dude... your channel.. Thanks for this. I believe you are the youtuber with the closest approach to music making to mine. And a solid channel, good production, editing, sound off course.. i'm surprised you havent got more subscribers.
This is exactly the type of thing I’ve been looking for videos on! I do basically the same, but want to take it up a notch with either prerecorded automation or something to help turn a 4 or 8 bar loop into something more “live”, possibly for live performances. I hope you make more vids like this.
Greetings from Puerto Rico I have a mpc one and like you I love the guitar. Your way to show it’s very simple . The video sound it’s perfect. Make more content like this .
great video, thanks! I'm getting more into sampling and making beats with the MPC, but I don't wanna stop using my strat and making indie/psych rock haha. So your tutorials come in really handy!
Another great video. Still waiting for that seamless verse-chorus live looping video, though. I need to know if I should buy an MPC now that the world is about to end :P
Could you do all this "live", like would it work in a gig or live stream setting? Do you get click in your headphones only, could you mix on the fly, if you could nail all your performance in one take would it be seamless to build a track like this in front of an audience? Thanks for the video
You totally could. Click can come out of a separate output, you can mix on the fly no problem, only tricky part would be getting to different song sections! Haven’t figured that out yet :)
@tjguardino you can copy sequences and use it as song section for changing up your beats.... also you can use the mute button to mute different tracks and record them on the fly as well as automations...like muting drums as intro then bring out the song for example
i saw your videos on the Circuit Rhythm-as-a-multitrack-recorder/looper yesterday.. and today while looking for MPC stuff..bam, there it is.. you again with a setup that would be VERY close to mine, a handful of years back..... if Akai had the Disk Streaming going from the getgo, and i had not gone the Ableton route.
@@tjguardino @tjguardino thanks for the reply, Yes, I've been trying, but I feel like it was a failed endeavour. I never finish anything. I believe that's due to 2 main things : 1. switching from Logic to Ableton; 2. the PC/DAW(+keyboard&mouse) is definitely NOT my ideal tool for recording ideas. Too much resistance between playing a riff and the moment you record it. I need sth quick, compact and portable, preferably without a screen. I sent you an email a few days ago....i dont know how busy you are... . Ive watched a bunch of videos of yours in the meantime . My plan was getting a Boss RC-5 and a NuX Mighty Plug Pro combo. But now.... after your videos.. I am considering getting a SP-404 mkII very, VERY seriously. One can do a LOT (!) with that device . Looks very solid.
Somewhere online i saw one could use odd time signatures...but only from 1/4 to 7/4, on the 404. I havent seen 7/8 or 11/8, or..15/8.. (so that might put me off ). Can you confirm that, in anyway ? If the 404 allows me to use it as complex sequencer and multitrack recorder & looper (&sampler) i am _definitely_ gonna try one. I'll plug & capture the audio instruments, directly, in real time ; and sample the MIDI VST ones i use, and just ditch the DAW, for doodling initial ideas.
Fun fact: You can use pretty much any Boss guitar pedal as a DI box thanks to the Boss buffer. I'm going to be incorporating a Boss EQ-200 into my recording setup here soon as a EQ/DI box...tone shaping before the preamp and a nice buffered, balanced input
I started music like 1.5 yr ago with a MPC , also learning the keys and recently guitar. I love how everything is in this box , have a gaia 2 hooked to it aswell. And for me as a beginner its relevant easy to learn , compared to ableton ( i know ableton is much more pro / better ) Only i wish they had visual EQ , especialy as a beginner its hard to mix if you cant see the frequencies. But have good hope for future plugin , cuzwith the new multifilter bank plugin they showed its possible.
I had a mpc one when they first came out. From playing and loving the mpc500 I really wanted to like the newer mpc’s and I bought it for your usage, live looping. Sadly I just couldn’t get along with the mpc workflow This new update for live looping seems much better. But the one thing that always comes back to bite me is being too used to the elektron workflow Great video mate (as always)
Thank you :) I hear that!! It’s quite different from Elektron but it can be kind of a fun departure from that kind of step sequencing, keeps things fresh to switch between devices :)
thanks for making another vid in depth of mpc 3.0 does the mpc live 2 phaser effects for guitar ?? would love to see the other guitar effects this has would this work with most midi keyboards you're the only person i can find who does in depth videos for live looping in this mpc 3.0 you're explaining live looping in a simple way i have been trying to figure out for years so thanks i hope you make more videos about this they're very cool thanks what is the best / cheapest high impedance output to buy for the guitars ?
I don’t know if it has a phaser specifically (away from it right now) but it has some amazing modulation effects. It should work with most USB midi keyboards though! Any cheap DI box will work for plugging your guitar in. I hope to work this song into some new releases soon!
Hey man I really enjoy your videos! Thank you! ❤ I‘m thinking of getting a MPC Live I to switch it for my Blackbox and Novation Tracks. Actually love both of them, but it would be nice to have one project in one Box and be more flexible with synths. Would you say you could even finish tracks on it (Mixing & Mastering?)
Nice!! I have the blackbox too and I really like it BUT yeah the MPC with an arranger window and plugins is awesome. You could definitely finish tracks on it, and there’s even an option to export as an Ableton Live session too
you should also check the AEROS loop studio. It looks the same, but it's better because your individual loop tracks can be different lengths, and then you also have a bunch of more looping functionality! :) But then you would need a drum machine next to it, so I guess together with the Digitakt. :) Anyways, just an idea that's worth checking I think :)
Great song! I think you've just convinced me to buy MPC one?! Well, eventually, not right now, mind the G.A.S. Got an Aerophone as both a controller as well as standalone instrument And a saxophone. With this, I can build a whole backing track from scratch as well as add voicings, making me one man band. Without the need for all sorts of devices that I need to interconnect, I'm just a sax player man, let's not get toooo technical😂.
Ipad gen 9, 250.00, looper app and granular app. Add that to mpc? Omg, you will go crazy. It should be able to blow away 505 looper. I could be misunderstanding 3.0 update and now can live loop many channels from audio sources? I need to go blow the dust off mpc key61. Waiting on Force update :(😢😢 I hope akai didn’t ditch Force. Those oled knobs would be great with mpc 3. 0
The Force is still awesome, hoping it'll get an update eventually! For now MPC 3 is perfect for me for live looping. With a tablet would be next level!
The MPC is the best thing to happen for contemporary music production 💯💯
It’s sooooo good ⚡️⚡️⚡️

