Yeah, for me this is really what simming is all about!
I like making the reviews, as I enjoy trying / flying new aircraft and people seem to find the videos useful etc, but heading off an adventure and exploring / navigating the world is how I enjoy spending my own time in the sim. I never actually set out to become a review channel haha.

@@IntotheBlueSimulations To me, this is the true review. Going through the pros and cons is nice, but it's really nice to know: Can I take it this addon on an adventure, have a ton of fun without being bothered by some shortcoming? This video might be the one to finally sell me on the pricetag!

      Cheers Cal!
I actually broadly agree and it’s the main reason I try and carry out a relevant / appropriate flight for each aircraft during my reviews. My early reviews were actually just flights, but of course everyone want to see different things, so I’ve adapted to try and cover most bases. I actually wasn’t intending for this video to even be a review, but I guess I just couldn’t help myself commenting on the aircraft XD
I know the channel is probably considered a “review channel” at this point, but I don’t consider it one myself haha. I actually have a whole load of pre-recorded flights / mini “adventures” etc, but they rarely get uploaded, as there’s always something new to review in the meantime haha.
Anyway, that was probably a bit of a ramble ha. Overall the FreedomFox is a nice effort and seems to be very well supported / updated by the Parallel 42 team. I would say it’s perhaps lacking weight in pitch, but what do I know - I’ve never flown am ultralight. It’s a great STOL performer and again, perfect for an adventure!
Cheers and all the best : )

Love these adventure videos and I have to say the video construction, editing, ideas, imagination etc are great. Although I love reviews and in-depth previews etc it is also really nice to see fun videos that highlight the sim in its current state. DAS07 said in the comments that they are immersive and totally agree with that. Great work as always ITBS :-)

I have to say, I much prefer these sorts of flights myself haha, but the reviews are really what keeps the channel ticking over it seems, so I try and balance it out a bit (and hence why I try and make an interesting flight out of the review itself). As you’ve probably seen, I have a whole load of pure flying videos in the early access playlist - I do intend to upload them at some point, but there’s always another product that comes along and as the review videos are time sensitive, they tend to get priority haha.
Anyway, really glad you enjoyed the flight and felt immersed (that’s really what I aim to achieve with this these sorts of vids).
Thanks very much as ever! : )

Hey! I have been flying the Kitfox for a while now and I would like to share to you two things to keep an eye on. I noticed you turned on the wigwag lights and the landing lights together, but the landing lights will override the wigwag and will work only as landing lights. And second thing is that as soon as you touchdown, you should retract all the flaps so you can have as less drag as possible resulting on a shorter landing distance. Overall your videos are just amazing not only in quality but also in content! Keep it up.

This is a nice little plane that I've been having a fair bit of fun in. In my opinion the main issue with the sounds are that it's a Rotax engine and Rotax engines sound crap lol. But putting my anti-Rotax views aside I'm really enjoying it. The tent is a nice little feature, the AT Simulations Cri-Cri also has a tent that set up when you turn the engine off and set the parking brake but I'm not really a fan of that plane so rarely fly it. Another nice little immersive feature of the Freedom Fox is how the door flutters in the wind when you open it during flight. Don't think I've seen that done before. The mod manager for this is kinda interesting as well with the different setups for the plane and a lot of optional sceneries and liveries. I quite like the option to have the engine data on the left hand side garmin, makes it a lot easier to keep an eye on the engine! It'll be interesting to see how this develops over time.
Really nice video and flight as well! As you say this is the kind of stuff MSFS is brilliant for. Looking forward to more adventures. I do however have to dock some points for a serious operational error. You turned on both the landing light and wig-wag switches! It's one or the other, if you have both then you just have the landing lights on full blast. You gotta turn the wig-wags on by themselves and then you'll get the nice alternating flashing pattern. I'll look the other way this time but if I see you doing it again I'll have to have some serious words with the CAA about your pilot's license. ;)
    Cheers!

      @IntotheBlueSimulations  2 роки тому +1

Haha, I can’t argue with you on that one! I’m not sure how well the Kit Fox would take a 27L V12 though XD
Yeah, I never picked up the Cri Cri myself. It did look like something that might be good fun once or twice, but I knew it’d shortly be out into the hangar (or it’s own tent haha) thereafter.
The door flutter is certainly a nice touch. Have you tried going a little faster though, they do a whole lot more than that! ; )
The mod manager is indeed a neat feature - I hope the make more of it going forward (steam gauges, different pilot options, perhaps some custom installable “nicknacks” etc).
I’m glad you enjoyed the flight! Definitely what MSFS was born to do. I take no responsibility whatsoever for the wigwag situation though!! If the engineers didn’t make the system idiot-proof (AKA pilot proof), they clearly haven’t done their job! : P

