Wasn't my exact problem but same symptom. No 320vdc, only 160vdc so no backlights. Excellent video though on the function and operation of the power board. It got me in the ballpark. I did in fact have 13.1 volts to the FAN7930c IC in the boost circuit so the diode in question was doing it's job. I used the heat gun on my soldering station and as soon as I applied heat to the FAN7930c, the 320 volts came up! I resoldered around the IC as well as the other smd components in the boost circuit. Used freeze spray, heat and time in standby as well as unplugged time over several days. Can't make it fail again. From what I see online the FAN7930C can get flaky but for now everything is fine. Thanks again for the video! Excellent tutorial and well done😊

I have this exact model. The black areas In the screen are starting to pixelate. It’s been good to me, used hard for watching tv and gaming. Just terrible Hulu updates stopped so that wasn’t an option to use for awhile. Thinking of getting a newer tv, specially with winter coming up alot more inside entertainment needed. I searched the model number to see what exact tv I’ve enjoyed greatly over the last decade. They don’t make them last anymore than 6-7 years I’ve read, maybe ten with maintaining them. I’ve only wiped the screen down with soap and water, no inside repair/cleaning nothing. Remote still works great, even with a hole from a dogs tooth. Just want a newer one of this but 4K

diodes can deceive, so it is best to test under voltage. But experience is crucial. Good job!

WOW ! Excellent class on the E601i-A3E power board. I had one with same issue 2 months ago that ended up needing a power management IC FAN 7930C. Unfortunately the screen went bad. It was an early 2012 version and they had recalled them due to bad screens, this one never got caught but worked for several years apparently. Very nice repair. It's has a nice picture when it works. Thank you for doing this video. You have a new camera set up? Much clearer.

i recorded this video with my personal phone. yes common issue with this vizio as you said the screen goes bad from a shorted bad side cof and that my burn the tcon exactly on dc to dc converter and near by mosfet.. what i do to repair them is to find the side cofs that causing the short, remove them then fix the tcon, many techs they replace the tcon before they check the side cofs causing the new tcon to burn right away , by the way this is a SHARP screen N1 in bad side cofs

    Hi friend
I think that serial high ohm resistors are feedback of 320volts to the drive ic

yes i think you are right, because the step-up ic dosent need voltage start, i didnt check the datasheet for that IC to be sure

I have the same TV and I have picture I just can’t see it. The tv was struck by lightning, but I can shine a flashlight on the screen and it seems to be working as normal, I just can’t see it. So I’m assuming it would just be the LEDs burnt out? And I would just need to replace the lights, would that sound correct?
