damn for some reason i wasnt expecting this level of quality in gun animations from an mgs game. left pleasantly surprised by this
I hope they bring it back with the remastered collection. This has been stuck on the PS3 for too long.
Fun fact about the Desert Eagle [L.B] you'll notice Snake doesn't take out a new mag when reloading he just takes out another Desert Eagle and just morphs it into the empty one to reload it.
Seriously look at 2:25.
This is probably just an error in the games code. Instead of pulling the magazine model it just pulls another Desert Eagle
Emulator glitch i guess, it workes fine in my ps3
Feels weird to see only dry reloads in old games especially in today's modern shooter climate with wet and dry reloads.
At least they got the 870 reload right.
In MGS4 only pistols have tactical and empty reload.
At least they showed live rounds being ejected
@@bendrenth441 And predated Battlefield 3 by 3 years regarding chamber loading in shotguns. Also, the guns have more reverb when shooting from the third person perspective, muzzle flash effect varies depending on the firearm. They also got the rear sight of the MP5SD and the dual firerate/hyperburst of the AN-94 right
It's a shame that for MGSV they opted for frankenguns instead of real firearms, and they not only look ugly, but also less detailed depite MGS4 being 6 years older.

Out of all the weapons in this game, I only used 8-12 of them. The game has a nice selection though.
Game that came out in 2008 has better detail in weapons than most of nowadays modern shooter game.

Would you be an absolutely amazing person and write the steps you took to emulate MGS4 please? It's the only game in the series I haven't played and I'd love to emulate it. Did you download a certain build? Use a certain patch? Follow a specific guide? Any help would be massively appreciated, thanks a ton.

Was hoping for some reference here. Sadly there is no XM16E1. The camo pattern is very distinct but hard to make out in MGS3.
Not to mention Ed's XM8, his gun has longer barrel and built in scope

Cool but there wasnt any point with so many guns in a game dominated by cutscenes and known for stealth action gameplay. I think they put these guns in for the online component and decided to put these in SP as well for players to "check" it out

@@viagrabuffalo5141 Tell me about it. You have to play this game a total of EIGHT times just get the last Gold Trophy needed for the Platinum. Though I think Metal Gear Solid 2's Platinum is going to be MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, harder. So I'm going on Extreme first, then work my way down to Very Easy, so my future self can thank me for going through that hell first instead of having to climb my way up. It's how I got the Platinum for Call of Duty Classic.
How did you remove the ambience?
It's the training area. It's a setting you can use to either test weapons or take photos of the Beauty & the Beast unit.
I like guns with high capacity, and can stagger enemies.
Even as an old man Snake grip is so strong that the Desert Eagle has barely any recoil on his hands.
Just compare him to RE characters, they almost break their arms using that gun.

Back when they actually cared about gun details.
Its amazing how a 2014 Japanese game like MGS4 depicts IRL weapons and their reloads virtually correct and even showing the tiny details (Ex: AN-94 slanted magazine & hyperburst feature, pulling the charging handle last when reloading the PKM, the variety of ammunition seen from the spent cartridges including the MP7 & P90 ejecting spent bottleneck cartridges, P90 spitting spent carteidges downward, the translucent P90 mags actually showing bullets depleting, etc.)
Despite some errors (Ex. SVD charging handle not locking back when empty, Snake pulling the charging handle even with one round in the chamber or not using the bolt catch on weapons having one, etc.)
MGS4 is a 2008 game
MGS4 released in 2008 but it takes place in 2014
Note the Ruger .22 pistol is bolt action when it should be semi auto
It's a quirk of the MGS series. The tranquilizer guns always worked like this until some variants in MGSV. They'd be pretty OP without the slower fire speed tbh.

It shoots a custom .22 round that doesn't have enough power the cycle possibly below sub sonic and Since its suppressed it was intentionally not to cycle soo you can have a much more quieter gun.
just like the real life M92f hush puppy variant which was featured in MGS2. The pistol have a switch that prevents the slide from moving for much more quieter gun this result to manual racking of the gun slide as well. Alot of guns have this idea like the S&W Mk22 mod 0 or the welrod/VP9.
While the traq round are quetionably victional, Guns moded like this are realistic and I've seen several people on the net and in real life make a custom hush puppy ruger .22's
Weapons were more realistic in this compared to mgsv.

MGS4 has the best gameplay in the series, it's such a travesty it was wasted like that. Even in Chapter 1 and 2 you have to avoid making friends with the militia (the logic thing to do) because otherwise you can straight up walk through whole areas uncontested. Kojima honestly stopped knowing how to design video games after MGS2.
Also this guy didn't show how the XM25 scope range finder actually allows you to program grenades to airburst at a designed distance, specifically to hit targets inside doorways, windows or behind cover. Just like real life (whole purpose of the weapon).
