I know that he should have not done this but you understand that he didn't go into anyone, nor did he try to run over people and missed them. It is brutal what he did but also it isn't attempted murder if the intention wasn't murder. Attempted murder implies intention of murder. The parade blocked exits and the entire road. There has been an influx of road rage that I’ve personally noticed and I’m sure many others have too. People’s patience is getting thinner and egos are getting bigger. This man is on a different level but I think it highlights a big issue that is brewing up in society. Be considerate on the roads
@@UncoolForYou This is a bit of an ignorant comment. Accidents aren't caused by the safe driver. They do end up the victims, though. Pay attention to everything happening on the road.
Though there are maniacs out there, a lot of people are really going through it lately. Life has only gotten harder, money doesnt go as far anymore. Put all that behind the wheel of a car where youre already at a heightened stress level and you get a lot of road rage.
I think part of the reason is because we simply take our cars everywhere so much and infrastructure isn't very good for pedestrians or other forms of transportation. Sounds a bit out there I know but I feel like ppl huddled in a car day in day out causes anti social behavior which can sometimes cause road rage. You don't care about the journey you just desperately wanna go home.
I'd like to note that not only are parades planned in advance, the grand floral parade is annual and is a huge deal in portland. it's part of rose festival WEEK, and is hyped up for more than a month in advance.
This was my thoughts exactly. If you're running late or you have to be somewhere in a certain amount of time, it's your responsibility to plan ahead. So, looking for road closures, traffic conditions ect and leaving in time for the random events that can set you back. If he wasn't running late for something then I have no idea why someone would get upset about a detour... And obviously there's no excuse for getting SO upset about a detour that you plow through a closed road into a parade.
As a young teenager, I had awful anger issues that took years of therapy to figure out and heal from. I’ve NEVER been this mad And learning he was also a pedo gave me whiplash like I never expected him to be THAT bad
It's extraordinary how warped the perspective of an individual with a personality disorder can get. He probably believes he's the very model of a moral citizen and everyone else, including his victims, are the ones who are immoral. Narcissism of this level is frightening. Darrell Brooks comes to mind. Thankfully this fellow hadn't hit peak rage because he certainly has the potential to go full Darrell.
To be fair news anchor said he was arrested when he was 15 so it's most likely a SA of someone of his own age, not that it would make him a good person though lol
While I’m glad this guy got arrested, I also find it hilarious that he really screwed himself over with his own dash cam footage. Dude literally filmed evidence against himself in 4k.
Not even a joke. This teacher had the gall to look at an 8 year old who brought his own toys to class and tell him to put them away because he wouldn't share with anyone else. They were my toys and no one else's, keep your booger picking godamn no swipey no wipey finger sniffing dirt washing crust covered fingers off my toys.
I grew up in a turbulent household so I find it hard to keep my negative emotions in check(anger, sadness, frustration, etc). I have punched a few walls in my life but I have NEVER been pushed to do anything even 1/4 as drastic as this. This is a level of unhinged that I cannot even imagine.
@JeffGoldblum64 Absolutely agree. I have gotten away from my toxic biological parents(my mom mostly, my dad I still talk to once in a while) and my ex stepdad and his new wife have kind of adopted my sister and I, the healing we have gotten just from that alone is tremendous. We finally get some normality at the ripe ages of 30 and 32 lol
Just gotta say as somebody who’s been struggling with anger issues their entire life this is still insane to me, like yea I get this angry sometimes but it’s always without fail in my own home, never in public
I used to have bad anger issues, not to the point of harming people physically but i would yell and punch holes in my own walls after a while of fixing holes spending all the money i was starting to see this shit aint worth it, and the one and only time i yelled at my fiance at thr time, then thats the day i stopped being angry and everything she had nothing to do with my anger it wasnt fair
I have anger issues but it usually involved a plate or my phone.. those get broken too often.. but I've never even thought about touching kids and driving through a parade
@@theredhunter4997anger is a natural emotion and can be used when the scenarios beg of it. Too much of anything is bad though leading to the unnecessary anger issues.
