The first 1,000 people to click the link will get a full year of Premium membership to Craftsy for only $1.49: go.craftsy.com/theartofmetalsmithing/ The offer is valid for new members only. Today I'm revealing my "secret" sources with you and sharing my suppliers, places where over the years, I was buying my gemstones and metal supplies, including wires, silver sheet and components. It's all in this video! Of course, this is not all of the possible places in all of the countries around the world, it's just places that I personally shopped at and had a good experience (I;m not sharing places that were questionable or just didn't live up to standards). I hope it'll make your experience easier and smoother. I know it can be extremely hard in the beginning to find trusted sellers and suppliers, so I hope that by sharing my favourite go-to places I will make it a bit easier for you. This video includes online websites, Etsy shops and profiles on Instagram. Love, Basia x
Thank you so so much for this. I believe the universe puts things in place when you need them. Yesterday I used my first gemstones and tried them out and loved them!! And immediately was like - i need more NOW but I have NO idea where to get them, then you post this. It’s a sign that I am on the right path and this is what I’m meant to be doing. ❤ Thank you for helping me so much with your videos so far on my journey, you’ve not also helped me to learn more but also inspired me to share my journey and how tos etc similar videos in the future too. so much gratitude for you and your content
I agree with you 100% we have gem shows where I live and they always send me an email letting me know when they will be arriving. You mentioned several different companies and I order a lot especially the ones from the United States… anyway I loved your video❤ hugs 🤗, Michelle
Thank you so much for sharing this information. ❤ Question, how how did you first begin to learn about all of these different resources/ shops? And, do you have any recommendations for people just getting started. Thanks!
I find Betts Metals and Bellore Rashbel are often cheaper than Cooksons in the UK. Also Jewellery Maker often have good stones at a discount. I also love Joopy Gems.
Great suggestions, thank you so much for sharing! I don't think I ever ordered from them, maybe once from Bellore Rashbel 🤔 If I were in the UK, I'd definitely give them a try 👍
Hello Basia, I appreciate your information. My main goal is to find different geometric shapes and I'm grateful for the information and hope to find some on the sites you recommended. There are not any gemstone shows where I live, so I've got to rely on finding reputable online sellers. Thank you! Oh, also, where do you find that nice pinkish light fixture you have in your room? it's quite nice.
Oh yes, absolutely! I'm a huge fan of gem shows now 😀 It is an extra effort to attend and spend usually an entire day shopping, but being able to see and touch most gems and pick exactly what you want makes up for that extra time. Some gems won't be available at a show, but then we can always refer to online shops 😁
Does anybody know a good shop for germany? Or are there good tools from amazon? I am really confused where I should pay a little bit more and where I could safe some money for my first toolset
The jewelry suppliers charge way too much per gram for what we're getting. I buy used silver lots for close to scrap and reuse the stones and silver to make my own things 🕊🕊🕊
That's a brilliant idea 😀 Definitely something worth doing. Last year I also started recycling my own silver scraps myself and making a thicker sheet 👍 there's lots of cheaper shops too, worth researching online and networking during gem shows
U.K. sources are expensive for sterling or gold fill…anything! Not easy to get quality wire or bullion when you’re just a “little person” who likes to work with quality material instead of basic poor quality fashion plated!

ah and the tip for the gem shows is great I think I will give it a try as paying import taxes and shipping can be so costly 😆✨
