I was fortunate enough to see him skate it he late 80's at our local park, Apple Skatepark in Columbus, Ohio...he was totally mind-boggling...acid drops into a 14' deep kidney pool with more vertical than should have ever been legal. He is and always will be a legend to skaters.
All these big skaters today have taken the technical aspect too far, they're all the same, and might as well be robots. Duane is style, while he may not be doing triple backflips, he's far more entertaining than any other skater out there. He's the man.
I saw this vid when I was new to skating, but even then I knew this old school bowl rider was a bad ass. I only learned he invented most of those tricks recently.
It’s also much fuckin easier coming up with shit to call your own at the dawn of skateboarding than trying to do the same shit years later when everyone is a fuckin god at skating and you can’t get away with the same lame bullshit guys like Duane, Jay, or Tony did 🤷♂️

someone plz correct me if i'm wrong but does he skate better now than when he was young? i saw him skate a few times when i was a kid and i don't recall him skating this well. He was always great, but this video rocks, and yes.... he used to use copers.
That low, full on frontside grind at 1:09 and the way he uses speed from it to hit the corner coming back the other way is reminds me of surfing. He charges speed lines from a low center of gravity. Cool.
I skate his Pro model wheels he has on Emergency... 58mm and hard as fuck, guess that's what he skates too... for the board just look at the Emergency models and for the trucks i'd say 169 too...
Since it is Peters, I will bet that the risers are Cell Blocks(old school no longer made) If I had to guess, the bearings are old NMB Gold, and the wheels are probably Blackhearts by they way they sing so loudly---