@@PhoenIXPhantasies Yeah he just screamed that the road was being blocked and proceeded to try to break through the parade being held. My father was this way, he had a severe bipolar disorder. Grew up my entire life with that fear, the smallest things would set him off on a rampage. On the bright side however, I've become extremely good at de-escalation.
This isn't a man who's mad at a parade or a detour. This is a man who's mad at many, many things, and who's last straw was a parade/detour. The fact that they can say he’s been in AND OUT of prison for sex crimes with minors is part of why I don’t trust our justice system anymore. What society allows garbage like that to ever breathe fresh air again?
Well the justice system is corrupt anyways but some people are stupid enough to believe in multiple second chances even though once you are an adult you’re most likely to never change your awful behaviors.

This happened a few years ago in Waukesha WI. Someone bulldozed through a parade and killed a ton of people including kids. My mom worked in the hospital that night, and that was probably one of the most traumatizing nights for her. She's told me a lot of horror stories from the E.R, from witnessing burn victims to suicide survivors, but seeing a parent clutching their childs head as their brains were spilling out was probably the worst she's had to witness.
@@Misselfilmen The Waukesha parade attacker was a SovCit BLM supporter, oh... but libtards like you don't let the facts confuse their narrative, do they?
A lot of people have actually been this angry, they just have that thing that stops them from doing something unhinged in the anger. This man let his intrusive thoughts win and did something extremely reckless. I'm just glad that he didn't hurt anyone.
3:05 That was a bold move by that motorcycle officer, very dangerous. He’s there to protect the public even if he needs to literally put himself between them and the threat.
A thing to remind everyone of as well is this: Parades are not unscheduled, announced events lol. Remember, this was not just being inconvenienced, he definitely should've known there was a parade, or at least checked his route home lol.
especially with the Portland flower parade. Isn't this an annual thing? I mean, I don't know much about the US, but I know about portland and their famous roses. If he is a local, he definitely should know about this!
I might have flipped my computer the bird, hit alt-f4, and tossed the controller on the floor the 40somethingth time Fire Giant killed me, but at least I didn't run over a parade!
After seeing what Darrel brooks did, this behavior is absolutely worth getting life in prison even if no one was hit. Psychopath is a major danger to society.
When he mentioned that he drove through a parade it reminded me of what he did, but when he mentioned what he did to kids, it was almost like history was repeating itself.
Also the box van attack in Nice, France back in 2016. And I think there was one in Sweden, too. And I want to say there was another similar incident to what Darrel Brooks did, but maybe I'm misremembering.
The part where he is clearly considering running people down on purpose just before leaving the area is so insane. Like he genuinely believes that somehow every person attending the parade is there to intentionally and very personally ruin his commute. The level of delusional narcissism required to think like this is just unfathomable to me.
There's a lot to this, honestly. The fact that he is still on sex offender charges that he committed when he was 15, says a lot already. His situation might have been looking at prison time whether he stayed and waited for that line to get to his destination or doing what he did. That isn't someone who is blindsided by his anger to know he's getting some serious consequences
I'm not gonna defend this guy in particular but there are plenty of people convicted of sex crimes with minors when they were also minors. If he did something with a minor as a 30 year old, well, that's fucked up.
@@Hawk7886 it was clearly stated in the video that he was charged with sex crimes at the age of 15, making him also a minor. Most every state would not be releasing a repeat offender. kinda sick to throw that pedo term around like that even if this is a disgusting person for putting so many lives in danger. Its not pedophilia if he was also a minor at that time.
I have severe anger issues & PMDD. I'm not in danger of hurting anyone, but this is really eye-opening for me. I don't wanna ruin my life over a "slight detour" & end up even worse. I needed to see this today. Thank you, Charlie. Great video, as always.

I've had trouble expressing emotions in the past, and one thing I learned is that bottling up emotions leads to it being explsively unleashed, usually in anger, sadness, happiness or anxiety. even bottling up my whole life would not lead to an outburst like that dude, holy shit.
A lot of women come across like emotional basket cases because they cry so often over the silliest shit, but, i don't know....they might be on to something.
