What exactly A5 model do you recommend (second-hand with a budget of about 15 thousand euros)? Automatics do not stop reading that they give many errors ... Thank you very much in advance!
I'm going to test drive a 2014 A5 with 67000 miles what should I check for on test drive?
"If you take care of the car, the car will take care of you"
This is facts!!!
😂 you think that cars are like girl bruh there are some cars no matter how well you take care of them it will have problems
@@mooauto2388 Duno maybe just bad luck.
But I see plenty of plebs driving with really good cars (german cars) that have various small faults that are cheap to fix even at a garage but keep on driving like that treating it like a piece of trash, I wouldn't bet those are the same people who bitch about cars being unreliable.
Been saying that for years... simple enough but people don't do it.
Facts
A modern day classic in the making. If these cars are serviced regularly by Audi approved mechanics or someone who has a clue about Audi's then you can own them for a lifetime. I love mine and wouldn't part with it.
Im getting a 2010 audi a5 next week is there any major things to worry about in your experience besides the oil consumption I did some research but I would love to hear advice from a owner of the a5
Yeah, I love mine too, but i haven't been mercifull with it, Hopefully it will survive until I make enough money to completely patch it up.
What engine do you have?
@@danielfl.9347 I got the 3.2l I was on edge with the 2.0t but after doing more research I went with the 3.2l hell of a motor this thing is built tough
Yup, I have a 2012 and its a joy to drive. Spark plugs every 4 months, motor oil every 3. Its Zippy, great on gas and reliable.!!!
Fast forward to Jan 2021. I test drove a 2012 2.0 with a 6MT and I was extremely impressed. I was going 85 before I knew it. They’re doing good things with 4 bangers nowadays so I know not to underestimate.
I thought at first it was Count Dracula, but my fears soon vanished as I realized it was still light outside and everyone knows the the Count always sleeps during the day...
Count out of sesame Street lol
Absolutely perfect review.
This is exactly the info I need to know! thank you
Knowledgeable, no bs, great work again. Thanks mate.
Owning an A5 2011, the regulator for the windows is a def check, my regulator went and window dropped down, had it replaced but had to take the car back to have the window recalibrated as the garage didn't calibrate the window for closing properly. So if you do replace the regulator for your window, always double check the window closes properly after it is replaced. Other than that, I've not had any other issues and it still drives like a dream.
As for 2019, since the 2012 update it still looks up to date. I'd go for the sportsback.
Randy Watson : models before 2012 can look brand new just from a new grille
Thanks a lot, I really like this car and finally best review for it
To the point, clear and easy to understand!
You make fantasticly helpfull video's my friend! Meny thanks to you!
Perfect car video. .... concise, tell me what to look for, tell me the good stuff, show me a high mileage example. Good job.
thanks!
Not had mine 1 year yet but its awesome. V6 3.2 QUATTRO Manual coupe. Will be chipped and tuned, dropped and 20's from Vossen. Bullitproof!
Thank You Very Much. Very informative.
Thx this helped alot since I'm getting a 2010 Audi RS5. Thank you very much.
Great review, just what I was looking for. Thank you
My wife bought a beautiful 2 door A5 on a 2010 plate, three years ago. I love the stance, the ride height (or lack of) and handling. The cabin is snug, fits like a glove and the Bang & Olufsen stereo is awesome.
Had some issues though, first the clutch went, I swapped out the dual mass flywheel too, just to be thorough. Then my AC unit died, followed by my drivers window coming off the rail and the motor, or servo (I think) needed replacing, that was expensive.. Now I'm getting exhaust fumes leaking into the cabin, my brakes need replacing and the rear shocks... All said and done though, this car has done over a hundred thousand miles, my wife is just the second owner and I don't begrudge the small fortune it's costing to fix these problems. The reason.. This car will run for thousands of care free miles as long as we keep looking after it, most of the things that could go, have done and been replaced now, the original parts lasting far longer than you would expect. This is one of those rare cars you never want to give up and at ten years old, the sleek modern design makes most people mistake her for a new motor. This was a great video about an awesome car. Well done.
what engine do you have? (asking in relation to the fumes inside cabin)

