- A big reason why 3d printing was a hobby that stuck with me was that fact that it could pay for itself. I don't make a lot of money so I always need my hobbies to be able to make money as well. So I decided to help you all make your hobbies sustainable by showing the best 3d printed helmets to sell so that way you can buy more filament and what not.
Remember most of these helmets are do3d.com files and you can get 20% off with code SMP20
Remeber to follow all rules designers have about selling 3d prints of their files.
Here are the filaments I used for these helmets!

Just FYI you can't sell the product from DO3d's files unless you buy their subscription service. The single files are for personal use only.
I was just thinking about that! Usually, it will be unethical to sell someone's file unless you get permission. It's better to make it yourself and then, you can sell it.
@@seekertosecrets what if you buy it for each commission even if it's the same file. To me, it's like the client is buying the file themselves. I just factor that into the total estimate of services.
Does DO3d have the permission of Marvel Studios to sell 3D models of their characters? Because if they don't, you can buy a commercial license, but you also need a license from Marvel to sell the helmets
the Reptar themed godzilla is genius! Love seeing people think outside the box
@@phoenyx5564 thanks thought it was a funny one
So yosh for venom/spiderman but Which creator do you like more for deadpool? How much to sell these on the high end markets? Thank you
Im having issues printing the deadpool helmet on a p1s. 1 support keeps failing. Can you show how you print yours?
@@sloshedmrbones I definitely plan to do a video on it, in the mean time maybe switch to snug supports or use tree supports strong and glue stick the bed
Can you provide a link to the Vemon/Spider Man and the Godzilla helmets please, I can't find those and they look great. Thank you.
yoshstudios on etsy or instagram!
Love do3d helmets print really good
@@Kaos10101001 same and the textured ones are sooo easy
Do you think you’d could do a video comparing the different selling platforms? Trying to get a 3d printing business off the ground but don’t know which platform is best 🤔
@@Beemer_ben could be a good idea to do a pros and cons of each method like Etsy, Facebook, farmers markets
My issue with magnets. When you scale up a helmet the magnets don't touch anymore. You have a way around that by chance?
@@GenesisMoss buy larger or smaller magnets, at 100% even though they say 8*2 I like 7*2 at 102% 8*2mm work perfect
Love the beetleborg helmets
@@darrellhood5430 red is on the way and a full tutorial for green
Happy Saturday Morning, SMP! Great video. I’m curious about what you do with magnet holes if you scale up or down a helmet. I printed a Blue Beetle helmet for my 7yo son and there’s no way the magnets fit 😅
You have to choose different magnets for different scaling. At 100% I like 7*2mm cause the 8*2 are too tight but at 102% 8*2mm are perfect.
@@SaturdayMorningProps I bought magnets that were smaller but they were too deep still. So ill just have to buy different ones and hope for the best :) I debated boring the holes out but I don't want to mess it up. and heat fitting the magnets would probably deaden them. Thanks! And that's good to know for helmets I do for me and so on.
@@tyleradams3490 ive seen people use screw or nail with the head the same size as there magnet and put that in a soldering iron to press new magnet holes. but i havent had to do that yet
I am interested in purchasing a 3D printer, specifically the Bambu Lab A1 Mini. I would like to know if this printer is suitable for printing masks. Can it handle printing these pieces, or would I need a larger print bed?
@@CelsoAnnes I'd say go up to the A1, all these were printed on the same build volume as that
How are you getting the Godzilla helmet to fit on the X1C?
diagonal up and to the right
how do you make the eyes...sorry im new to 3d printing. thanks
@@pprecioustwinsnovel no need to apologize, the eyes are files that you print as well, some people like to use white PC mesh as well
@@SaturdayMorningProps thanks sir
Hi,
First, thank you for an excellent video! I have a question about copyrights. Are there any copyright issues we should be aware of?
@@maorbason8088 depends on where you're selling honestly, but in general I can't give legal advice via UA-cam comments 😂 also different companies are more strict then others, never sell anything and say Lego or croc for example
@@SaturdayMorningProps ty for the quick response, ofc I wont sell for example "Marvel" deadpool mask but what I wonder what if I will sell "Deadpool" mask. I think it is something anyone here should consider
@@maorbason8088 go look at the marketplace that you plan to sell from and see what is there. There are loads of people that sell until asked to stop and there are some like you who would rather know for sure. I don't have an exact answer for you unfortunately. Do what you are personally comfortable with
I need help. What is the best way to orient the pieces & what supports are best. Im using a bambu p1s & p1p with overture pla filament.
@@ezloot4u433 which helmet? Kind of hard to explain through comments, I have a 3d printing advice section in my discord
@@SaturdayMorningProps lol sorry. The deadpool helmet & I'll definitely chk out the discord later. Thank you
@@ezloot4u433 I plan on doing a video on printing the Deadpool
This is a dumb question, but when I buy a 3d print file, how do I send it to my printer to print? I’m new to 3d printing and VERY bad with technology.
@@Christopherperillo84 you have to have a program called a slicer, like Bambu studio, orca, cura etc.
What is a good printer to start with for making these helmets
@@30psiCTR the A1 or the p1p are amazing I have the A1 linked in my linktree
hey can you show a link explaining do3d license rules? i thought since it was personal you couldnt sell what you printed or did that only apply to the files themselves?
If that is a concern for you go look at their membership section on their page . Gives you 2 helmets a month and are free to sell printed helmets.
@@SaturdayMorningPropscould I just sell them if I wanted or need the license?
For do3d,wireframe, etc