@@IntotheBlueSimulations will have to try flying with the door open at greater speeds. When I saw the door flap I closed it pretty quick and didn't think to see if there was any more to it. Quick question - does this a/c have moving shocks and decent ground handling? A lot of bush planes in msfs just don't feel right when you touch down.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations

Thanks very much Roland, I’m happy you enjoyed it! Yeah, this is where the sim really shines and is head and shoulders above the competition (I’ve been “X-Plane-ing” the last couple of days and it’s really a reminder of how far MSFS still has to go in the commercial jet / IFR realm).
Good question re the shocks, one I cant answer off the top of my head I’m afraid. I can check and get back to you though? The ground handling felt very MSFS-ish for the most part I would say - a little bit bouncy and vague.
Haha, well you flatter me sir! I’ll have to find somewhere with a cobbled runway - that way no matter how smooth the landing is, you’ll get a good shot of the shocks in action XD

      Hi Michael,
Did you happen to make up your mind on the Freedom Fox yet?
If I'm not too late: The Freedom Fox is a very nice addon - that being said, it probably doesn't offer a whole lot that other freeware bush planes don't already offer. Graphically it's very nice indeed, sounds are good externally, a little bit weaker internally. Systems are ok and the aircraft has a number of customisation options, which is nice. The flight model felt fairly "default" overall, but the aircraft is pretty easy to put down on a dime, which is really what I wanted out of it.
The fun-factor is definitely there, but I'd imagine some of the Got-Gravel stuff might offer the same level of enjoyment (haven't tried it myself) if you wanted to save yourself a few pennies.

      Hi Drew,
Not that quickly haha. I’ve had this comment a few times recently though, with various aircraft; I suspect it’s an issue caused by the recording tool that I use, although I haven’t found the time yet to test that theory yet.

Yes, I think you’re probably correct re the camping equipment. Is the product description a bit lacking in detail?
      Cheers : )

what is this? can you camping in mfs2020? is it and addon?

      Hi WG,
The tent seen in this particular video, is a feature of the product itself. Parallel 42 (the developers of the Freedom Fox) do also offer an addon - Campout, which allows one to set up a campsite etc anywhere in the MSFS world and with any aircraft. So in essence yes, you can go camping in MSFS haha.
I hope that helps. All the best : )

Ah yes right as my GPU dies I discover this add on.
My dissapointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
Looks like something for me once I get my setup back up and running.
As always thanks for the review mate and take care!

      Haha!
Someone else commented “my disappointment is immeasurable” the other day and I couldn’t believe that they didn’t follow it up with “my day is ruined” XD
Sorry to hear about your GPU mate, that’s a real pain! At least GPU companies are still usually reasonable about these things and it’s not a case of “not my problem”, as it is with so many products / companies these days.
Yeah, I reckon the FreedomFox would be right up your alley (I’m surprised you didn’t know about it before actually!). The aircraft does perhaps feel a bit weightless in pitch, but that may be accurate - I’ve never flown and ultralight. Otherwise though, it’s a very nice effort and a good little STOL performer. Reasonable on the FPS as well - so you shouldn’t go melting any more graphics cards! : P
Hope you get everything fixed up soon! All the best : )

@@IntotheBlueSimulations By not going for the full sentence they managed to ruin your day!
Yea it's quite annoying with the GPU. Unfortunately pretty much 3 weeks later I still don't have it back.
All I know is so far that they couldn't fix it and sent it to the manufacturer.
For now I'm relying on my tablet to get any work done.
And yes, the Freedom Fox is definitely perfect for me but I never actually heard of it.
All the best to you as well mate!

Hehe, lovely vibe there. Sorry to break the immersion, but how do you get your voice to sound so intercom like? : )

      Likely a recording sound filter.

Haha, no worries! I edit the voice recording in a program called “Audacity” (so the effect is added in after recording - it can’t easily be done live as far as I’m aware). If you fancy giving it a go, I’d be happy to provide further details.
      All the best! : )

Actually I create the effect during editing Daniel : )

Wonderful video, I have question for you, you said in past videos you are a real pilot, I was curious about your history, are you commercial or do you just for fun (edit, I went back through a few old videos and you mentioned being an airbus pilot, that’s really cool)

      Thanks ST!
Haha, I see you Sherlock Holmes-ed your own question. I do indeed fly the Airbus in the real world! I’ve been a life-long simmer though, so flight simulation is a hobby of mine in its own right. I had planned to set up the channel mostly covering Airbus stuff, but somehow I seem to have become a review channel instead (which is fine by me, I enjoy the reviews and it’s nice to do something a little bit different) XD
Cheers and all the best! : )

Yeah, it’s a rather nice effort from Parallel 42 overall. Good fun for a bit of adventuring! I’m afraid it is indeed another payware offering though. . .
      Cheers : )
