Avoid the bars or anything in the nightlife. Thailand is like two different worlds… date women that work at normal office jobs; lawyers, doctors… it’s an entirely different world. I’ll try to cover this in a video.
@@thebangkokguide I totally agree. I have never been to Pattaya and am not interested in women in the bar scene (I’m not judging them it’s just not what I’m looking for). I’ve been very fortunate in who I’ve met but it’s not been easy.
Thanks Cal for the Video, well put together. Regarding google reviews, it seems to be illegal to leave bad reviews in Thailand, how much weight would you say I put into a google review when considering a product or service?
Thanks for the kind words. Defamation laws are definitely strict in Thailand but I find that reviews on Google are generally reasonably accurate, and you will find plenty of negative reviews. I’m not sure how they are bypassing the defamation issue but both Google and Reddit have much more accurate reviews than many popular hotel or booking sites.
True Money - that's the one you need for 7-eleven, right? Do you need to have any other True service connected to it or can it be used strictly as a payment app if you top it up or connect a card or K+ to it?
@@stormstereo I use it for payment only. 99 % 7-11. You can top up or connect several payment methods like debit/credit card or bank account. If I could use my banking app in 7-11 too I would not use True Money.
There is no need to defraud you of your money in the United States, it is directly robbed. Thailand is much safer than the United States. You don’t have to worry about being robbed or stolen while walking outside.

Another great vlog! Thanks for providing truly useful information - a rare gem amid the ever-growing pile of useless YT click bait.
Thanks for the kind words! Very happy to hear that

Thanks Cal for such awesome information on Bangkok my favorite city we"ll be there in January vacation party time foody time love it there😮😅😊
Yep! Great city! I’m glad it’s helpful! Cheers
Nicely done sir!
Thank you 🙏
For Bolt and Grab is it like Uber and Lyft where you have your credit card, debit card, or PayPal info on file to pay them and never have to use cash?
Correct! I just have my card on file. Much simpler!
Nicely done Cal
Thank you 🙏
Hi Cal, thanks for the videos. What eSIM do you recommend?
Airalo is a good option. I will be covering phones and SIM cards in a video soon as you have a wide range of choices!
@@thebangkokguide thanks, I’ll be in Chiang Rai and other parts of the north too. Thank for the tip.
Thank you for this!!!
Cheers!
My own experience is that the negotiation with the taxi driver stops as soon as it starts to rain, then its pay up or get wet.
This is true. The taxi trump card 😂

For those of the 25 apps that require a payment, e.g. Grab, Bolt, grocery, Seven-11, etc, do they accept North American credit cards? Thank you.
Yes, most will accept North American credit cards.
My phone has these Thailand related Apps: Google Maps, Grab, Bolt, Booking, Agoda, True money, K+, Wise.
Good apps. I like True Money and the banking apps as well. Those ones definitely could have made the list.

Is it hard to rent an apartment that accepts pets in Bangkok ?
I'm wondering same. We have four cats! 😹
It can be a little bit difficult, but many agencies can help you find good pet friendly condos. I will cover more about this in a later video!

Been here 20 years, don't even own a phone, kids these days can't function without a phone.
