    It always surprises me how much an image can be enhanced through editing. Makes me understand the shot doesn't need to be exactly perfect right off the bat! It's inspiring to me - anyone else? :)

    • @danieljoseph3191
      @danieljoseph3191 4 роки тому +40

      yes and no. In my experience the closer I have my raw shot to perfect the better my edits are. All inspiring nonetheless! I've always been afraid of the S-Curve but I think I'm finally ready after this video

    • @EmilyMatthews
      @EmilyMatthews 4 роки тому +4

      @@danieljoseph3191 That's a very valid point. So you prefer to set the shot as close to your ideal version as possible, this way there's only a few edits?
      Would you prefer to take a shot that requires less edits (because it's close to perfect right off the bat) or to take the shot another way and edit it (so that it's perfect) ?

    • @mislam13
      @mislam13 4 роки тому +6

      I thought it was common practice to frame your shot as close to the end result as possible, so that it makes it easier to edit later on down the road. Personally, that's what i do. When I a have the time to properly frame my shot i take that opportunity, if not, I will take the photo to the best of my abilities and fix it in post edit.

    • @ukinam2143
      @ukinam2143 4 роки тому +7

      In my opinion the process of taking the actual photo is as important if not more important than the post processing. Framing your shots, waiting for the perfect lighting, composing with intention and to capture emotion are all there. The best photos in the world required little to no editing. I believe studying old masters really enhances your skillset as a photographer and your sensitivity to the subject you are shooting. I suggest Ansel Adams, Richard Avedon, Henri Cartier and Dorothea Lange are names all photographers can learn from.

    • @ronaldbenz_
      @ronaldbenz_ 4 роки тому +4

      Well, the thing is: Take pictures the best you can, editing can't save all photos.
      Maybe someone needs a photo right away, so you'll be good with your non edited photo.

    For those who are asking - there is no difference between adding a S-Curve to the individual R, G, B channels and adding the same S-Surve to the dedicated RBG channel.
    Save yourself from destroying your white balance by just apply a global RGB S-Curve. 😂

    • @flipfilms1759
      @flipfilms1759 4 роки тому +8

      There is a difference, with the individual ones you can have variation within the RBG curves which will result in some different colors in your photo. It can help you get a look you otherwise would not get with the regular RGB curve. The dedicated RGB curve and the individual ones will yield the same result only if you apply the same exact curve adjustment to each R,G,B channel.

    • @MichaelTaylorFilms
      @MichaelTaylorFilms 4 роки тому +3

      @@flipfilms1759 that would be the case if that's the effect that was looking to be achieved in this photo 😂 but each channel was simply just a standard S-Curve 😂

    • @flipfilms1759
      @flipfilms1759 4 роки тому +1

      Michael Taylor if u watched the video closely you would see that the curves were a little bit different from eachother. The curves are very sensitive a small change on the graph can yield a large result on the photo. Oh I almost forgot 😂