I'm a miserable person but never have I ever been this angry. Or at the very least I never let it out or put it on anyone. This guy is just insane lol.
I’m definitely an asshole but im pretty sure this guy is 2 out of every 10 pickup truck drivers; literally insane and upset at nothing. Driving their Dodge ram like they stole it and they’re giving birth all at the same time
I was there when that guy drove through working for the parade as a tow truck driver in case if the parade floats get stuck, when he turned off the main parade route he started taking the roads around the mall and just tore ass through them and I saw him in my rear view mirror. I remember hearing constant honking that got louder and louder and people starting to get more worried about what's happening around me And our other drivers on our ham radios say not someone is tearing through the parade at high speeds and keep a lookout for them. The thing people do when they get a slightly bruised ego is amazing... This happened in Portland specifically during the floral parade that happens every year on the same freaking day.
I was once out on a Saturday evening drive in my convertible completely unaware that my hometown was having its homecoming parade. I approached an intersection where I was ushered in with the other vehicles that were actually in the parade. I just sort of awkwardly waved to people and played it off as if I was supposed to be there
Saying “why isn’t he getting punished no one got hurt” is like saying we can all attempt literally any crime but as long as it isn’t successful we shouldn’t be punished for it. If that man isn’t the main character’s arch nemesis I don’t know who is.
You know what's crazy? The law itself uses that logic sometimes. For example in Chris Hansen's sting operations, when a dude shows up with a condom and the absolute obvious intent to do the dirty with a child, they're often not imprisoned because they didn't commit the act..
Something like this happened in Wisconsin and a lot of people got hurt. Hearing about this story filled me with so much fear and rage that it almost happened again.
As someone who has serious issues keeping calm, I can't fathom being so mad you're willing to risk killing other people who have no part in your anger.
Watching the full video the craziest thing is how well what he does synchs up with the music he's playing on his car stereo. It's like the guy prepared his own soundtrack.
My dad and I were driving earlier this year and out of nowhere some guy cuts us off and started giving us the finger. His face looked so angry our first reaction was to start laughing. That had to have been the most hilarious face I've ever seen someone make when they're upset, so much so to the point where we couldn't even be mad that he almost hit us. I want to know how he felt about seeing us dying in the car at him.

I was hesitating to make a right turn on a yellow light and this old lady was making a left turn so we both went face to face stopping in the intersection and I let her go and she stared me down like I was at fault
Dude cut me off and i flipped him off and he went and followed me to a light trying to intimidate me. I rolled down my window locked eyes with him concisely ,looked into the fiber of that mans being and proceeded to give him the blankest thousand yard stare. For seconds at a red light. Slowly discomfort grows in his body language and he just looked away. I didnt have to say anything. Things arent good rn, and if im being honest im just waiting for an excuse to get out of my car and wail on someone. A word didnt even need to be said. Just a simple blank stare implying all the physical intention i had towards this random man. His toughguy act cracks like limestone and he just drives away .

Man, Charlie really does just have his finger on the pulse of all these things. You ever notice how whenever it cuts to a clip of his stream and someone asking him "Did you see the the other day?" 95% of the time Charlie's answer is, like, "oh yeah of course" lmao
I once accidentally drove into an area of my town that had been blocked off for a parade. In my defense it was the day before the actual parade and so not all of the streets had signage or anything on them indicating that they couldn't be driven on, by the time I realised my mistake I was already too far in to turn around so I just kept driving (very) slowly until I exited the whole area on the opposite side. It wasn't anything like this. At most I got some angry stares and a couple of people waving at me. Embarrassing for sure, but not dramatic in the least lol
In her sentencing argument in the Darrell Brooks trial, Sue Opper said she could have thrown the book at him with 5,000 charges. One for each person at the parade. But she chose to only charge for those who were injured or killed. I think the Portland prosecutor did something similar, only charging for those directly in the path of the truck. But, there could have been hundreds more charges.
I was an Odot instructor in that area. Very few students believed us when we told them don't interact with road ragers. This video needs to be used as an example.
The reason why it’s called anger issues is bc you can explode like this or constantly feel like exploding. It’s unnecessary but understandable. Have you genuinely never been that mad or do you just prefer not to let anyone know? Is your anger like a constant thing or explosive bouts?