What is a good price to sell these masks? Wolverine & Spiderman for example?
Can you share the link for the red again? The link above was for white when clicked the red link. Thank you for sharing this information!!
@@918swimbikerun the red will be an option on the right hand side
@@SaturdayMorningProps yes I clicked the link. You have two blacks, white, and yellow. No red. That’s what I was asking due to their being like 3 different shades of red under the overture filament section. Thank you.
@@918swimbikerun i updated the link can you try it again and let me know?
on d03d cant add add 2 promo like u said or did i miss hear
@@hansherrera6969 you misheard, if they are running a promo like 50% off SMP20 becomes that promo so instead of the normal 20 it bumps up, never said to add 2 promos
@@SaturdayMorningProps thank u
I am a complete noob! Lol thinking of buying the neptune pro max 4. Do you have any other recommendations? I mainly want to print helmets and weapon props and some busts 😅
@@EmanGaming85 I don't like the Neptunes, I've had a ton of them, id suggest the k1 max or Bambu p1p
@@SaturdayMorningPropsthe p1p is more in my price range lol with this printer ill be able to print helmets?
@@SaturdayMorningPropsended up going with the A1 regular for now since it has the same build plate as the P1 but alot cheaper 😂

What textures do you use for bamboo
@@dragondayz3599 not sure what you mean by textures?
How much would you sale this for
When selling the helmets how do you instruct the buyer to size their head so that the helmet will fit their head?
my most popular video is how to size helmets, i usually send them that and it shows where i measure the head
@@SaturdayMorningProps ok cool, thx! Can you send me the link to your video? It would be much appreciated, thx!
@@GerardLagana just click my channel and it's the first one
@@SaturdayMorningProps awesome, thx!
Do you try to get customer measurements? Or do you just sell the helmets at one constant size?
Both, if you are selling at a farmers market or convention clearly you just make a generic one and if they want it they buy it, but I have also had people ask for personally sized as well
@@SaturdayMorningProps Do you have a size you default to, or is your default just whatever the helmet imports as?
@@supermomandj I print them scales toy head normally, I have a very generic head so most fit me at 100% but some I scale to 102%
I really want to buy a 3d printer just to print some helmets and status. But here in Brasil it's pretty expensive yet.

but is it legal to sell the raw prints?
@@eyal_the_goat yup read do3ds memberships and yoshs Patreon. Do the right thing and be courteous to the companies but overrall they are already infringing on copyrights that they don't have claim to like star wars and marvel. Never ok to sell their files but raw prints you are fine but again follow their guidelines
@@SaturdayMorningProps this makes sense, because you're really selling filament, electricity & equipment use.

Commercial licensing from the STL designer aside, wouldn’t you also need to have approval from Marvel / Disney to sell these?
In other words, how to illegally sell copyrighted content and get a lawsuit if you get on their radar.
