Heck yeah, as a brazilian I'm really proud of this web series. I know its not the best production out there, but the chemestry between the actresses and the respect they have representing the lesbian love scenes and romance its one of the best i've seen. I cant wait for season 2

Luiza’s parents didn’t want to test anything they couldn’t tell Luiza because Valentina interrupted them.
You didn’t understand a thing about Luiza’s character and her condition like most people thirsting over Valentina, nightmares influenced plot, they started to appear because Luiza allowed herself to be in relationship with Valentina again and she started remembering “traumatic thing” related to it.
When Luiza got drunk and made a scene in ep4, she was upset because Valentina was ignoring her.

hilarious review lol. i don't blame you for hating luiza bcs the way the script is written and edited is definitely not on her favor. they even cut a scene where you can see more clearly the reason for her outburst on ep4. and they should really add more scenes that will make us understand her better. in the fanfic it's based on, luiza wasn't that cruel. reis (the actress playing her) is definitely brilliant tho! she's an amazing actress.

hilarious review and video! though i do think you’re downplaying the quality of the show a little bit. the lengths they go to to give us scenes, angles, and everything else is amazing despite the fact that they’re an independent production company. with what they have, this series is amazing. and some ppl say the storyline is unrealistic or dramatized but it’s not! Disassociative amnesia is very real and can happen. as for the actors, the acting in this show is amazing, ESPECIALLY from the two Priscilas. out of alllll the wlw ships i’ve watched, they by far have the most chemistry i’ve ever seen. they’re incredible in my opinion. they portray everything in their characters and ppl cant stop raving about their acting, they’re truly incredible. anddd their love scene, oh my god. they show quite a bit, far more than ANYTHINGGG i’ve seen in other wlw love scenes. it’s so realistic, it’s literally an experience. overall, im absolutely obsessed with this series and i indulge in it every day, i cant wait for more of it and how much better it’s going to get!

I laughed so much with this video, congratulations, you are hilarious! I just wanted to say Priscila Reis (Luiza) and Priscila Buiar (Valentina) were in a podcast last Thursday and Buiar said Valentina takes all that abuse because she feels responsible for what happened to Luiza. so that's one of the reasons why she's begging everyone not to tell Lu what happened.
If you knew the directors of the show and of the channel that produces it you'd know more about the fan base. The show that Punto Acao produces that i think is worth it is The Stripper and A Melhor Amiga da Noiva (the first two seasons anyway ). Brazil has a very alive independent scene far superior than the US and i know culturally some people don't understand why all of us Latinos might like this production company. There are many good Brazilian independent companies just like theirs that produce LGB content. They make shows that are based off of fanfiction from wattpad and most of it is fanfaction of Camila cabello and Lauren jauregi. Also the two main producers of the show and channel, Natalie and Priscilla have themselves become a ship for basing their careers off of roles where they continue to play lovers to each other which people also love.
Edit (just a little addition): the Latino culture of wattpad fanfiction would be for a lot of people like trying to understand japanimation before it became more popular. Also, check out The Stripper on wattpad. It's been read like over 30 million times between Spanish English and Portuguese. There are versions of all. The original which is by Evelyn Sousa is in Portuguese. Just google it!

You're the only one of my fave reviewers who even bothered with Stupid Wife, which is currently my fave show. They're all over Gap, The Series, which I could not tolerate for even one full episode. I think people think anything with amnesia is immediately ridiculous, but I've know 2 people who actually suffered amnesia so perhaps my POV is a bit more sympathetic. Now, of course it's never like it is on TV, but it is real and traumatic and actually more of us suffer from it to some degree than we realize. Most of us block out traumatic events and times in our lives. But I digress... Anyway, Stupid Wife is excellent, IMHO, even with the gaps in story continuity. I think it's the best thing Priscilla Pugilese and Natalie Smith have put out yet and they've been at it a while. And as you mentioned, Reis and Buiar are unbelievably gorgeous (especially Buiar). That alone makes the show worth watching. And there's at least one steamy scene in almost every 20-30 minute ep -- BONUS! What's not to like? By now there's a complete season 2, a bonus 4 ep Christmas arc and an up coming 3 ep college prequel arc. I recommend every single second, along with all the behind the scene stuff and podcast and other fan stuff they've put out. I'm a little obsessed.
As a Brazilian fan of Stupid Wife I'm realy proud of the series and also laugh a lot during your review! The second season is already available and I'm having a ridiculously amout of fun watching it! So I totally recomend it!

Most plots of successful lesbian dramas boil down to two hot women trading barbs of mutual loathing w/ a strong sexual undercurrent that eventually erodes away their psychological resistance to each other resulting in a sex scene for which viewers have paid the price of admission & bought the popcorn. This series differs in that the loathing is so one-sided. But who cares? The important part is that they eventually wound up in bed together. 🍿🍿🍿
At least Luiza didn't wake up w/ both amnesia & a bad case of latent heterosexuality!

