Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 чер 2024
- I always see the question on how do I scale my helmets to be 3d printed! Its always scary to 3d print a helmet and it not be sized right. You dont want to waste plastic or time. If you run a 3d printing business people may return if the helmets not sized perfect. In this tutorial I show exactly how to scale your 3d printed helmets to get the perfect size everytime using a free file from an awesome creator by the name of Budwin and here is the link to his file.

FINALLY!!! An easy to understand & follow video on sizing helmets!! Awesome work as per usual bro 🤘🏽😎🔥💯 GOAT of 3D Printing
way too kind brotha
This is gonna help so many people!
Hopefully!
Holy shit!!!! that's exactly how I have come to size my prints!!!!!! I thought I was doing some ass backward shit the whole time... but every wearable that fits my 3d builder avatar seems to fit perfectly! I actually scaled a whole body! lol LOVE THIS!!!!!
Works great for me, I used a scanner to get my body and it's also nice to have for sure
Much appreciated! Ty
Always here to help out 🤘
Thank you, good sir!
Awesome video super helpful great job man
Appreciate that thank you!
GREAT tutorial as always 🤝
Appreciate that, I don't often redo videos but wanted to really help everyone
3d builder doesn't exist anymore. Any other options?
amazing to see how much your videos have progressed keep doing the amazing work brother #quest4nostalgia great info
Thanks for supporting for so long 🙌
Really helpful material ! Just in time starting my iron man suit !
Your suit will be awesome!
Glad someone broke it down!! 🙌🏾
Tried to be in depth
Been using this method only i use orca/bambu slicer and go to “objects” then unclick the helmet to make it transparent. In the slicer, you can scale the helmet and head to half (say if 90% is that you think is what you need then make it 45% and half of whatever the head is), turn off supports and slice. Then you can get a better view of how the head fits by scrolling the layers. The visibility of 3d builder with the blue xray might be better though and also looks cooler
That's a great option and may help people on MacBooks!
How you know I've been trying to figure out how to do this for a couple weeks?
Thanks a ton!
Hope it helps you out
Cool Software, and Tips. I don't have a Printer, yet, I just paint em.
I print a lot for my buddy and he does the same thing
Ahhh that's great.
😂 appreciate your support ed ❤️
How do you calculate the percentage value with cm
Now if only my head was small enough that I could actually print the helmet in my P1S :( Unless the helmet file I got was already bigger than my noggin and I need to scale it down, but following the math in the vid, I need to scale to 110%, and base model I already get warning that it's outside the print plate. Stupid big head.... this is why I can't have cool things. And of course 3D Builder isn't available anymore in the MS store and says it's already installed in Win 11 but can't find it to open it. Easy to follow video though, which is awesome if I had more print space!
sweet last helmet did was a little to big so this should help
What helmet are you working on
@@SaturdayMorningProps a white power ranger one
@@thekauders567 love to hear that 🙌
@@SaturdayMorningProps once it's done . it be turned into a oc Called the Red Lynx ranger a ranger from 1700's that from Scottish Jacobites
@@thekauders567 creative i like it
I’ve been watching dozens of videos for weeks and every single time I get different measurements of my head, or it looks fine and I send it to print and it’s too small so fails or too big and doesn’t fit or I print it in pieces thinking it’ll fit and like my iron man helmet it’s way too big, I’m just so confused what I’m doing wrong, I’m not great at math or measuring but I’m really trying dude 😵💫
Huh interesting, I just use Armorsmith and created a virtual mannequin of ally body dimensions and load the related body part STL and size it that way.
This is just for helmets and doesn't require a 40 dollar payment
I love you
i love you too
what if your fits the size of one of the head forms but is bigger on the long axxis or the short axis etc, or eyes are closer or further apart?
Like I mentioned in the video the heads arent perfect replicas, but neither are the helmets you are printing a MegaMan helmet is a perfect circle so scaling that it may be wider on the ears while tight forward and back. This will get you to your goal
Go reds!
what happens to the magnet holes when scaled , I assume they will not fit as before and we need to sand or glue them no ?
@@AMForouzani buy bigger or smaller magnets at 100% I like 7*2 mm at 102% I like 8*2mm
@@SaturdayMorningProps thanks
those do3d subscription service sucks
What do I do for a helmet that I put in 3d builder with the head scaled to the % I need and the helmet is tiny. If I scale the helmet it makes it 4000%. It's a do3d helmet but it doesn't match now.
Weird I've never seen a do3d file that needed to be scaled 4000% sometimes an obj file on thingiverse will need to be scaled a ton
@SaturdayMorningProps user error on my part. I figured it out because I had other files open it was throwing it off. After closing it out and starting fresh it works beautifully. Thank you for this, huge help. I'm messing with a helmet now. Easiest scaling method, absolutely amazing.
Whats the smallest printer than can print a full size helmet?
Depends on your head size and the helmet, not a question you can really answer easily. The bambus are tiny but can still do full helmets depending on the helmet
@@SaturdayMorningProps great! So could get away with some stuff on a bambu, don't need to pay $300 extra for the max or plus versions, necessary.
@@user-uf8nn6he3e go watch my videos on do helmets fit on the bambu
20% off all do3d.com files code: SMP20 it helps the channel a ton
I cant download 3d builder on my PC. it isn't giving me the "get" button. Anyone know why?
Check if it may have been naturally installed?
@@SaturdayMorningProps it has not been installed naturally. seems to be an issue others are having as well.
@@levipatton9207 hmm I wonder if it stops at windows 10
@@SaturdayMorningProps I'm attempting to research now on the topic. I hope not!
@@SaturdayMorningProps I'm also running windows 11
Is the link working for anyone ?
@@ThaMysteryMask which one?
@@SaturdayMorningProps hi, the thingiverse one, doesn't seem to be working atm
@@ThaMysteryMask hmmm can't tell if it's a thingiverse issue but type budwin in the search and look through his files
@@SaturdayMorningProps Ok, thanks!
Great video brother.
Im currently working on a updated far more accurate version of my Mark 85 suit for the community, Once done Ill be posting it on Thingiverse for free. It may make a good video if your interested ?
Swamped in builds 😂 but man that's awesome your files are wicked. Always shocked by the quality. I'll have to do another full build for you soon 🤘
@@SaturdayMorningProps
Oh I'm sure your very busy good sir.
I noticed your last vid that said free file got a noticeable amount of views and I thought you could maybe just review the files and give your thoughts. But I totally understand and just wanted to clear that up.
3d builder no longer exists
@@Kryoutubeartist haven't upgraded to windows 11 so I didn't realize, concepts should still work in the slicer of your choice
@SaturdayMorningProps any tips on a decent slicer that uses the x ray function? I'm using bambu slicer and can't seem to find an option, would meshmixer work?
@@Kryoutubeartist meshmixer would be my next guess as well but if you watch my first sizing video I used to do it in cura without the xray
I see I like to do things the hard way🤦♂
I had to refrain from sending you my tutorial when you posted that Deadpool
cannot find 3d builder! WTF?!!
@@christopherriley403 I think it's gone with windows 11 -_- I'm stilling using 10, can still do this method in regular slicers with just a few less features
