Three Best Musky Leaders in the Game

Muskie Sunday at the Toronto Spring Fishing Show is always a great event, as so many keen anglers show up for the seminars and festivities. During the Q and A session that followed, several folks asked questions about various muskie leader lengths and compositions. They wondered, for example, when they should use a straight wire leader, as opposed to a more flexible and invisible fluorocarbon or monofilament one. It is an important consideration because your leader dramatically affects your presentation.

With the 130lb. Mono leader. How do you attach it to the bait? What type of knot? Ok never mind. I rewatched the video and got my answer.

I just a figure 8 knot to a welded ring, then split ring to the bait

I don't often use it for my normal-sized musky lures, but if you want to use a really thin leader that is still bite-proof, I would. For example, if I were using an X-Rap for muskies, I would opt for titanium because the thicker leaders would affect the action.