I loved the series, the actresses made the interpretation really good and the chemistry is amazing! Of course it's an independent production and it's based on a fanfic, so you can't compare it to a hollywood movie (although they don't have to be better necessarily...).
I also loved how it tells a story about two married women without making the lgbtq part big. This is so rare still! Really excited for season 2!

Production wise, I'm inspired that even with less resources or equipment, they made this story come to life. It's very mind easing and exciting watching anything lesbian related. At least myself 💙

Brasileiro tem tudo complexo de vira lata mesmo, é claro que a série não é a melhor de todos os tempos, mas, trata-se de uma produtora independente, não tem recursos como uma Netflix da vida. Fora que nossa cultura é bem diferente, vocês não entendem certas coisas, por isso. A série precisa melhorar muito em todos os quesitos, mas ao invés de criticar vamos ajudar o pessoal nisso. E vocês que são de outros países façam melhor e aprendam a beijar primeiro pra depois criticar o beijo de alguém. Aqui usamos língua, brasileiro tem sangue latino gostamos da conquista do flerte.
No te enojes tanto. Por lo poco que pude entender del video tiene razón. Habla de una incongruencia evidente y profunda de la trama, que se basa específicamente en el las fallas del libro. La autora no supo cómo sostener una trama que desarrollara a una abogada en ejercicio, y la transformó en bailarina. ¿? No tiene sentido. De ser así, debés explicar por qué carajos se volvió bailarina, y si lo ama tanto, trabaja solo 2 veces por semana... Raro por dónde lo mires. Pero repito, es un error de base en cuanto a la trama de la autora del fic/libro. Error que se traslada al guion y por esa razón hay tantos baches argumentales.

I agree with everything you said here. Everything. I'm not a fan of soap operas though. I think they're ridiculous with the way they drag a plot or scene. But it's a wlw show and I'll support them by watching so that sometime in the near future they can make a movie or another web series with a better storyline. The channel that produces this series has other lesbian web series, so i was definitely interested to see what this one was about. For a low budget production, it's not too bad - choice of soundtrack/acting in some of the scenes/plotlines are a little cringe, but the story is interesting and i admit that some of the plot twists caught me off guard - like the parents getting a divorce but not really in the end because of the 'traumatic thing'. I don't know Portuguese, so i can't read the book but I am also staying away from the fan's conspiracies as i want to see where the directors take this story. I've been watching their behind the scenes content, and it does give me more appreciation about the whole production... And an insight into the drama IRL - i so love myself a good telenovela!
If you follow the show's YT channel, they announced a Christmas special episode. Does that mean that Luz survived the car crash?! I will have to wait and see.

The amnesia that Lui is suffering is a real life disorder so saying the plot is unrealistic in that regard isn't true. Also, the acting in this webseries is better than a lot of the acting on these more financed channels and streamers. For ex: First Kill. The acting is good, the writing is good, the plot is good and the chemistry between the actresses is amazing, believable & offers a level of intimacy I haven't seen in wlw stories in a long while. 9/10. I'd recommend it
Well, what I think about this series has changed big time somewhere between episodes 2 and 4, when I figured out they would spend the entire season stretching near meaningless details over full episodes, just to have more episodes.
To me there are in general 3 types of romantic movies or series, where
- type 1 is a story that has a promising beginning, where then something breaks the romance and the rest of the movie or series has nothing but an overload of drama, ending in what I would call the shortest happy end possible, where the drama ends just a couple of seconds before the end of the movie, often not even leaving enough time for an ending kiss, as seen in Anatomy of a Love Seen.
- type 2 is same as type 1 with the only difference that there is no happy end but the whole thing ends in disappointment, as seen in Blue is the Warmest Color.
- type 3 is a story that has a promising beginning, where then the romance runs into several obstacles that the lovers always overcome within a few minutes of movie time or within one episode of the series, as seen in SKAM Espana season 2.
I really can't stand type 1 and 2 anymore and I'm afraid Stupid Wife will become one prime example of a type 1 romance, even though I'm still hoping I might be wrong.
What the fans want is pretty clear either way, only producers seem to be way to slow to realize it, i.e. in The L Word it has taken them the entire first series plus two full seasons of Generation Q before giving the fans the couple they want to see together.

if you read the book/fanfiction you'll understand why Luiza hates Valentina. It is told that Valentina used to lock her and other things that I don't remember, but of course Valentina regrets all of that and is trying to make up for the bad things she did to Luiza when they were young. Anyways, it's a great webseries, I love everything about it, I'm sure it's not gonna disappoint me killing off the couple or something, besides the actresses do a great job!
