If you struggle with the shape of the acorn, you could try thrifting a beret hat. That shape is simular to an acorn top. But your hat is adorable and will bring all the squirl squeaks to the yard
Yeah I’ll have to add that skill to my list of things to learn. Store bought berets are always too small for me so I’d have to make something custom, but doing an acorn beret is definitely a good idea 👍🏼
Great timing! I recently found a table cover with accorn embroidery that I was thinking of turning into a skirt. This just gave me inspiration for a matching cap ❤
Great video. You did an amazing job. The hat looks fantastic. I really enjoyed watching the whole process from start to finish. It’s beautiful! I think you underestimate your skill.
lol it was so relatable when Poppy nosed in for attention. Every time I start working on my current project- a quilt- both of my cats will suddenly appear and as soon as I lay out the two sides that I have done so far they lay right on it. At least I know the blanket will be well received when it's done? lol
Love that you named your mannequin head Harold! I bought a dark green velvet-like skull from Target last month, and also named him Harold. I don’t think I can use him for making hats, and I also don’t know why I named him Harold. It just felt right. I guess Harold is a popular (and great!) name for skulls or mannequin heads! 😂 Also the whip stitch and the gathering on the leaves was genius! Made them look more realistic. Love it all!
i made a silly pinecone hat for a party, and i used a cheap hat for a base... it didnt fit quite as well, and if i ever make an autumnal hat again i might take your idea of making a template!!
This one is too cute! Yes, felt is very fun. It's easy to make, too. Dog hair felt? The hand stitching made it better, for sure. You might be able to push down the stem and make it a bit more acorny. :D Mary Barker for sure. A bluebell hat?
Your hair looks *amazing* in this video qween 👏 Also I dare you to make a felt or wool version of one of your pets. You know the needle felting or whatever it's called.
This is so cute!!! I just got an acorn purse at a ren faire and now I want to make a hat like this to go with it for a forest fairy festival I’m attending next week with my daughter!
Thank you! I wanna do some fall decor but we’ve had a lot of chaos around the house haha but maybe I’ll do some cute little garlands or something. Or maybe some pumpkin plushes/pillows.
That sounds cute! I’ve been wanting to make some sort of mushroom hat that isn’t the typical/popular one that eve egg one makes. I’ll have to ponder on that.
I looove the result tho imagine it would have helped to extend the bottom part some to wrap it outwardly similar to beanies to create the acorn's lower ridge they have. Still an awesome base to work with, maybe even add in a stretchy band on the inside to keep it in place.
Yeah I’ll have to workshop it. It still looks cute but definitely want to make the bottom roll in a little so it’s flatter up top and rounder on the bottom. Maybe rolling it up like you said then putting the texture on top. I have plenty of leftover materials to try another design.
@@DressMeUpScotty Shall love seeing the results if you ever create a new one or add on to this one! & yep giving it more dimensionality with a slight rounded brim will make it cuter with a better silhouette.
Love the hat...so cute! I'm going to try and make one for my Blythe doll. Here's an idea (maybe) I saw somewhere a pocket book/cross body bag/hand bag that was the shape of a mushroom (sort of like a box but round) with the top part to open like a lid with hinges and a clasp. I'm sure you know what I mean.
I thought about it, but because of my large noggin all my berets fit me weird 😂 maybe I’ll try another version with a beret though if I can find a big enough one lol
The hand stitching was worth the effort it really elevated the look. it's so cute 🍁🍂😊
Thank you!!🙏
well that's frickin adorable
Tysm! 🥰
the hand stitching omg im sure it took forever but was so worth the effort this is SO CUTE 🐿️❤️
Thank you! 😊

Super cute. I think I'll have to make myself one now. 🍂❤
Yes! Do it it’s so cute 🥰
yay for more craft videos!! such a fun little hat
Thank you! ☺️
Super cute! The extra embellishments on the leaf - the paint, whipstitch, and especially the gathering - made such a difference. Great job!
Thank you! 🙏

Haha idk why, Harold just feels natural.

I absolutely love Cecily Mary Barker..
I have that fairy you showed...I do believe Miss Barker would love your hat...I sure do 😊
When I was looking for inspo for this hat I saw some pinecone hats as well! That sounds cute. Feel free to use any ideas for your future hat making 🥰
Aww ty!! I love Cicely Mary Barker so much 🥰

I completely love the hat! And, bonus I think I could actually make one.😊 Thank you, Chaotic Craft Goblin, Queen, Ma'am!❤😅
Yay! Hope you make one 🥰
Well this is a gosh darn adorable idea! It turned out great. Love the extra stitches!
Thanks so much! 😊
Your hair looks *amazing* in this video qween 👏

Yay!! I hope you make one, that sounds so cute!!
This turned out so cute!
You could make a fun fantasy felt garland!
Great idea!! Thank you 🥰
This is exactly the fall craft I needed!!!!! Definitely inspired me to try and make my own! Thank you, Fairy Queen!
I'm so glad! Hope you make one! Add to the acorn warrior army! We will chuck acorns and walnuts at our enemies from the treetops! 😂🐿️
Very cute! I hope you will do some fall decor, thrifting, and decorating. That's always fun. Enjoy your day
Thank you! I wanna do some fall decor but we’ve had a lot of chaos around the house haha but maybe I’ll do some cute little garlands or something. Or maybe some pumpkin plushes/pillows.
This is just so adorable 😍 🌰🍃 How about a toadstool next 🍄🍂❤

How about a moss hat for your next project?
I’ve had some ideas rolling around my noggin involving moss and a headpiece 🤔- perhaps I’ll try to workshop those concepts more.
I loved this video! I was so excited after seeing your acorn hat on Instagram this week!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 🥰☺️

Yes! I love that idea 🥰
That turned out so flippen cute!
Thank you! 😊
I can envision making one of these using a Brown Beret as a base :)
I thought about it, but because of my large noggin all my berets fit me weird 😂 maybe I’ll try another version with a beret though if I can find a big enough one lol
Super cute. Looks great!
Acorn fairy diy? Serotonin goes brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
🥰❤️🐿️
Adorable, my friend!!!
Thank you very much!
It's so cute and whimsicalllll
love it!!
Ty! ❤️
YES, Slappy Squirrel!!
She’s my spirit animal 😂
I've been wanting to make one for years
This is your sign! Dooo it 🥰
What about a dark flower hat for Halloween/dark whimsy goth vibes?!?
Looks like an adorable concept, can't wait to see!
🥰❤️
I love this so much
Thank you so much 😊
Make it a beret! That’s the perfect shape.
I’ve seen a few people use berets as bases or make acorn berets. My head is large so I struggle with berets 😂
Do you know the Pumpkin hat from Animal Crossing Pocket Camp? That one would prob be very cute❤
That’s a good idea! Pocket camp has such cute stuff 🥰
Can anyone tell me if I can use a different material? I wanna be a fairy for Halloween but felt makes my teeth hurt to touch😞
