Helloooo again, this is a pretty sticky topic but something alot of people have asked me to talk abot it, some of these might not work, and it might take a while to get noticed (it took me like 5 years) so dont feel to discouraged ♡ also take good care of your mental health, soaicl media can be toxic and draining.

Didn't Instagram change hashtags, that you cant really filter for the new works, but only see a collection of the most popular. That's so destructive for new artists...
You are correct , the only way poeple see things in the hashtag is by following it now and getting post related to it , yt hashtags work a lot better

@@nonickname-zy9mu Sorry for not answering before, but before Instagram hashtags were sorted into multiple lower categories.
So if you take #art you had a tab with the top posts in it and one with the most recent posts with the hashtag.
This made it possible to find small artists etc that just posted something with that hashtag. Now only the top posts that already have bunch of views can be seen. Its pretty sad tbh.
Thank you for all this info!! One thing that I find fun about posting oc art is that if you have a little audience or some mutuals who enjoy oc lore keep things vague at first while slowly dropping clues about their story!! This is something I really liked doing, because it involved messing with my friends and telling more people about my characters. Doing it episodically is the key :D
Even though getting more likes/views wasn’t my goal for going that, I must admit it did give a little boost

The "sketch account" example is so good!!! i often doodle way more than completing actual full pieces of art so I'll def consider trying this out
Here's an idea if you dont wanna manage more than one account keep posting doodles on stories and have them saved in highlights or smth.
@@reyrb6011and for artists on UA-cam, simply post your doodles and try to arrange them, this is a bit harder but it makes your channel more neat.

I'm someone who gets immediately depressed when I'm drawing something just for a trend because honestly I feel like it's all the same empty thing every time. I have no idea how I would ever keep up this

3: have a style so simple that it can be considered colored sketches

i feel this so much. have been going on the same for years now, but i decided to enter a tourney server for a game i liked and applied for doing art prizes for the winners. i got to know a lot of artists and people in general and honestly it looks like a great way to start an art career. obviously not the only one but it seems to be working for me :)

Quality over quantity is key, and boost app social has been my go-to for maintaining that. It helps me plan and create content that resonates with my audience, keeping my art's integrity while growing my reach. Any other artists here found it helpful?

I’ve found that doesn’t really hold true anymore unless you have a quality level that makes you top in your industry… otherwise algorithms see infrequent posts and you get buried with low engagement. Social media often operates and pushes up creators with lots of quantity content that can frequently post
If it works for you I’m really glad though! I’ve noticed people nowadays also enjoy consistent content without changes in style or subject, when they follow someone they often want the same vibe to curate to their tastes.
I feel extremely depressed because I only ever get likes from an NFT account and a bit coin selling account- I rarely get any likes from people who are normal…

tysm for this info i think i now know why my art doesnt do well on instagram, i do post decently consistant and a lot of fanart a lot of which being things that are trending, but i constantly switch style, color pallete and brushesso i think that might be my problemn
that might be BUT like i said in the video its good to test around with styles and brushes and to branch out, especially if your a newer artists since your trying to find yourself, youre doing everything right , its just socail media sucks

I always drop some info, plus I upload the comic on a different page compared to my tiktok, but I have the same username and everything you mentioned. I just rather make related content there, as that can usually attract attention and lead people to investigate on what you have. I hope miracles exist and I'll be seen with my hard work :)

honestly… I wish there was a button that disables you from seeing views, followers, and like counts. I need to teach myself not to be affected by numbers when I don’t get the result I want
I know insta has an option where you can hide the likes you receive ! I also think twitter (X) has something similar (?) I’ve seen some artists have no likes visible on there a while ago :D
Appreciate the video and you have such a great style! Your engagement % (likes per post vs follower count) is probably the highest I've ever seen for an art account!
I guess it's from the community aspect/engaging with your audience as much as possible but it's very rare to see that high, so I'm curious if you think you do anything different to most artists to achieve that? :)

instagram has me kinda shadowbanned on both my art accounts, not even a single like from people who don´t follow me, not even the bots come to say to dm my art to their accounts, and I don't know why, I don't have anything that goes against Instagram rules.
if you dont post for a while your piece wont end up on others feeds, its like a light shadowban, if you start being a little more active it should help

I have a yt channel and it's not rlly preforming well because I BARELY post, I literally go months without posting because making just one piece of art takes me a lot of time. Also, I have so many things I want to post abt, but because my parents see my UA-cam channel and stuff, I can't really post about stuff I'm passionate about since they're going to ask about the things I'm drawing 😭.

def gotta agree with the follower count lolol i have like 10k from my past activity when i was 12 and its been so hard to grow since ive been busy :'^D
One thing i try to do is that i manage to do multiple drawings even though i just did a different one, i try to schedule them or like do a carousel. I always schedule my posts from now on than butcher myself for forgetting to post and it does it automatically for me
