Being completely new to Fujifilm and waiting for my XT20 to show up at my door step this has helped prepare me for setting up and using my XT20. I am super excited so thank you for this video!
I got the X-T20 last August and using it is quite overwhelming. I used to have a Canon before but decided to make the switch last summer and that got me a little frustrated because of the entirely different operating system! Your videos are quite helpful in that regard. Thanks a lot :)
Omar, I was an all-in Canon shooter until I fell in love with micro four thirds Olympus cameras (because of size and weight…the cameras, not me!) in 2013. However, I’ve often lusted after Fuji cameras because of their dials and retro look. Couldn’t justify buying one though until now. Recently moved into a retirement community apartment and that forced me to downsize on much. Been here two years and realized I hadn’t used my two Panasonic cameras (Panasonic & Olympus lenses are interchangeable) so I sold them and bought a FujiFilm XT20 on eBay. It included the 16-50mm lens. I also bought the Ttartison 35mm, f/1.4 manual lens. I’m loving learning how to use the XT 20 and your videos have been invaluable! THANK YOU for all the work you’ve put into recording them!
Thanks for this. I'm new in every possible way: the xt20 world, fuji world, cameras world; I have no intention of being a pro-photographer and This playlist it's the perfect middle ground between technical info and newbies info. Appreciate this so much. Thanks again.
Hi Omar, I'm from Canada. I've been watching and following most reviews on Fujifilm XT20 camera online and on youtube. Nobody is as detailed and precise explanation as your video. Because of your instructions and honest opinion, today was a lucky day as the camera went on sale here in Toronto. I pulled the trigger on the XT20. I know it's an year old camera but new is not necessarily means better. I've not had an upgrade since my Nikon D90, got tired of carrying the heavy camera and this camera is more than enough for my travelling. I've been using my iphone to take photos but its not the same joy and excitement when you using a real camera. Thanks to you and your helpful tips, looking forward to seeing more of your new video on the XT20. Cheers!!
I just bought the X-T20 - haven’t even received it yet - but one of the reasons I was confident it would work for me is your videos - they’re the best tutorials I’ve seen. Thanks for doing these! SO much better than trying to glean all this info from a manual! And so much more entertaining.
Omar...you are a fuji xt 20 expert...you share valuable information that no one else does...you are much appreciated...I do those accidental adjustments all the time...this is a great help...merci
Hi Omar! First of all: got my x-t20 last week and now came up to your channel to learn more about and how other guys use it. Totally addicted now (cam and units)!!! 2nd: as you disactivate shutter-AF (6:15) I tried it too but then I couldn't focus anymore in AF-Modes - even not with back focus button as it's only available in MF mode. So I turned it on again, still no focussing in MF when pressing shutter release! 3rd: I inverted your AE-L and AF-L settings. As I wear glasses my thumb always left a sleazy mark on it. So this could be a hint for all those fisheyed guys out there. Like me. Last not least, please keep going on doing your x-t20 channel. As many others here I love it too. Great work, chapot. Greez from Salzburg
Had to resurrect by X20 after months of not using. Went to Omar my “go to Fuji guy” . Settings all came flooding back and now I’m good to go shooting . In Omar we trust. Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2023 k/r iamjohndcameraguy
Hello Omar,i get this camera for about 5 years ago,and i just look at for five years and of course i have play whit it,but not take a real picture whit it,thanks is so lovely and i am a Cameraholic. This was my camera NR:77 in the year 2017....
@4:55 => you can alternativly use the shortcut on holding the Disp/Back Button for 2 Seconds to come into the custom functions menu or you can press and hold the AE L or AFL Button to reasign the custom function specific to the button as you showed on the D-Pad @7:44 the wifi-Start on doubletap on playbackbutton is great.. didn know, thx
Thank you for your videos. Coming from a Canon DSLR I was struggling a bit with the menus and functions. The way you set yours up seems to be perfect for me and makes a huge difference. I may change things in the future but for now I’m really happy, thanks.
I've been watching all your videos and every time I finish one I get so hyped about getting my XT-20 soon!! I don't think I'm gonna regret switching from Canon to Fuji. 😂 thanks for being an inspiration!!
Very good. This really helped me to see the similarities and differences of Olympus and Fujifilm. That long press feature is really neat and the map of the buttons. Left me with no questions. Thank you!
First of all, many thanks for your videos. They are clear, didactic and fun to watch :-) One suggestion about the shutter speed button and AF: I kept "shutter AF" ON and set-up AF-L button for AF as you mentioned. When I want to focus with the function button and so disable the "shutter AF" , I put the focus mode selector to M instead of C or S: Same result and so you get the focus peaking directly. PS: Your videos helped me to confirm my choice about the amazing x-t20.
@Omar Thanks for all your videos. They made me buy the xt20 (switched from Canon) and I don't regret it! I find it very useful to have the left dpad button set up to change the custom settings c1 to c7. That way it will change the film simulation and the iso settings / shadows highlight tones I set up for this special film simulation. This way you can immediately see the effect it has on your photo. Consider it, try it and let me know what you think about it :) Greetings from Germany (currently on holidays in Cambodia and Laos) Cheers, Stefan
Very helpful, Omar. (My x-t20 arrives this weekend...I’m like a kid at Christmas 🤩🎄 -and yes, your videos were very influential in my decision, so thanks!)
Hi Omar. Thanks for all your videos about Fujifilm X-T20 and the lenses 👍😄. It is very entertaining and I learn a lot about photography too . Keep up the good work, you are doing great
Great video again!!!! I just wanted to give an idea to everyone about one specific function button. I use the top Fn button, the one close to the shutter, to choose the shutter type. When you press it jumps from mechanical shutter to electronic and next to mechanical+electronic. Most of the time I use the mechanical+electronic shutter (always mechanical unless you need a higher speed than 1/4000) but like to change to the electronic shutter sometimes I need to be very quiet. I don´t remember if you showed your auto-iso set up in some other video, but I would like to know your choices. Many many thanks Omar!!!! Keep the good shit!!! ;)
Truly grateful for your video. I just got my self an XT20 and your whole video about it totally helpfull. Subscribe rightaway and thank you very much for sharing