It is brutal what he did but also it isn't attempted murder if the intention wasn't murder. Attempted murder implies intention of murder. The parade blocked exits and the entire road. He couldn't turn around or anything. I am not justifying his actions but to call this attempted murder is plain ignorance.

I think part of the reason is because we simply take our cars everywhere so much and infrastructure isn't very good for pedestrians or other forms of transportation.

I'd like to note that not only are parades planned in advance, the grand floral parade is annual and is a huge deal in portland. it's part of rose festival WEEK, and is hyped up for more than a month in advance.

This man shouldn't have been let out of jail in the first place. After so many repeated offenses at some point there is no chance for redemption. Especially when it comes to crimes against kids.
Im glad no one was hurt and at the end of the day thats the most important part. Just seeing the footage and kids almost getting hit stopped my heart.
3:31 my man sounds like john marston looking for Micah
At this point, I’m convinced that a sanity test should be conducted on people before they get their drivers license.
@user-up1id5rv2m no
@user-up1id5rv2mthe land of the free shouldn't even have driving tests
@user-up1id5rv2myou gotta be very blatantly insane to even get recommended a test
@user-up1id5rv2m Kind of, but that really isn't the issue for this case. This guy had his license suspended. **He wasn't supposed to be driving. It is illegal for him. He did it anyway.**
How would you measure someone's sanity level in a test? There's a lot of people who have mental illness but would never do this kind of thing.
As a former crying baby, I can confirm I have once been this mad.
Penguinz0 inspires me... My parents said if i get 50k followers they'd buy me a professional camera for recording begging u guys.❤
ive been this mad when my mom didnt pull over to get me a happy meal
Unoriginal
I hope you didn't have access to a half ton truck as a three year old
Did you die?
As a Portland native, I've been telling people for YEARS that road-rage was a real issue here. Glad it's finally getting the national attention it deserves!
What a goofy ass comment 😂 stop being extra.
bro its legit so bad here. i grew up in the deep south and never saw as many angry jackasses in big trucks as i do in portland. fuckers are 1 bad mcdonalds order away from driving into a crowd of pedestrians at all times
Your city and state have a lot more problems than just road rage. Rampant public drug use, violent crime, companies leaving the state. At least the state thinks you guys are smart enough to pump your own gas.
@@brandonerrorcontentmissing4012there are problems like that in a lot of states. He didn't say road rage was the only problem in portland so what is the point of your comment?
@@brandonerrorcontentmissing4012 Most of those issues are relegated to downtown and the west side of the city. But doesn't matter anyway, our elected officials couldn't even fix our traffic problems (instead exacerbating them in the name of being eco-friendly). How on earth would you ever expect us to fix crime or the economy?!
I am sad to see the gas thing go. Full service was a privilege many don't even know they miss until it's gone.
"He didn't hurt anyone" wait till they find out attempted murder is a crime
i feel like if he went to court and excused myself like "i was having the worst time of my life, i snapped at the wrong time and almost killed lots of people, i take full accountability for my actions and i know my mistakes, i am guilty." he would get a WAYYY lighter sentence.
He probably would've, had he also not committed heinous crimes in the past
Just like child predators except they don't even acknowledge the hurt they caused!
And still get less than what he would have gotten as a lighter sentence!!
When someone blows up like this, it's less about the inconvenience itself and more about them already being extremely on edge. It's also already bad enough that this dude has messed with kids, but I literally cannot even imagine the wrath that those kids must have experienced with this guy in particular.
I don't think this guy is a pedo. They said he'd be in juvie for sex crimes when he was 15, POSSIBLY MEANING he was a minor and the people involved were minors. Lots of people very quick to assume he's a pedo.
@@jaypeg420important detail: he reoffended after he got out
@@jaypeg420 Either way, he could have very likely been brutal towards his victims and they will have to live with what he did to them for the rest of their lives.
@@jaypeg420he reoffended in 2018 :/ well over when he himself was a minor.
