  • The Thermomix Sensor - NEW Thermomix accessory - here I set it up and do a little review. If you don't want to see the set up, just skip to a bit later in the video but it's a thumbs up from me!
You can also link it to your TM6 - in this video I just try it alongside the app on my phone. I like the function on my TM6 as I can have my phone with me in another room, if I use the app, I need to leave my phone near the oven.

That's great, I've made lots with mine now and I have found it's worked brilliantly every time. I'm glad you're enjoying yours too

Thanks for the quick response. I got it for Xmas and unfortunatly, I didnt get to use for the Xmas dinner. The leg of Lamb was hard and dry. Following the instructions of friends and cookbooks it was meant to be 3 hours at 180, but looking at what the SENSOR suggested (once it was charged ..) it was meant to be 95C.. massive difference

Sorry to hear that but your next roasts will be perfect!

PS the 95 degrees is the internal temperature and the time it takes to cook will also be affected by whether the meat has come from the fridge or is at room temperature

Thanks, happy cooking with it! I've found tins with big lips on them hard to attache it to but everything else comes out perfectly - I've just switched my tin choice when using it

But what was different than when you baked the bread loaf before? Did the recipe not tell you to put the tin for the same amount of time at the same temperature? What was different about having the sensor in?

I’ve found that the time on the Cookidoo recipes is close to what the sensor has told me but the extra few minutes I’ve left it in the oven with the sensor has meant a better rise and no need to open the oven to do a skewer test. I’ve found the biggest difference with ovens that aren’t in my home (I know mine is pretty accurate temp wise). Often my customers’ ovens and ovens at venues can be quite different to my home oven and that’s when the sensor has been really useful. In fact the turkey at Christmas cooked 30 mins longer than the instructions with the turkey (not Cookidoo) and was perfect, it would have been under-cooked based on the M&S printed instructions with the turkey.

Cooking to core temperature is always for more accurate than cooking by time.

This looks like a meater probe. I'm sure it is, just rebranded. As I already own a "Meater".... can I use my existing meater. Seems crazy if it is the same, as I'm sure it is....... that I have to buy another just to link it. Help much appreciated.

I haven't tried it myself but I don't see why not. If you just check what the target temp is for your bread/cake then it should work. The difference with the sensor is that it connects to the thermomix. I used to have to leave my phone in the kitchen or it would lose connection with the meater, but with the sensor I don't have to (although I could connect it to the app instead).

The Meater won't, it's just the sensor that connects to your thermomix @@TonysTravels2023
