- Jim Lueken from Simi Valley flies his elegant Top Flite Taurus RC model. Location is Agate Skyways, home of the Medford Rogue Eagles. The event was the Northwest VRCS Fly-In on August 29-30, 2014. VRCS is the Vintage RC Society which is dedicated to preserving the memory of early RC model designs. The Taurus is a true classic. This model, under Jim's guidance, flies smoothly and gracefully. Power is an OS .55AX glow engine. Helper at the end is John Gaines. Camera and video by Bruce Tharpe.
One of the best planes I have ever owned, with such a light wing loading it would do just about anything you wanted.
This is what a model RC should be looking like
I Am 66 years old.
The "Taurus” was my first multi channel aircraft. Used a Bonner 4 channel radio and a Veco 45 for power. Plane was covered in silk hand painted with a camel’s hair brush using aircraft dope exactly as pictured.
First flight was by my instructor. Then the controls were handed to me. First time flying a multi channel radio. That day I will remember for a very long time. Ed Kasmerski designed a beautiful and flying model airplane.
my favorite plane nice job landing
Awesome airplane still a great-looking design I have a original Top Flite Taurus kit in the Box I had Shrunk the plans down to three quarter size and built one put a OS 35 in it flew great
beautiful model! nice landing too.
Flew mine with a Kraft radio and a Kraft 61 engine great plane still have one a after market kit
Very nice - I have either a Taurus or Kwik Fly III as my next project!
congrats jim... just awesome ..!! the gusser
I saw a lot of these fly on reeds.
I wonder how the Taurus flew with the recommended .45 engine. It's a huge plane @ 70 inches wingspan.
Nice!!!! What props is using??
