The problem with the bycyle test is you are holding them, they need to be hard mounted to see how the both cope with the ground vibration, holding them removes most if not all of the hard hitting bumps and vibrations

Basically no difference at all for most of the time from the 9 and one should wait 3 to 4 generations before upgrading since they release the same camera almost on a yearly basis with a new label, it's still unusable indoors with its low light issue.
Whilst I agree with most of your points, the 10 does look noticeable sharper in details such as grass and pavements.

@@-SUNSHINE-192 Yup, this is very noticeable. The grass and individual paving stones are far more detailed on the 10 than the 9, even at the same resolution.
Yeah, for indoors and dim city streets videos, my iPhone 12 Pro Max produces much brighter and colorful videos than any current GoPro camera. And with the new iPhone 13, the difference between the GoPro cameras is going to be even larger. With the new depth of field adjustment capability, the iPhone 13 can produce more cinematic-looking footage than even the Hero 10.

You’re right with the iPhone being more cinematic than the GoPro with depth of field shots. Remember that the new cinematic mode on the iPhone is only at 1080p/30fps. GoPro just has a single lens camera with no optical zoom.
Shame that they never increased the camera resolutions or frame rates on the iPhone. Still max standard resolution of 4K/60fps and slow motion at 1080p/240fps.
I feel that the 10 isn't much of an improvement. Im an audio engineer and I also do videography, so I would be able to edit in post with the 9.

Off topic: Can’t tell if the clarity has Improve a bit for hero 10 or it’s just sharpened. The grass is a bit more detailed on the 10 as for the the 9 it’s blurry.
It looks like artificial sharpening to me :/

Hi all, Question. On the 7 series, I could see in real-time what the Gopro was seeing in the video mode on my phone. I think the limit was 2.7k. This was no longer an option on the 9. Is it back on in the 10?

No, not at all. If you aren't outside with plenty of light the quality is garbage

The GP10 is doing a lot more digital sharpening and this adds this digital look.
But it's hard to judge with UA-cam compression....

Which gopro can you recommend me better the 8 or the 10 version? I have never used before and this would be my first buying. I would use only on holiday / trips but not constantly.
I would like to use only in 4 K.. I read so many positive and negative comments so I am uncertain about decision.
1:59 Dynamic range is much better on GoPro-9. See the clouds, which are blown out in GoPro-10

how do i know if my sd card is producing what my camera is capable of recording? i dont wanna buy the go pro 9 and then buy a sd card off amazon and not have them be compatable and producing the same video. hopefully that makes sense
So far the hero 9 seems to be smoother with stabilization. But as usual when ever a new hero comes out there's always some issues that get updated and fixed. Also hero 10 doesn't seem to have any better audio quality but it does seem to pick up sound just a little more. And I like that hero 10 also has the extra colour options . Which I don't know why they just add that to hero 9. The vivid colour profile does look alot better than 9's bit too vibrant GroPro colour profile
I am happy they included the "natural" color profile...but it should be added to the 9 as well
Would you recommend the 9 BUNDLE or the 10 (no bundle) for $30 more (via website) but includes subscription?

The video of the 9 seems much more compressed. Grass seems much more detailed in the 10 and the bricks on buildings more defined also. Do you have the 9 set to its lowest compression ??

Hi there. Good video. I'm thinking of buying the GOPRO 10. (it will be my first gopro), at least on the GP page, the price difference is minimal. Even so, in relation to the use of the screen (they say that the 9 has problems with the use of the rear screen) as well as errors or that the camera freezes ... have you noticed any of these software problems with the 10?

20 min overheat rumors on the 10
I've only had it for a day now...but there are some issues. First of all it overheats and it shuts down... when you charge it it gets too hot and it freezes...so...it's far from perfect..