@winglessbat is there a article to read.
it's wild to me that people are actually saying that he shouldn't be charged just because no one got hurt. It makes think these people ARE like this guy. And that's just scary.
The experienced guys in our small town marching band love to tell me the story about this one insane dude who tried to drive THROUGH the band on his moped as we were marching and playing (on a narrow road with canals on both sides, because Netherlands). He didn't even get past the trombones. They beat him up and tossed his moped into one of the canals. No one ever tried that again lmao
I have to ask, did they beat him up *with* their trombones? XD But seriously, what a nutjob, glad the band put a stop to his crap immediately
I suffer from severe anger issues that have led me to break a lot of things in my life but I could absolutely never get angry enough to endanger the people around me holy shit
Sounds like you both shouldn’t be trusted with a gun.
I'm similar, I have broken a number of objects I've owned in anger but was still fully aware I've what I was doing. I've also restrained myself many times when I knew the consequences outweighed the brief feeling of elation from giving in to the anger. And similarly I've hurt never anyone in anger and don't think I could. Everyone sees red given the right circumstances, it's how you control it that separates civilised behaviour from animalistic behaviour.
@@karambeet6987 god forbid someone has a problem, acknowledges it as such, is open about it and tries to make it better lol
@@ZuchiniiiI mean, I commend them for wishing to change, but I would not want to be around someone with anger issues either. I value my safety too much. I am assuming this other person means the same.
@@Pandamaxx sure, then don't. You can choose the people you want to be around with depending on your haircut if you like, you do you. But no need to be a condescending cringelord like the commentator was
5:38 why did this make me laugh
Cause that was funny asf
As someone who has been hit by a car, it's the most painful experience of my life. Walking across the street at a corner, a guy took the turn without yielding, and hit going about 25mph. Broke my arm at the shoulder socket, split open the back of my scalp, and banged up my knee. Laying there on the ground, staring up at the pitch black sky, there was a moment where I honestly thought, "Holy shit! I'm dead!" Then my body began throbbing in agony. That was a good thing. "I'm alive! I'm also in great pain!"
The driver did stop, and call 911, but I still remember the two most idiotic sentences from his mouth. "Oh, my god, dude! I'm so sorry I didn't see you. Are you hurt?" I showed him my blood covered hands and yelled, "What do you think?!" He takes out his phone and says, "I'm calling 911. Don't move."
Turns out later it was a 17 year-old kid that hit me. He was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian and his insurance covered the damages. That was probably the closest I had ever come to death, and I had gone through Iraq!
The 8 year old he was talking to online told him her parents weren't home
This shouldn’t be funny but it is lmao
I rarely get mad, but this guy makes my anger look like a small child temper tantrum
NO WAY, I JUST MET CHARLIE ON MY UA-cam! 100% REAL! (OMG HE JUST CAME TO MY HOUSE AT 3 AM!)😱💯
@OfficerBMTfatherless, motherless, no one loves you?
@OfficerBMT you are pathetic.
@OfficerBMT You think that you are so superior but you are low as a rat on your superiority. That is the cheapest insult you could pull on anyone and I'm sure most people in this comment section aren't even potty trained but even they know that you are acting like a little bratty child
lol "child" temper tantrum... and he's a child toucher.
Its impressive how a dude like that even makes it to his age
As someone who's worked middle management in customer service retail my whole life I've seen plenty of people this mad over minor dissatisfaction, at the edge, ready to jump.
they were likely pissed at smth else and just took it out on you
Yep at my old job somebody got shot cause they didn't have fruit punch. You never know...
Why does someone need to get hurt for there to be consequences?
Anger doesnt explain this behavior. This is straight up sociopathy. Its not fueled by anger its fueled by his lack of comprehension or care of how his actions affect others around him. Anger doesnt come close to describe this.
Glad I wasn’t the only person that noticed that he actually considered running the crowd over before deciding against it
This anger isn't something you can just pull out. He's been charging this one up for a while.
I’m a Delivery Driver. I’ve run through the world of emotions being out on the road for 8-12 hours a day but dammmnnn! This dude needs keep a bag of ice by his side at all times. 😂