Regarding back button focus and shutter focus off, I think i am achieving the same outcome if i am in aperture priority + flip the focus mode to manual, and then use af-l button for focusing (with AF-L set to AF lock). it seems to be the same thing youre saying around 5:02, but also gives the versatility to shoot with quickly in S mode withthe option to lock focus when required other than that, this video was really helpful as I was annoyed to always open quick menu for changing ISO
Your videos are really well done and it would be great to see you move beyond the X-T20 and into photography tutorials. Especially with your personality, you make this stuff fun to watch. On a side note, do you have any tripod recommendations for the X-T20?
Hi Omar, and all other commentors, I have a question: I'm an X-T2 user and am thinking about an X-T20 for some upcoming travel; primary reason is the weight and size. But, I'm concerned about the feel of it in-hand; another youtuber said it's the worst-feeling Fuji to hold! I love the X-T1 grip and the X-T2 is just fine, so I'm just curious for any insights on the X-T20. I've also read that the Megagear leather half case makes it so you can't flip the screen out, in case anyone has any experience with that. Thank you! And thank you for all the amazing videos Omar!
I have my XT-20 set to back button focus but I always have to press down the shutter release button half way before I can begin to focus with the Back button. I would like to press the back button initially and have the shutter release ready to go. My Nikon D500 works this way, press the BBF and the shutter button is ready to go.
Hi Omar! Thank you for your great videos about x-t20! Due to them I made final decision and bought one for myself :) I also like focusing on back AEL button - so I made the focusing buttons setting as in yours video: focusing AEL Shutter AF OFF. But now I have an issue: if I put my x-t20 into full auto mode it refuses to focus by AEL button and also by shutter button :) Do you have the same behavior or did I set something wrong?
... so that firmware update never got that customizable front command dial after all. Or is it just my not being able to assign ISO to it? Coming from an x-t30 I really get your preference for the d-pad instead of that odd joystick-touchscreen combination, but being used to having my ISO assigned to that front dial is giving my muscle memory a hard time. Maybe they could combine both (as well as IBIS) with their next x-txx model ... Thanks for your video!
Hi Omar, maybe stupid question, but anyone that has an answer is welcome to write it. Is there a specific reason why the Q-Menu has the last row (at the bottom) highlighted? Has this some special function?
US just need to give up on using Imperial system... there are 3 countries grand total using it....US and 2 other countries you never heard about. Gotta get on with the times, although their gun laws are still dating back to 17th century. Great vid tho! : )
Hey omar.im new to photography. Im just wonderig if you are using any protective lens???some would use clear filter nd filter or what kind of filter to use just to protect the lens.any thoughts???
Awesome video. Could you confirm which drive mode you have got the camera set to? In single frame mode it seems that the focus points you display (from pressing the down button) do not show. Any thoughts? Cheers
my viewfinder is not correlated with the shots. I take. Yes, I can use the histogram but I've gotten used to my Canon which shows accurately in the viewfinder what I am shooting. Fuji XT20 is consistently about 2 stops darker than what I'm' seeing in the viewfinder. So If I'm trying to capture a moment I have to keep changing from what I'm seeing. Is there anything to do to get the viewfinder to show the true shot? again don' t tell me to use histogram I'm looking for an answer to create the viewfinder and shot correlation. thanks
Silly question maybe...How do you add date/time stamp and other info to the pictures? All of that info is set, but when I send to my iPhone via wifi, nothing shows. Thanks!
Very helpful ideas on set-up and customisation Omar, thanks. Tricky thing I find with the x-t20 which you mention is my hand hitting the control pad due to the size of the camera. Are you still using the Haoge grip with yours and does it make that handling aspect better ? Holding off hoping to pick up the used x-t10 grip but it’s getting annoying as using heavier adapted lenses like my old Nikon’s makes it a bit front heavy.
Hi omar. I noticed that you can choose either of the following AE LOCK ONLY, AF LOCK ONLY, AE/AF LOCK, and AF-ON. Can you discuss the differences between AE/AF LOCK and AF-ON?
How come when I shot with the xt20 My pictures come out blurry? And why does it the shutter sound sounds like half a second to actually capture the picture?
Is there any blackout in the EVF while shooting in CH mode or burst? I have the XT10 and is not good, and I tried a Sony A6300 and there is no blackout at all...... nice video
Hi Omar, what SD card are you using? My X-T20 takes up to 5 seconds to record the pic in Raw (lamp is flashing green/orange) and not sure where is the problem. I find that a lot, I'm using a card that has 80MB/s read speed and 40MB/s write speed. In your videos I notice it lasts around 1 second (Fine+Raw).
Hello to everyone . I can't decide between X-T10 and X-T20. In the country I live in, the T20 is sold for twice the price of the T10. Is it worth paying double?
I had my histogram on display, but then I reset the whole menu because flash menu was locked. Now I try to get back the histogram, I do exactly what is in your video but it still it is not on the display, what might be the problem ?
Re Back Button Focus - do I have to hold the button down whilst I also press the shutter button or will it lock on, similar to when I half press the shutter button down (now disabled) as in your set up? Thanks for your videos.
Hi Omar. What would you pick between Fujifilm 18 mm F/2 or Fujifilm 23 F/2? I know that the 23 F/2 it is a far superior lens, but I'm a little scared about the extra length, both in terms of size that in angle of view. I would use the lens for everyday use and travel. Regards
I was in the same boat as you. Was really eyeing the 23mm and planned to get it. Came across an ebay deal for the 18mm and had to snap it up. So far I like it. I can't really use it for "portraits" but I love being able to crop however I see fit after the fact. I end up cropping to the equivalent of the 23mm but it gives me that little bit of extra wiggle room in case I messed up the composition during shooting.
@@equal___ Then I decided to pick the 23 mm instead of the 18 mm because of a good deal on Amazon (just 300€). I'm happy with the build quality and focus speed, but, sometimes, I'd like to have a wider angle of view. Plus the extra length and weight make me wonder if it has been a bad choice. Unfortunately I'm looking for something that doesn't exist yet: a smartphone or at least a very compact camera capable or shooting like a camera with interchangeable lenses. The reason why I decided to pick Fuji was for its smaller size compared to my Canon's gear, but, then, I realised that it is not as compact as I expected. I'm still not able to go out and fit my camera + one lest in a jean's or coat's pocket.