Whats going on at the begining, 10 is shaking so much but 9 is perfectly stable.
Actually all the time when he holds it steady 10 is shaking
10 looks more sharper but kinda unnatural, like its increased softwarely.
Great video, I have upgraded to the 10 from the 6, so to me the improvements on the hardware will be massive, but I think the 9 does well in comparison, but you can definitely see some improvements on resolution, and contrast, ultimately they have always been poor in low light, what next...night vision on the next go pro.

Just a little pointer though, you should put the center of the lens on each GoPro equidistant from the center (handle) of the mounting rig. This is because the further you get from the center the greater the amount of movement.
I agree with you but I just don't have how to get them closer to the center...unless I attach them on top of each other...but that will create other issues...
@@RedskullPro What you need to do is move the left one (when the lens are looking at you) out to the edge further so it's the same distance from the center as the right hand side one.
They should fix some of those issues with the firmware update. Just like when the hero 9 was released..

How many times did the 10 freeze while testing? My Gopro Hero 10 freezes from just changing the settings. Then it takes forever to reset holding the side button. It's a shame. The sample videos on UA-cam look so good.

Based on your test videos, 9 has better stabilization. This is odd as 10 is suppose to have better stabilization.
Yea I noticed that also but question is if he turned on horizon leveling and which stabilisation mode did he use 🤔 but by all means I was confused by the minimal shake the 10 gave over the 9.
It’s probably due to the new chip. They most definitely have not worked out all of the bugs yet. I bet you the stabilization will improve in time with future software updates.
I’m in the market to buy A go pro I have never owned an action camera. The stabilization on the 10 sucks, but everything else looked better than the 9. The 10 looked physically nauseating with the shaky cam. I’m going to wait just feels like a deal breaker to me.

I can definitely tell that the colors from the 10 are more vibrant than that of the colors from the 9, could be just a setting adjustment, I don’t own either of these cameras.
I heard the hero 10 overheats, does the 9 overheat also? Looking to buy one of these cameras. Thanks for the advice.
I've used the 9 for just over a year shooting videos for my business. I've never had it overheat on me.

i want to say the gopro hero 10 appears a bit over sharpened as the hero 9 appears a little more natural and not artificially sharpened.
the improvement is tiny but definitely there. I have the 9 and i think i will stick to it since there the gape is very tiny between both 9 and 10 even a bit noticeable. If i had the 7 or 8 i would definitely go for the 10 because the difference would be massive but for now i will stick to the 9 and wait for the 11.

So the intro was filmed with a Samsung S21 and the rest with the Sony A6400

The thing is... the gopro 10 will get better with some future updates...so it's not gonna be as it is now forever. I think you should spend the extra $50 and get the 10

In the image stability tests the 9 is noticeably blurrier. Just pause on any frame during movement. I noticed it in the alley shot.

For some reason, the 9 looks more stable, especially in the very first test, where I am seeing a slight side to side jittering on the 10. Whenever I see that, it reminds me of the GoPro clones (one of which I had in the past), that can't seem to shake that type of jittering (pun intended). The conclusion for me is that my 9 is perfectly fine.

if you pause the video during difference scenes you can see the 10 picks up more detail and overall sharper, especially on that driveway with the pavers.The 9 also looks better stability wise while being held still or moving slowly. mic on the 10 sounds more natural and less boomy than the 9.

I would expect to see dimm light indoor shots. Like a dinner table or a party which is more important than empty streets.
Also I think image stabilization is more realistic on GP10. I had a better feeling what is going on. I mean do you realy want to look like flying while you are running.

I was gonna take about this in a video tomorrow... But to answer your question...the gopro 10 overheats and shuts down within 20 minutes of filming...

The 10 has better clarity in videos for example, you can see alo more quality in the image if you look at trees and grass they have more detail in the image and the audio on the 10 seems clearer also. the lighting on the 10 is nicer at night also but i found there was less glare on your face in from the 9 when cameras were pointed at you. Im not sure which i buy really as I'd be buying the media mic attachment anyway. I think it'll be a good all round action and vlog camera to stick in your pocket and record fast.
