The first Pink Floyd concert I went to. At the time Meddle was their current album but everyone was blown away by the first set Darkside of the Moon

So great to finally hear this again. I was at this show. And understand this was the first time hearing Dark Side of the Moon as the album wouldn’t come out until midway in 1973. Was a real joy ✌🏻

Thanks for this treasure of a recording with great audio from the time. Young Glimour is in top form as is the whole band.
This was an amazing, unexpected set of unreleased new music for us prepared to hear only Meddle, out less than a year, and earlier material. The stage was at the side, not at the end as I recall. Large white disk behind them dominated the stage above the band and those first films of the flying clocks from "Time" and the high-life scenes from "Money" were projected on it. Not the massive disk Gilmour had later but a first at the time. I remember those beginning opening beats were loud footsteps that moved around the hall, circling behind us...oh and the lunatic laughter too, spooky as hell. Another first: surround sound at a live concert. Saw them the year before at Winterland with stage at the end of the rectangular hall that time. Saucerful, Ummagumma and "Echoes" from unreleased Meddle then. I was freshly out of the Air Force at this one and thank my good friends at McClellan AFB Sacramento for turning me on to PF and making many runs to Winterland.

I can't even imagine being there and hearing early versions of the most important album of the decade. Having no idea what would happen next... Not to mention the band working like a cohesive unit. 🎉

I was at this show as well, if memory serves me correctly the place was like 3/4 full . I remember being on the floor right in front when the second set started. "One of these days" I think it was. We had just gotten back from San Diego with a couple keys of not so good weed so we decided we would bring it with us and give it away cut our losses by doing a stoney good deed.

I was at this show and it is awesome to find such a good recording. I was in HS and it was before Dark Side had been released and PF was still under the radar. The place wasn't even full mand those of us who showed up were big fans. What a great show! I saw the Dead at Winterland many times starting in '72. The 70's shows were my favorites. Check out the Truckin'-The Other One-Morning Dew jam on 12/31/72. It was some of the most transcendental music I ever heard them play.

I love pink Floyd always Early, late Gilmour's solo show in 84. But i think Floyd is best from 73,and 74 to 77. I wod pay some money to see them live 75. You cod Follow the moon from ne to eclips, and they had ofcourse the cool laser at that time. Only Floyd you just have to love them. 💯👍