I just got into photography and bought an Xt20 without your videos I would be so lost! Thank you!!!!

I've finally switched up my old X-E1 to X-T20 after watching many of your videos 😁🙌🏻
There's not a lot of videos like this on the X-E3, but because they're so similar this is still super helpful. Thanks Omar!
Just received my Black X-T20 today - Came across your excellent tutorials. Much appreciated Omar

As always Omar, another great vid..... Bought a xt20 a few months back and your advice has really helped... 👍
Could you make a video about the mechanic viewer / electric viewer? What’s the differents? Etc etc
I am seriously considering the new XT 30 and this video was really helpful to me
Just wanted to say that I appreciate your time and effort. I have learned a lot about my XT-20 by watching your videos.
So glad I could help!
Another fantastic video, Omar. Thanks. I've only got the X-T1 but I still learn heaps from your videos!
Awesome...so glad

Hi Omar. Thanks for all your videos about Fujifilm X-T20 and the lenses 👍😄. It is very entertaining and I learn a lot about photography too . Keep up the good work, you are doing great
Great video! You are very good at explaining the features of that camera
I'm waiting for my first camera ever to arrive. It's the Xt20. Thank you for these videos, they are a huge help :)

It was a pleasure to meet you at the Expo :)
Yah! Same here man. You know your Sony stuff!!! A pleasure talking with you, for sure.
Turn off the bleeping beep! First thing I do on any camera. You sold me on the X-T20. Looking forward to it.
Well done and helpful Omar!
excellent video omar!! as usual! :) thanks!

On a side note, do you have any tripod recommendations for the X-T20?
No i love the XT20 stuff. But yes, the vids are fun!
That's mostly because I own an X-E3 and can relate to most of the stuff ;)
I don’t have this particular camera but really enjoying your content. Well done. :)
Thank you helped a lot still learning cam
Great..glad to help
Thank you so much for this! Your videos really help :)

Hello Omar. I just got a good deal on a mint X-T20. Do you set yours to take JPEG mostly? Thank you.
Always jpeg + raw.... post jpegs...save the raws to play and change film sims
Silly question maybe...How do you add date/time stamp and other info to the pictures? All of that info is set, but when I send to my iPhone via wifi, nothing shows. Thanks!
When I change the right dpad button to photometry and i click on it afterwards nothing happens on the screen?

Does it keep the settings even after you switch batteries?
Cause my old fuji loses all setting after a battery swap
many many thanks for your video.... great
Re Back Button Focus - do I have to hold the button down whilst I also press the shutter button or will it lock on, similar to when I half press the shutter button down (now disabled) as in your set up?