Obviously if you pay a lot it will work... every car will work if you pay a small fortune to keep it going...
I sold it when they told me the price to fix my timing chain. Bought a Soda Octavia VRSi 2ltr petrol..
it's a rocket! wished I'd had one years ago.
@@centuriontwofivezeroone2794How much was the timing chain??
Thank you this was genuinely useful
Steering issue on pre-facelift models is a thing to look out for. The MMI on older systems can be slow to process high bitrate music files and large folders. Aftermarket Audi Music Interface Bluetooth accessories help with playing music from the phone.
To add B&O systems suffer from water dmg. because water leaks on the amp. repair cost 300e -> 2000e
I have 2010 a5 sportback version and replacing timing chain on 190K(around 700e replacement),if you want to buy this car and run it down to its life you better get ready to change those pistons,i paid 1500e for replacement.Other than that TSFI till 2012 are very nice cars, they are beyond comfortable and ride very smoothly
About the 2.0 tfsi you can exchange the pistons for 4000-5000 ( if you dont wait to long, so no follow up damage is caused) and you will have a nice looking and reliable car for +- 15k good thing in my opinion
Another good review. Im going to see one on saturday with 3ltr manual tdi quattro...
Thank you for the hints
That shit with freezing windows is real problem :D. I had to go through trunk once. Now in winter i don't fully close one door window.
Spray silicon on the door seals (helps stop the sticking).
Great review, looking at buying a 2010 a5 2.7 tdi and this review was very helpful. Thank you
Thank you for this video brother
GREAT video! Very useful! Thanks!
This is helpful, thank you.
Whont be buying one now
One of your reviews contributed on getting mine, the one with the v8 tho. after seeing it for my self I was like he was right, thanks.
My 2010 Sportback, 2.0 tfsi, had the piston part rebuilt in 2014. Engine is super reliable besides that. Other than that, nothing but a bad PCV valve and clutch soon to be replaced - for the first time in its 8 years though.
I have the 2.0 tfsi quattro special edition. My engine was replaced is 2013. Clutch went in 2016 (had Audi extended warranty thank god). Car still consumes oil, maybe a liter every 3k miles or so. Rear suspension springs were replaced 2017 due to rust (one had snapped). But as it stands the car is sweet and I've looked after it very well so don't see any reason I won't have it for many year to come. It's a solid car and a joy to drive.
Hello all. I bought an Audi A5 2009 convertible 2.0TFSI before 6 months. I did 3.000km or 1900 miles and i refill only 0.3 lit of oil (audi official is 0.5 lt per 1000 miles)The car is very good, the manual gearbox is working good. The car has done 130.000 km or 80600 miles.
Damianos Z.
Glad the gearbox seems reliable. Looking at a manual 3.2
I have 330k km. Clutch had to be changed, otherwise no other major problems. 2.7 diesel
I have a 08 I bought 4 yrs ago. Love it! 3.2 s-line 122000 miles

Had mine for 6 years now. That shit with the freezing doors is real man, no joke. Common problems are door lock actuators, vacuum pump leaks, wheel bearings and valve cover gasket leaks
how much does it cost on maintenance on the more recent models? 2014 and on, more than average mileage 12k+ a year? I'm planning to buy one used
Adore my 3Litre Black Edition A5 Coupe from 2012 ... just wow! But it has its issues... the front wing mirrors are meant to tilt downwards automatically when placing into reverse gear - they only sometimes do this which is very annoying as it’s an intermittent fault! I’m wondering if it just needs some lubrication?! Also the worst part is the over-light steering, the wheel is constantly jigging around and requires a firm grip to correct this, which is not pleasant and feels like there’s no room for any error!
Such a good quality video
Watch the 2017 Coolant pump recall. NO KNOWN FIX at this time. Values of the 2017 are falling fast!!
Will u recommend the 2.0 litre tfsi engine for them? The car is kept in very good condition with no oil consumption for almost 2.000 miles
got the 2013 a5 quattro 3.0 tdi v6 quattro with the dsg/stronic. do not buy the quattro dsg model if it has high milage, the DL501 gearbox will need repair costing £700+ due to melted printed circuit board. I have had this done. the gearbox still sometimes throws an error up when put into reverse so it didn't completely fix it. Also the 3.0 tdi engines sometimes have a failing rubber seal in the engine which causes a water leak, it is also a labour-ious repair. Buy this in a manual if possible to save you the headache. a full gearbox rebuild can set you back a few thousand pounds.
Just buy the diesel TDI they are solid
Correct, bulletproof and flying machines that are reasonably affordable to run.
Really helpful
The comments and video is pretty helpful. As i imagined, buying an a5 would be a gamble. I want or wanted one for a daily but I rather not have 2 cars to dump money into. My budget for this is 10k tops but all I'm seeing is your typical short sleeve shirt and tie salesman dealerships with these
Have a 3.0l tdi and I’m swamped with starting issues. Battery drains extremely quick
I have a twin car to the one at 40 seconds in. Car is absolutely amazing m. Bought it with 19K miles it's a 2011. Car has so much potential. I get more compliments than I can handle (also could be because of my age) but the car gets a lot of attention. It's not slow but not fast. It does everything well. I highly recommend it!
Hi Alec, i was looking forwad to buy one aswell at my 19 birthday! do u really recomend the car? do u have any major problem with the car?

I just got rid of my Lexus IS250. Never had any issue with it.
Not thinking about buying a used A5 quattro. Any suggestions ?
Well thats why i have a heater for my windows 😂
For when it’s cold out side the Windows can defrost
I'm absolutely in love with my A5 S line special edition 2.7 V6 TDI
I have the same type and motor :) Black one.
Thank you!!!
How much nm can the S-Tronic transmission take?
just got me one of these 3.0 v6 version
How is it?
Yeh, come on, Thomas...how's it going? After one myself :D Give us your 11 month views ;)
Me too I went with the stronic version.Had it a year now and no mechanical issues at all not even had to put any oil in it.The only thing slightly negative is the cost of a new wing mirror best part of £300 oh and tyres are quite pricey at £125 that's cost price.its due a service next month and I'm going to get the gearbox oil changed at the same time.Performance wise it goes like a bullet much faster than my previous 1.9 Audi A4 avant which was remapped to 180bhp.Plus it just makes me smile also having an auto just seems to reduce any road rage.