I’m glad you’re finding this stuff helpful! More videos are coming!l working on that same challenge myself :)

Haha that’s awesome. Guitars and grooveboxes are an underrated duo!
word!
Lately, this close to NAMM, when I see a new MPC 3.0 video, I have my fingers crossed that the firmware is now out of Beta! Great content, Bro!!!
I hear you! Fingers crossed too. 🙏 loving it so far!
And Mac/PC app for 3.0 🙏
Interesting. I'm intrigued. I must come back to this screen yet again. Wow. Thanks for the video and God bless
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent. Thank you. Makes me have faith in my journey.
That is so awesome, thank you got watching ⚡️ You can do it! Keep going!
Hell yeah! Thanks man!
Wooooot appreciate you dude!!! 🙌🙏🤘
Dude you’re killing me 😭 I told my wife I wouldn’t buy anything else but my cart has an MPV Live II in it 😭😭😭
Lolol I apologize my friend 😅 😅😅
"it was a accident"
Consider the MPC Key37 or 61 for even more of an all in one.
Nice sounding beat, tasteful choices.
Appreciate it! 🙏
Dope!!!!! 😮
Ahhh thank you. 🙌🙏

I’m really curious about the Aeros loop studio 👀👀👀
You can change the length of the individual tracks with the MPC as well
how? i though i can only change the sequence lenght
YES!
🙌⚡️🙏
Have you tried the akai force for live looping?
@@ededdy6771 no I haven’t but I’ve heard very good things!
I suggest using the latest version of mpc 2 until beta is over. It works fantastic and will do so until an official release of mpc 3 ait? 🎉
I don’t know if I’ll be able to go back!
@tjguardino is it mostly the arranger or what features couldn't you live without?
Great song!

After seeing what dropped today, What If Native Instruments brings in Guitar Rig on the MPC 3.... OMG
OMGGGGG that would be AWESOME
It was all possible with the old firmware as well.
Nice. I just find the arranger window a lot more intuitive for layering audio tracks like this
Ipad gen 9, 250.00, looper app and granular app. Add that to mpc? Omg, you will go crazy. It should be able to blow away 505 looper. Such a good box 🙌
No, but you can do other things, loop live record doesn't (didn't?). work when being midi slave.
Screen is awful, digitakt even 1st is better
