  • Here we have Jim Lueken flying the Ed Kazmirski Taurus at the first annual VRCS (Vintage RC Society) out at the AVTI (Antilope Valley Tailwinds) club field in Lancaster, CA.
The Taurus is a design that was published January 1963 in Model Airplane News. This one being scratch built by Jim Levelle a few years ago is powered by an OS Max 55 AX.

My dad always talked about the taurus. It was his favorite airplane . He built one from scratch. Silk and dope model. It was gorgeous. Just bought one on ebay. I have one that is about 70 percent completed. He was building it then got sick. He passed 12 years ago. I'm going to finish it.

Fabulous airplane, I've been thinking of building one for years, I have the original MAN magazine with the article and plans. One day...one day... thanks for sharing.

Agreed! This one was scratch built and flys excellent with the OS Max 55 AX for power. From what I remember, Its covered in silkspan, dope and Klass Kote. Its good to keep these old designs alive! They are cool!
